Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything
Cons: Brilliant place to stay ,warm and welcoming lovely
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Close to airport, comfy bed, everything clean and comfortable. It was warm, quiet, and cozy. Friendly landlord :)
Cons: -
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This place is about a 15 minute walk from John Lennon Airport. I didn't know this beforehand alas. The house was spotless, a nice sizeable room ensuite. It was convenient to a bus stop on the main road. The owner was so nice and welcoming. I would highly recommend this place especially to people arriving late into John Lennon Airport.
Cons: The only thing I didn't like was the lack of Taxis at the airport at 11pm at night. When the taxi did arrive I was charged a £4 levy on top of a £5 fare for a jouney that took no more than 5 mins! I felt ripped off. This had nothing whatsoever to do with The Gateway Lodge
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Jimmy on reception extremely kind and went out of his way to help us
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Room was extremely cosy Very clean room and scent of candles and fresh linen The lady who greeted us was extremely nice Parking on site Tv and facilities
Excellent 10.0
Pros: No trouble to find the place as there is a nice illuminated sign, excellent on a cold dark night. A cosy well-equipped comfortable room and en suite bathroom/toilet of dazzling cleaniness. Good hot shower. Friendly, helpful efficient staff. Easy and quick to check-in and check-out. Tea and coffee in the room. Quiet. Ten minute walk to airport terminal building. Perfect.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: This lovely guest house is in a perfect location for Liverpool airport. The facilities at Gateway Lodge are extremely comfortable, lovely big bed, great shower, tea, coffee, hot chocolate in bed the room and use of the lounge downy. No breakfast included but I knew that when I booked and don't eat breakfast so glad I wasn't paying for something I wouldn't eat. Walk to the airport was 5 minutes and for a very small charge I was allowed to leave my car on the car park over the weekend. The host Jimmy was fantastic, very friendly, informative and accommodating. Would definitely stay here again and would have never reservations about recommending Gateway Lodge
Cons: Nothing I didn't like

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely clean accommodation, staff friendly and welcoming
Cons: N/A
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely area, very welcoming, enjoyed stay
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: There was nothing I liked about this property there are too many problems and issues that require attention which makes it difficult to find something I could like about this establishment.
Cons: There is a lack of signage as to where you have to go on arrival to raise attention of the proprietor. We booked a double room for a 4 night stay but were allocated the disabled room. The room was dated. The mattress was worn and springs could be felt making it uncomfortable to sleep on. Stains on the laundry and duvet, numerous spiders an cobwebs in the bedroom and bathroom, these could have been dealt with. The used towels we placed on the floor for replenishment were not replaced but placed on the towel rail. Surfaces were not cleaned when the room was serviced. Lack of attention to detail in the daily servicing was evident. Poor outside lighting when returning after dark made it difficult to see the lock keyhole. Parking was a problem with the number of vehicles requiring to use the property. The quality falls a long way short of the 4 star silver award advertised. I would not stay here again.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Everything was spot on. we were happy with everything. The room was clean and comfortable, the location excellent.
Cons: There was'nt anything really to find fault with.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Great location, lovely owners, good facilities.

Cons: All great.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Spacious room and a vey good location
Mediocre 3.0
Cons: The bathroom door wouldn’t close and kept opening. Breakfast was bran flakes no choices

Excellent 8.0
Pros: The owner was very friendly and helpful in giving us advice about taxis to the airport. The room was clean, spacious and comfortable.
Good 6.0
Pros: The owner. The bed/room facilities and reception.
Cons: The old smell of like ashtray in my room even though it was a non smoking establishment. Otherwise I'd of been satisfied completely and say it was value for money.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: lovely owners
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Chris is so nice! He gave us a lot of information about Liverpool and where to go. We felt really welcomed there. The room was simple, but for the price pretty ok. We had a room with three beds and the room was really big. There is not much to do in this area, but the bus 82 comes every 5-10 Minutes (even during the night, although you might have to wait a bit longer for the bus then) and takes you to the city in 25-30 minutes.
Cons: The shower was a bit weird and I found it a bit hard to get the temperature right.

