Le Bel Air Resort Luang Prabang - Luang Prabang - Building
1
9.6 Excellent (127 reviews)
Overview Reviews
With a stay at Le Bel Air Resort Luang Prabang, you'll be centrally located in Luang Prabang, within a 10-minute drive of Night Market and Morning Market. Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, a 24-hour front desk, and multilingual staff. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours), and free valet parking is available onsite.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is lovely situated on the Nam Khan river banks, inside a green garden and with a large pool with many sunbeds and umbrellas. I booked a bungalow which ensured a lot of living and storage space, a very stylish furniture, a large and comfortable bed, a frigo bar with also complimentary water, fresh fruit basket on arrival, excellent WIFI and a beautiful terrace. The staff was very kind and helpful all the time. I had no problem for an early check-in.
Cons: The hotel was not very close to downtown (20-25 minutes walking) and there were no tuk-tuk in the area since the closeby bridge is only for scooters (tuk-tuk and cars had to do a much longer way). The bamboo bridge, which in principle was the shorter walking way to dowtown, was broken (I had to take a boat to cross the river). There was also a free shuttle from the hotel to be booked about one hour in advance (may it be could be helpful to have it also at least at some fixed hours from downtown). The breakfast was surprisingly quite poor for a 4 star hotel (no local food). There were several small ants in the room, so no food should be left in.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A nice hotel with great pool area and with friendly and helpful staff. Clean rooms with comfortable beds and nice soft pillows.
Cons: Unfortunately our room rate did not include complimentary breakfast. And that $20 US per person for breakfast was a little expensive particularly, as our stay was low season. This made us go elsewhere for most of our meals and all our breakfasts.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is perfect, view on the river. Breakfast is very good. The personnel and the staff are excellent, very friendly, and they read your questions, so you not have to ask ! This is in my opinion one of the places to stay in Luang Prabang. For me as a frequent traveller this resort is the best I ever visited.
Cons: None
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great resort. We even decided to come back after a trip into the jungle and got upgraded to a separate bungalow. Beautiful big room. Enormous bathroom and wonderful bed. The poon are is lovely and you are right by the river. Restaurant is good too. While you are in very peaceful surroundings at the hotel, town is only a walk away. Think it took us about 10-15 minutes to get into town.
Cons: Nothing.
7.5 Good
Pros: The triple room size with en-suite bathroom and terrace (1/F) was good and bed were comfortable. Safety box, fridge, aircon, outdoor furniture, slippers, bathroom items were welcome. The pool was just great. The restaurant was a nice place with its outdoor terrace. Walking distance to the centre (15 to 20min)
Cons: All extra services were expensive (restaurant, taxi, tours, beverage,...) that is why we used other suppliers The men service in restaurant can be improved. There is no shuttle service (or basic arrangement) from hôtel to city center so you need to walk across the old bridge (which can be scary by night or rainy day) or use a 40000tak tuk tuk to be driven there (using another bridge) but it is right there are also free bikes to rent. The night price is quite expensive for Lao.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: From arrival to departure everything perfect! The team on spot is eager to fulfill all guest needs and requests. The rooms are beautifully decorated, WiFi very fast and the pool just leaves you breathless and makes the perfect holiday. Would book here again.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Clean, comfortable rooms. Staff really friendly and helpful especially in booking restaurants and activities. The pool is fabulous and enjoyed using the bikes to go sightseeing.

Satri House - Luang Prabang - Building

9.4 Excellent (502 reviews)

Featured amenities include complimentary newspapers in the lobby, dry cleaning/laundry services, and a 24-hour front desk. A roundtrip airport shuttle is provided for a surcharge (available 24 hours).
6.8 Good
Pros: Staff, location, ambiance and decor.
Cons: Same breakfast every day, poor attention to detail and more reactive than proactive approach.
9.6 Excellent
Cons: No AC in Spa
10.0 Excellent
Pros: A most beautiful property with traditional features exquisitely and tastefully furnished. Beautiful lily pond, garden and lounge. The staff are very attentive and can’t do enough for you.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Dailek and Banthi were wonderful and very helpful. They made the stay feel like we were not outsiders. Additionally, the pool is gorgeous and the afternoon snacks were delicious.
Cons: There was an issue with the A/C in our first room and it took a while to figure out it was broken which was poorly communicated. Though it happens that A/C breaks down, I was fairly disappointed that a high end hotel like this one they did not change us to a better room or offer some complementaries as a result; we ended up getting a room that was not as nice (and they kindly offered to let us sleep in one and move to another the following night but it was all a tad too complicated for a short stay). That said, this is in the details and a lovely hotel overall! The only other thing is that laundry is WAY TOO EXPENSIVE and you can get it done next door to close to nothing with lovely locals.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Building style and resort layout including room decor and size plus lovely gardens made Satri House a special place to stay
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Practically everything. The calm. The attentiveness of the staff. The beautiful location. The great breakfast. The ever-attentive, but not intrusive manager.
Cons: Honestly, very little. We had a mix up with a spa booking, which was a genuine mistake. Nevertheless, the hotel offered us complementary services that more than made up for any inconvenience.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: It’s a beautiful building and grounds, very nicely decorated. Swimming pool good size and clean Breakfast was terrific Staff very friendly and helpful. Bed very comfortable, A/C worked well. It was in quiet neighborhood a short walk to center of town.
Cons: Would have been nice to have an exercise room. The chair in the room small and not very comfortable,
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This was a lovely, lovely place to stay. Super, friendly staff. Lovely ambience at breakfast.
Cons: We only spent four days there.
7.9 Good
Pros: Enjoyable, quiet retreat with beautiful gardens and pools. Excellent service by the staff, who were so helpful even after I checked out of the hotel (for example, they let me use showers when I came to pick up my luggage after a day of elephant brushing). Delicious food and great rooms with their own balconies or private patios. The two swimming pools, though small, were well-maintained and great for wiling away the hours reading a book. There are lots of seating areas for just quiet relaxation. Has very special touches: each day they give you a little Laos treat in your room, like rice desserts and coconut pancakes. You're guaranteed a safe neighborhood too: it's right across from the local version of a police station.
Cons: I think my only complaint would be the rather dim rooms. I stayed in a lower-floor deluxe room and the sunshine wasn't getting in too much so I had to use the lamps quite a bit. If you want to be close to the night markets or temples, it's a bit of a walk away, but manageable.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Attention from staff was excellent--Robert, the manager was so friendly, helpful & informative. The gardens & pools were peaceful & serene. Breakfast --great tasty selection
Thongbay Guesthouse Luang Prabang - Luang Prabang - Building