Okay 5.0
Cons: No isolation. Too much noise from the street
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Lovely family run Hotel which was a base for a visit to Anfield. Welcome, room and facilities all great, Room for 2 twins larger than expected; Hotel had a small bar & pool table - staff warm and welcoming as you would expect. Certainly return and use again
Cons: Only minor issue was bathroom floor - very slippery marble and a cracked tile and heating was ok .. did not impact on stay at all
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Love the room .. love the shower
Cons: Nothing .. I loved it
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Nice decor, friendly people.
Good 6.0
Pros: Very welcoming staff. Nice facilities in room and also extremely clean!
Cons: Was very expensive and had a room next to a slamming door so woken up early by people leaving at 6:30am.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: It's ALL about Gary at the front desk😊 This man will turn your day to the better! Rooms are a bit tired, but comfy. Staff go beyond the beyond to take care of you even when very understaffed. Short walk to Lark Lane for eats and drinks. Quick cab or bus 80, 82A to center city. Great Sefton Park location. If you are in Room 15, let me know what you find behind the little door at the ceiling.
Cons: Shower. Hard to turn between the rain showwr and handheld. Very tight floor basin deadly slippery. Glass shelf over sink not installed tight, at an angle, nothing will sit on it. (Room 15)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We had a lovely stay at the hotel- reception staff were very welcoming, polite and helpful, very knowledgeable about things to do and places to visit. The hotel is beautifully maintained - staff obviously work hard to maintain cleanliness.Breakfast was a reasonable price with lots of choices. We would recommend this hotel to others and will certainly stay here again.