9.4 Excellent (199 reviews)
Overview Reviews

8.8 Excellent
Pros: The jungle feel, very authentic experience. The bungalows were beautiful and the breakfast was yummy.
Cons: The wifi constantly dropped out. I would recommend that a stronger system is installed.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were friendly and helpful The shuttle into city was easy to use. Fantastic breakfast All was great
Cons: Nothing
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I would definitely recommend the riverside bungalow. The views are gorgeous and it's very private and peaceful. Breakfast is huge and delicious and there's a lot to choose from. The bungalow is very big and comfortable. Free water refills, free bikes, free shuttle to the center, a refreshing pool and friendly smiles are other perks of this place.
Cons: I liked it all
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a wonderful stay at a riverside bungalow here: the surroundings and the garden provide a stunning setting; all staff were helpful and made special efforts to make us feel at home; the room is spacious, super clean, and stylish. Breakfast is served on the patio of the bungalow; and there is a regular shuttle service to/ from the center of town.
Cons: If you don't mind a location outside the peninsula heart of town and if the price does not provide an obstacle, then I can see no drawbacks (perhaps with the exception of the mediocre wifi connection inside our bungalow at the edge of the hotel).
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The cabins overlooking the river were private and it was lovely getting breakfast on the balcony. The breakfast was AMAZING. Free bicycles for use (which I used every day) and free shuttle to/from town. Everything was super clean and the staff were lovely.
Cons: They could have offered more information about things to do in town and also practical advice about seeing by waterfalls. They said flip flops would be enough (but you definitely need covered shoes if you want to climb up)
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location was peaceful, a bit further outside of Luang Prabang then I anticipated. But the Guesthouse has a free shuttle service which worked really well for getting in and out of town. The bungalows are charming, the beds are comfortable and the bathroom is a nice size with a good functioning shower. Breakfast is served on the private terrace of your bungalow. The quality and quantity of the food was good with a nice mix of fresh fruits, bread, eggs and even noodle soup. The people are lovely and go out of their way to help you. We very much enjoyed our stay here.
Cons: The only minor things are not really the fault of the guesthouse, like the wifi not being strong enough at times. And in June Laos is extremely hot so in the daytime the air-conditioning and fan in the bungalows have a hard time keeping it cool. Though at night the temperature indoors was cool enough to sleep.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We had a fantastic stay here. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Nothing was too hard for them. The breakfast was fantastic and delivered to your room punctually. Great choices should suit anybody. The gardens were lovely and the view from the balcony was great. Out of town a little bit but only 5 minutes in the courtesy bus. Also free use of bicycles was fun. would highly recommend.
Cons: Couldn't really fault this place. The pool was across the lane but that wasn't a problem. The pool was pristine. Only issue was that you couldn't really walk to town but it didn't bother us.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: I stayed at Thongbay with a friend and Could not have been more satisfied with the guest house. Our bungalow overlooked a beautiful garden and every morning we had a delicious breakfast on the porch. The staff was incredibly helpful and organized transportation throughout Luang Prabang for the whole stay. The bungalow was clean and comfortable. Air conditioning was a huge plus!
Cons: The location is a bit far from the center of town, but they do have a free shuttle that runs several times during the day. It would have been nice to have had a little more flexibility in terms of our ability to get into the main part of town, but we made it work!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Breakfast and dinner were delicious and stuffs were kind. Everything is clean. There are a lot of green, and it's near liver. I really relaxed with beautiful environment.
Cons: Some geckos came in our room. They are not dangerous but I felt scared a bit.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: All staffs I met are gentle, and breakfast was big and delicious:)
Cons: It’s a little bit far from the city, but they took us to the city by a car. So you don’t need to worry about it too much
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great staff location breakfast found a secret hideaway that we will never forget staff beautiful
Cons: Everything was wonderful

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing setup and location, well worth the money.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was perfect. Location, service, staff and breakfast, all outstanding. The hotel grounds are impeccable, the lotus ponds are gorgeous.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Oh this was the best place we have ever stayed in a long time! It was so beautiful, we literally did not want to leave! We were upgraded for our room, which had lovely views of the pool, the breakfast was heavenly, and service unmatched. The dinner in the restaurant was out of this world. The staff went out their way to help us...I wasn't feeling very well one evening, probably from the combination of the heat and air conditioning, and they brought me a nice little dinner tray to the room. Wonderful place to stay in Luang Prabang, very customer focused and the focus is on the comfort of the guests.
Cons: We liked everything really! Hotel was a bit far from the main area of town, but we walked or took tuk-tuks.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The gardens and ponds within this hotel were the most beautiful tropical paradise and the nicest surprise. We stayed in the cheapest room and it was comfortable and lovely even though it didn't have an outdoor seating area. We stayed another two nights in a Heritage room and it was exactly the same but had a bath and outdoor seats, so you'll be happy no matter how much you pay. The breakfast.. AMAZING! Pool area great for reading during the day. The spa treatments were professional and relaxing.
7.9 Good
Pros: Boutique hotel a little walk away from the town centre. Will take around 5-10 mins to reach main centre depending which attractions you are seeing. Hotel has Tuks Tuks outside if you require these. Great breakfast.
Cons: Pool is quite small for the amount of people staying on site. Key for room needed to be left everytime we left the room at concierge. Wifi is poor.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is beautiful. The breakfast is great with a view onto the beautiful lily pond. The rooms are spacious, the beds comfortable and the staff super friendly. This is the best hotel I have ever stayed in.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Scenery, rooms beautiful views, food lovely and wide variety, coctails very tasteful, staff just excellent(fantastic)..incredibly kind and supportive staff. Great location and very easy to go by free shuttle to Luang Prabang centre (max 10 minutes). Facilities like swimmingpools, spa and massage are excellent too. Recommending this place to visit and stay ! Thanks team of Pullman Luang Prabang..you and mr Durant have been able to create a huge very pleasant and warm difference. We love to come back to your resort !!! Warm regards and big thanks for making our stay such a great experience :-)
Cons: Nothing, just a wonderful resort, wich we are very thankful to experience. This team made a big cherry on the cake of our so far beautiful trip in Laos even better.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Pullman is away from the busy center town so we can more enjoy the peaceful moments there. Staffs are very friendly and always trying to help. Foods are pretty beautiful and reasonable price.
Cons: The check in was so slow, it can be more efficient. The complementary shuttle service to town should increase the frequency.
7.5 Good
Pros: The breakfast is top notch and one of the best I've ever seen in a resort. Beware when booking on booking.com that it will come up with breakfast or you will have to pay $12 per person per day for it like we did.
Cons: The internet is just bad period, it rarely worked and the hotel staff wanted to send someone to our room to show us how to connect to the internet 3days after being there. Also, they will try and make you take their tuk-tuks and taxis to town, we hate that kind of travel and love to do our own thing, we walked to the road and caught our own rides for just a few dollars.
6.7 Good
Pros: The property it's self and the service of se staff - Rowan and Hugo.
Cons: No service at the pool - drinks and food near impossible to order. In the end over 2 hours at the pool with no drinks - had to walk to reception to ask for service, still took another hour after this. Toliet didn't flush in the room, overflowed first night. During rain advised to walk back from restaurant, as there was no buggy available (there was) - we got drenched while staff stayed dry. Ordered additional towels with room service - never arrived.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great gardens, Kind staffs, Large pools, Amazing restaurant.
Cons: There was no barbell at the gym, but a smith machine.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful location, comfortable bed and very friendly and helpful staff. It was very quiet and clean.
Cons: The bedroom had lots of lights that stayed on through the night (little red leds on devices and sockets that were annoying and made it difficult to sleep) and the food was not served very hot, despite there being only one other table taken in the restaurant. It was however very tasty.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Awesome stay, clean, riding the bike around the property, pool life, combined with rice fields and view of mountains, gym was up to date, workmanship, but the staff go the extra mile, soo polite, helping and greeting. shout out to the GM female, Thony and Rohan helped out a lot. decent prices for tours via private driver if you ask the guys at the desk...the lifts from rooms using the buggy
Cons: had blackouts at night, aircon cut out a few times, aircon cutting out I thought it wasn't strong enough...there was a roof fan. bar fridge wasn't cold. Bit for from town, so 50k cost to or from town if you don't get the schedule lift from Pullman
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The location is great, only 4km from the town, so peaceful and very relaxing, with amazing view. The hotel provided shuttle bus to town, very convenient. The room itself is great. The staffs are amazing!! I’ve been traveling a lot, and the staffs in this hotel gave us the most amazing services by far.
Cons: We had problem with water heater on the first day, but the staff sort it out. Due to this, the hotel compliment us with very late check out, what an amazing service! We need to turn the fan on to support AC, as the room is big and not cold enough for us, and Luang Prabang is really hot. But, after the fan on, everything is fine :)
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was amazing! The rooms are new and clean, very spacious, pools were nice as well. Very satisfied with breakfast - a lot of Eastern/Western cuisine choices. Super appreciate the mosquito solution they spray around the territory - I always get bitten to half-death by mosquitos in South East Asia, but not this time. Yoga, Thai boxing, SPA activities can be booked during stay. The staff were super helpful, helped us arrange transportation at all times, and the city center hotel shuttle is very convenient too. The hotel territory is very spacious, so you rarely even meet other guests. Waterfalls are a half hour shuttle ride away, same as the city center. Superb scenery too - mountains, rice terraces and serenity. Excellent experience all around and highly recommended!