Good 7.0
Pros: Clean room and large, comfortable beds were very nice.
Cons: Large number of guests at Bank Holiday weekend stretched service, so delays for breakfast and a few missing items from room only provided on day 3.
Poor 1.0
Pros: Absolutely nothing
Cons: l called hotel before arrive so many times no one picked up my phone, Arrived hotel no bellboy 4 star hotel? one person in reception wait long, then go to bar for food they were about to close l ordered pizza came uncooked l ask staff they took my pizza return burned pizza, room service l ordered nuts was terrible l didn’t eat but still paid even l said next morning was off, drawer filty l put my ring table in the morning line glued to table greasy when l was checking out family l saw in the night in bar guy was angry condom in drawer half glass juice in fridge from previous customers snd he’s child found absolutely rotten place. check out des says cleaning promise but pile dirt towel on desk before l took photo they removed l said is this Gordon Ramsey hotel nightmare breakfast not clean at all
Good 6.0
Pros: The staff were really friendly, they did try and accommodate us with the late check in and breakfast situation, I was disappointed with the room it could have been better, I think they might have been having staffing problems? Xx
Cons: The bathroom wasn't very clean and the curtains were off the rails, which left gaps in the window, our room wasn't ready, but we did receive complementary drinks in the bar, which we didn't mind, Breakfast was a bit disappointing, we had to queue quite a while for a table, then they decided to put us in the bar for our breakfast, we were just greatful we had plenty of time before our flight was due,
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We had an overnight stay whilst taking a short break in Northern Ireland.
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Lovely staff at the reception, polite and helpful :), Nice rooms
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: Dud not like anything. Bed was like sleeping on a hard floor with one flat pillow. Got very little sleep
Cons: Facilities very poor . Breakfast appalling freezing cold. Dirty makeshift conference type room used for breakfast as dining area being used to facilitate services for refugee families. Did not feel covid safe at all as could hear people talking about offering vaccines and setting that up. Should not have had paying guests in the same communal areas should have been offered cancellation. Would never stay there again. Over priced and very poor airport hotel. Definately use premier inn or hampton next time.
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: The staff was very nice and helpful
Cons: I was expecting to have an excelent accommodation. Unfortunately when I arrived, I found the room with a flooding and without a fridge/cooler. They allocated me in a different room and when I called them to ask how to turn on the air-conditioning the answer was that it doesn't work. To be worse, when I went to bed the mattress was horrible. Looks like I was over the water. I was in Portugal in an Crown plaza Hotel and this was one of the best experience that I had in an hotel but I didn't have this on Liverpool.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Brilliant service and very welcoming
Cons: No
Excellent 8.0
Compact room, for a 4 star rated hotel i think it is too small
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The furnitures are a little bit old otherwise is good
Cons: We have booked 3 two doule size beds room but the front desk lady only gave me one bed room. She complained we didn't tell her. Well Sorry i Do not know I have to remind her what I have booked.
Excellent 9.4
Pros: Great comfort & "art deco" style make for a very nice stay. Service is a big plus too
Cons: Some of the otherwise very nice decor in the room was beginning to kook a bit tired
Good 6.0
Pros: Very nice employees who answered every question we had
Cons: No
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Location
Cons: The sofa bed in the rooms are very hard
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Stunning Art Deco building with so much history as it was the original liverpool Airport where The Beatles flew in and out of in the 60s! Top notch friendly staff throughout the Hotel. Excellent reception and Bar services. Hotel is absolute gem!
Cons: No. I think it is excellent all round.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: very comfortable and excellent staff
Cons: nothing
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The breakfast was really good - the staff very friendly and helpful always ready to drop stuff to help - always had a smile
Cons: The decor needs updating
Excellent 9.0
Cons: En-suite a bit tired but good value for money
Mediocre 3.0
Pros: The location was good due to work did not have breakfast due to eating there on the evening and finding in very poor
Cons: The room was old looking mold in the bathroom and around skirting boards room smelt fusty
Good 7.0
Pros: Breakfast choice was good but I had cold mushrooms and leathery bacon and sausage. The poached eggs were beautiful. The room/bathroom were very clean and there was always extra milk etc available.
Cons: The bathroom ceiling was very mouldy. The taps were difficult to use and the water, even though hot was running slowly. The shaving light bulb was missing. The main room also had some mould. There was only one chair which was odd considering it was a family room and we are pensioners. The remote for the TV would only work if the batteries were turned round regularly.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast just what we wanted. The dinners good pub grub. Selection of beers good. Parking safe and close
Cons: Cold weather
Poor 1.0
Pros: Awful
Cons: Everything
Okay 5.0
Pros: Hotel is lovely, although room in need of a bit of TLC.
Cons: First night, Thursday, reserved a table. No chance. People ignored and staff did nothing. Second night, Friday, reserved table for 7 as expected it to be busy. When came down was told it would be ready. Tried to offer us table in the back where dogs are allowed and screaming kids. Time went on and kept being told to give them a minute. Young girl finally sent over to table and customers said they reserved it. New check in was told food was being served till half 7. Where would that leave us for food? Management need to learn how to manage. Went elsewhere to eat so they lost out.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great friendly pub with great beer and greay choice of wines and gins. The staff were brilliant and really looked after us, especially Josh who went over and above. came from France to see mum in care home and spent three great days here, will be coming back in the new year, thanks and love to all xx