Pros: The staff was amazing. They were extremely friendly and willing to help in any way possible. Some of the best service that you can get from a hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: This hotel is beautiful. A careful upgrade of a colonial house, the rooms are tastefully decorated. The place is spotless with the double level mezzanine bed area giving it a romantic feel. The hotel has a superb deck next to the Mekong which provides a lovely spot to sit and have a drink and watch the river boats drift by. The old town in Luang Prabang is like a postcard and this hotel is one of the highlights. A mention to the lovely staff who were friendly, helpful and effiicnet in recommendations and bookings. The food in the hotel is also worth the visit.
Cons: Take care coming down the stairs from the bed at night
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Great service, excelent location, very good breakfast with an amazing view. This place, as well as Luang Prabang itself, was way above our expectations. We will def be back and will most def book again in this Boutique Hotel.
Cons: If you are of light sleep, make sure you have a good wine glass before going to bed as you will hear noise from outside and walking within the hotel. Honestly, not the worst of things for us, and def not to miss the opp of staying here.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Just about everything. The staff was fantastic. Breakfast was exceptional. The room opening to the sidewalk gave it an apartment feel. The view of the Mekong was relaxing.
Cons: It was warm and humid.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Excellent location. The hotel is superb and the staff friendly and professional.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This little hotel didn’t miss a thing. From a friendly, attentive staff, a great location with fantastic views, free sunset cruise with a complimentary drink, breakfast available all day long so one can enjoy at their convenience, not at a time convenient for the hotel, goodies refilled in the room everyday, providing shuttle service to and from the airport for a small fee to late checkout if they can accommodate are all that made this hotel a gem.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Really nice hotel and the terrace restaurant has a great view. Very peaceful and just what we needed following a hectic time in some big cities around Asia. Very helpful stay who were happy to try and accommodate us. The book in the room had lots of helpful hints and tips and really helped during our stay.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: It was in a great location. The staff were the best!! Very personable.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Nice location, nice building, very friendly and helpfull personal. Service with a big smile.
Cons: A swimming pool would be nice but is impossible at this location.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely wonderful. I loved my stay! A gorgeous hotel, comfortable, a great location, and very friendly staff. They also gave great tips for how to best participate in the alms ceremony and other tips (the guide they have in the rooms is really helpful). Plus the free bikes and sunset cruise are lovely perks!

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Super clean, quiet, very friendly staff, felt very safe which was important because our daughters were in the room next door, great pool which we often had to ourselves, the restaurant is open all day and the prices are comparable to restaurants near the night market, excellent breakfast with many choices, 10-12 minute walk to the old town but also has a free shuttle, the hotel has recos for drivers to Kuang Si and will arrange for guests (the price is in the typical range), an airport shuttle is free if guests have an extended stay at the hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Hotel was amazing, clean and extremely comfortable with excellent facilities. The staff were extremely friendly, welcoming and eager to help at every moment and couldn’t do enough to ensure I had the perfect experience.
Cons: Towards the end of my stay a large group arrived which were extremely noisy. Although this is no fault of the hotel it might help the group to be reminded they are not the only hotel guests and they could be more considerate of others. (Especially as of the proximity of guest rooms to the pool and restaurant area).
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The hotel staff were outstanding . The property is real value for money.
Cons: Should have few vegetarian option in the restaurant menu.

6.3 Good
Pros: The room was very clean. Free drinking water was good in the heat. The air con was also very good in the room.
Cons: The breakfast was not very good at all. My wife ordered vegetarian breakfast and the food came out with bacon, ham and sausages. When she repeated her order the same food came back with the meat removed. There was still meat juices all over everything else. We didn't eat there again.

7.9 Good
Pros: Very nice and wellcoming staff. Beautiful views
Cons: Didn’t like the bathroom very much. Showering in the bathtub not very convenient.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I have never thought I would ever give a hotel 10/10 and here we go! - Beautiful colonial-style property in the middle of the jungle - extremely quite and private, yet a stone throw to the vibrant city center of Luang Prabang (10-15 minutes walk, 5 min by bicycle which they have for free). Amazing facilities, including 24/7 infinity pool, on-site restaurant with local cuisine, bar with signature cocktails, great gym, fantastic spa (I got the second 60 min massage for free!) with another beautiful pool (much cooler than infinity one) and sauna, not mentioning the rooms with incredible views and attention to every little detail. - Constant, but completely invisible and not annoying attention from the staff who all know your name and anticipate your every need and desire: i was gently notified in the morning that my table is ready for breakfast, was kindly reminded about my spa procedures during the day, the moment i sat down at any place of the hotel a cocktail and a variety of snacks appeared mysteriously by my side, my whole bunch of clothes was taken to the laundry and came back in a couple of hours smelling like heaven and they even repaired my torn jacket without any request from me. They gave me a handcrafted scarf as a goodbye gift during the check-out.. Cherry on the pie - half way through to the airport i asked the hotel's driver to make a quick stop at Mekong river as i hadn't got a chance to go to the town during my stay. Guess what? I received a 25-minutes private guided tour across the town instead. This is what I call a client-oriented approach! - I was lucky to be visiting the hotel during the low season - at the busiest time of my stay only 4 rooms were occupied and I never saw another person while exploring the hotel's territory, which was an amazing experience itself!
Cons: It will be great to have sockets a bit closer to the bed, but this is the only tiny thing i could think of!

Pros: The staff was phoenominal! From airport pick up from to airport drop off! The manager of the hotel introduced himself to us and made us feel welcome. All staff knew our names and were very interested to know our daily plans and if we were comfortable. We would stay here again and again! We would highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in or visiting Luang Prabang.

Pros: Beautiful property with balconies overlooking the Mekong River. The staff was so kind and attentive. The pool/spa is a short walk away from the hotel and it is a beautiful pool to spend the afternoon by. Breakfast at the Riverview restaurant is delightful.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location Nice boutique hotel Staff View
Cons: Be aware that this hotel is not in an area but includes some separate properties (ie: swimming pool is quite far from the reception, some rooms can be away ~100-200-300 m from the reception and restaurant, you have to go across the road to reach the restaurant...) so it could cause some inconvenience
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the hotel!! The rooms where lovely and the beds were the best we slept in in Laos!! Location was fantastic!
6.7 Good
Pros: The facilities are lovely and I really want to give this hotel an excellent rating. BUT - see below. The rooms are well decorated and water/tea/coffee provided. All the buildings are done in the style to comply with UNESCO standards. One night there was wine in the garden and it was lovely.
Cons: But I did NOT have hot water. I told the staff and they said it was fixed but it was not. Upon checking out I informed them again and he really didn't seem to care and only offered a half-hearted "sorry". This hotel was not cheap and I can't give higher marks. Also, the internet didn't work well in my room.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The agreeability of the staff.
Cons: The breakfast could have had more choice.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location by the Mekong.

9.6 Excellent
Pros: Amazing pearl in the beautiful city of Luang Prabang! Mr. Urban and his lovely team created a wonderful atmosphere and special place to relax and enjoy life! The little restaurant where the breakfast is served gives a stunning view on the Mekong. The food is great and at night time you‘ll enjoy your dinner in the light of little lanterns. The rooms are great and the team is willing to make everything possible!
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The design was beautiful
Cons: The pool was over the river, over a horribly rickety bridge which you had to pay 10k kip to cross.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Amazing location on the river. Rooms are nice with outside space not all have river views but they are lovely as is the location of the hotel. The breakfasts are terrific and the seating is on the river with lovely views. Staff was helpful and very friendly.