Great breakfast, clean and good location. Overall good stay. Don’t expect modern luxury but overall good views and good value hotel. Lots of character to the old building set in beautiful tree lined park. 8 mins from city £8 in can 👍
Excellent 8.8
The hotel was easily found on Sefton Park just around the corner from Aigburth road. It has just been and continues to be refurbished. Staff were attentive and friendly. Shower in our room was quite small! The room was situated above reception so at 6:30 onwards a fire door? Kept banging for the light sleeper not so good. Breakfast was huge and very well cooked. Lovely bar for the late evening. All in all excellent stay.
Excellent 9.6
Much cheaper than local alternatives, sited within Sefton Park, this non-chain hotel has a strong connection with The Beatles. The staff were very welcoming and friendly, the room was large and much better than I expected at the price, the breakfast was cooked fresh for me and the whole ambience was good. I only booked because my go-to hotels were all full but I will always book here in future.
Excellent 9.6
The staff at this hotel are always so welcoming and accommodating it's such a lovely atmosphere. Yes the decor is a little dated/tired but we do not come here to sit in our room all day. With magnificent views of the park and easy access to everywhere I really couldn't recommend highly enough.
Excellent 9.6
This hotel.. Slightly out of town but is a mini museum to the Beatles. What a find. The original family home of one of the original Beatles Stuart Sutcliffe who left before that got big but still so many items on the wall from John Lennon. If you're coming to Liverpool for a Beatles experience I'd stay here as value for money is very good! Staff were great and so helpful. Thank you.
Excellent 8.8
Staff are really kind and helpful. Rob was so helpful when making the booking and Joe was the perfect host, so kind when we had a health concern whilst we were there. We really appreciated your concern for my husband. Would certainly stay again.
Excellent 9.6
Nice hotel facing s from park friendly staff
Excellent 8.8
Very clean, basic room. If all you want is a place to sleep, you will struggle to find better. Shame that when I asked for a coffee in the lounge, they could only offer instant.
Excellent 8.8
i found the hotel very good value for money the staff were very helpful and the location is excellent
Excellent 9.2
Really nice hotel, unbelievable value for money. Friendly staff. Will be staying again
Mediocre 2.2
Pros: Not a lot to be honest.
Cons: Everything.
Excellent 8.3
Pros: great location, great menu, great staff. hotel a little tired, needed to be updated and the odd broken fitting replaced, but generally a very good intellect for the money.
Cons: was too hot, needed a fan or air con, no lift so no good if you dont like stairs. slightly noisy from road.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Superior double room was exactly like photos, luxury feel. Good value, close to lark lane and access to bars and restaurants.
Cons: Didn't know needed code for gate, on arrival no one from by reception answered intercom.
Okay 5.0
Pros: The view was nice looking out over the park and the staff were very helpful and friendly.
Cons: The room we was given was definitely not an executive room which I was expecting. It was small also the window frames need cleaning, the room was looking very tired with the wallpaper on the ceiling needed replacing

Excellent 10.0

Excellent 10.0
Lovely location, Sefton Park, short walk to the buses, very friendly staff, lovely breakfast, everything in the room you could need
Okay 4.0
This hotel was part of Virgin Experience deal with a stadium to of Anfielld. First room given was dirty, cobwebs with a spider on it. Leaky valve on radiator which had soaked the carpet. Tired old furniture was dirty. Didn't feel comfortable at all and the room smelt of damp. Second room offered was a bit better but still had faults. Loose toilet seat and bathroom door had been re-hung but with hinges in different position and holes hadn't been filled in nor re- painted. Furniture still looked tired. Bling on one window didn't have a cord so had to close it by pulling blind down by hand. Very very disappointed and couldn't wait to leave the next morning. Also location was too far from city centre let alone Anfield. Definitely wouldn't recommend hotel and wouldn't use Virgin Experience again. Better off booking Your own tour/hotel

Okay 5.0
Pros: was ok
Cons: too cold in room no heating at all no lights in garden for parking not good
Good 7.0
Cons: Couldn’t adjust Water shower temperature
Good 7.0
Pros: The location was good
Cons: The double bed sunk in and squeaked Just one power plug which was half way across the room
Okay 5.0
Pros: Location was good for our planned weekend
Cons: Decoration, space and cleanliness
Poor 1.0
Pros: The staff were okay, not really helpful but not unpleasant either.
Cons: The worst thing was that we arrived tired and couldn't access the property. Eventually my girlfriend got them on the phone and we had to traipse all the way to different premises, where they gave us the key, and then we had to traipse all the way back. The heating was on very, very high and we suffered extreme discomfort from that. The inexcusable thing is the extreme dishonesty - we were never warned that we would have to traipse all the way to another building and back, and we were so very very tired from the journey.
Good 7.0
Pros: it smelt strongly of marijuana shower not very powerful
Cons: the bed was very comfy there was free parking it was very clean lots of space in the room
Good 6.0
Pros: The location
Cons: The rooms were very spacious