Pros: My wife and I stayed at this property for a quick get away, it was by far the best hotel experience we have ever had. The staff were excellent, friendly and attentive. The General Manager came to chat with the guest each morning providing a personal and warm feeling. The room was beautiful French colonial design with a balcony that opened up to the pristine hotel grounds that was covered in the most beautiful trees and gardens. The room was clean and bed was super comfortable. The food is beyond words, the chef at the restaurant has the perfect touch, combining French and Laos influences into some of the best dishes we have ever had in Asia (we have been living in Asia for 3 years). The bar is also wonderful emanating old French vibes, the pool is tranquil and calm -- with cocktails and food poolside which are to die for! We cannot recommend this property enough.
Cons: Not one single thing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Excellent ambiance, wonderful & helpful staff, great breakfast.
7.9 Good
Cons: They hide behind booking.com to justify that they overcharge us. Without even trying to help finding a solution. Not very service oriented for a 5 stars property.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Absolute phenomenal experience!!!
Cons: Couldn’t be any better !!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: This hotel has a main building with lobby, bar, and restaurant. In the park there is a large swimming pool. There are also 8 pavilions. Each pavilion has 4 rooms: 2 on the ground floor and 2 on the first floor. Some pavilions are named after a French pioneer in French Indochina. We had a room on the first floor of the pavilion named after Auguste Pavie. The room was large and beautiful. The bathroom was large and beautiful. There is a balcony with 2 chairs and a table. On the wall of the balcony there is a metal wire you can pull out and connect to a hook on the railing. Use this metal wire to hang up your wet swim suit when you have been to the swimming pool. Breakfast was included in the price of the room. It was delicious. There is Wi-Fi all over the hotel. It is free and it works well. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The manager showed up at our table when we were having breakfast the first morning. He wanted to meet us and talk to us. This was a very nice gesture. (In most hotels you never get to see the manager. Even if you try.) The hotel has more than a dozen bikes which are available to guests for free. With a bike you can ride all over Luang Prabang. The hotel has a free shuttle minibus which runs between the hotel and the post office (in the evening). This is very convenient. We enjoyed our stay at this hotel. We would like to stay there again if we can. PS. In the high season, this hotel is very expensive. In the low season, you can enjoy this place for a much lower price. This way you get good value for your money.
Cons: There were some minor flaws: (1) There is no towel rack in the bathroom. We had to use the chairs on the balcony to hang up our wet towels. (2) The water tap in the shower is unusual. There is only one switch for pressure and temperature. There should be one switch for pressure and one switch for temperature. (3) The bikes do not have a basket to carry anything. Most of the bikes are not equipped with a light in front and rear. You can only ride in the daytime and you must carry your stuff in a backpack.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: amazing breakfast, wonderful rooms, helpful staff
7.5 Good
Pros: the spacious colonial style suite
Cons: the house keeping don't replenish the amenities in the room.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Delicious breakfast, soft silky bedding, attention to detail, small gifts, great staff and service, big rooms, beautiful views, well-kept gardens, free bicycles, vegetable garden and incredible pool
Cons: Nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything, it is such a beautiful atmospheric property with lush gardens a stunning pool area with a tastefully decorated restaurant, a real oasis to relax and day dream and sample the delicious food. Getting spoiled by the very attentive always smiling staff. The room was generous in space with an enormous very comfortable bed and a balcony to sit outside. Nothing was to much trouble, the food in the restaurant was delicious, a choice between Asian and western dishes. The two half day trips we booked through the hotel provided us with an excellent guide and were well worth to undertake. The shuttle service into town worked very well to visit the night market or for having dinner at one of the many restaurants in Luang Prabang. Also the airport transfers went totally smooth. When had to leave the manager and staff waved us goodbye like old friends and we were very sad to have to go.
Cons: My only regret is that we did not stay longer
5.0 Okay
Pros: The breakfast attendants who speak English well and the drivers who took us to the old town were always professional, but the others were not.
Cons: I have stayed in some hotels of SLH before. Therefore, I choose this hotel this time and look forward to this stay But the experience was rather disappointing: 1.Didn't turn on the air conditioner in the car and let us in the car at the first time that Employees are busy preparing work that should have been done before we arrived 2.The receptionist made us wait for a long time but forgot to check in with us Just ask a staff take us to our room because they were serving for two handsome men from Europe. They just remembered after they see us when we need use the car to going out 3.The bedding used in the hotel was of poor quality like guesthouse to use making sleep uncomfortable. 4.Daily cleaning only change rubbish bag and change bath towel, the floor was not cleaned and the bed is not well made. 5.Breakfast is easy maybe there aren't many guests. placemat is dirty you can see the dust on the it and it's plastic. 6. hotel staff have breakfast in the guest dining area at Breakfast time. Most of the staff lack basic training, are lax and lazy, especially the older receptionist in this hotel. If such a hotel can be called SLH that have many here even some guesthouse. We originally planned to stay for 5 nights, but we booked for 2 nights first. Now I feel this decision is right.I wanted to change hotels the first day I arrived

Pros: Excellent boutique hotel in a lush tropical setting. Nicely restored French period facility with all the modern amenities. Exceptional resturant for breakfast and dinner. Heĺpful and friendly staff. Quiet location within easy walking distance the center of town. A great stay!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful boutique hotel. Just outside of the main area so a nice walk into town. Fantastic service from the staff. It was my birthday and they delivered a lovely little cake to our room. The facilities were excellent with locally made soap provided, along with shampoo, conditioner and shower gel. We are planning on returning and I would book this hotel again. Our deal had a 2 way transfer to the airport which worked very well and removed that stress of the transfer.
Cons: Everything was wonderful.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Its location is perfect for biking (or walking) to the sights, the staff are very helpful and always happy to make recommendations, the guest relations manager Elodie makes everyone feel at home, and the property itself is a small delightful gem of a place.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The first morning we chose from the buffet breakfast but after that we were offered the menu to choose from. We're not sure why this changed but all of the choices were still available so it made no difference to us. Our room was outstanding, we stayed in room 6 and we can full recommend it. The swimming pool and the room's shower were especially good after a day of sightseeing!! All staff were always courteous, smiling and happy to practice their English. They made our stay very pleasant especially Elodie the Customer Relations Manager who went out of her way to be helpful and kind. We booked a couple of tours through the hotel at reasonable prices and even though the driver didn't speak much English he was very obliging. All in all a wonderful hotel and a very enjoyable stay!
Cons: The hotel is sprayed once a month (we think it's once but we could be wrong) for any bugs or nasties. However our stay fell just before the end of the month spraying and I got bitten a few times by the pool. It probably would have been far worse if they didn't spray. They also provide insect spray in the rooms and natural insect repellent. In fact the rooms are very well equipped.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, friendly staff, comfy beds, great breakfast, and quick response when setting up a taxi to and from the airport. I highly recommend this hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Very friendly staff, nice pool.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location, in a calmer street but super close to main street. Lovely buildings and rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff, good English. Great breakfast and capacity to adapt to allergies and food requirements.
Cons: The wifi was weak and kicking us out regularly. Bad soundproofing. Was hard to fall asleep certain evenings because of doors slamming, people talking loudly in other rooms, music on the streets. And in the morning we would get waken up pretty early by the house keeping staff talking and more doors slamming.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Walking distance to almost everything. Close to the Mekong River and many cafes, bars and restaurants where you can overlook the river and watch The Sunset.
Cons: Can’t think of anything we didn’t like.

Pros: The staff were fantastic and attentive- very friendly. We stayed here twice during out trip (hiking in between) and found it a comfortable and great value place with a touch if luxury. Welcome drinks, free bike hire, water top ups and fast wifi were all appreciated.
Cons: Whole the bikes were a wonderful way to get into town during the day, it is a bit of a distance for dinner or nights out - so plan to order some tuk tuks.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Comfy bed, attentive and helpful staff, yummy breakfast.
Cons: Perhaps a bit of a walk from the night market area.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Nearly perfect stay. Breakfast was so good! Bed was comfy. The staff was friendly and pro. The bicycles at disposition were very convenient. The garden is simply superb. If I ever come again to Luang Prabang, I will definitely stay at Parasol Blanc!
Cons: It might not be hotel's fault to be honest because Internet in Laos isn't that good in general, but Internet was sometimes unstable and I needed it for work.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I want to start by giving a big thank you to the stuff. Extremly profesional, always smiley and kind, they helped us with so many things (info, tips, arranging busses to travel arround). The hotel is located at around 20 min from the heart of the city (we walked slowly) but it's very quiet. Rooms were big, with soft beds and pillows, TV, fridge and a huge shower :) also there is a big balcony with confortable chairs. Restaurant serves very good food, and breakfast is just amazing with so many choices. Big garden with ponds and ducks :) We only stayed here 3 nights but it was extremly relaxing, confy, just loved it!
Cons: -
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Really nice hotel to stay in Luang Prabang. The staff was really nice and the rooms were comfortable. They provide free bikes to go around town which is nice
Cons: The location is a bit far from the center (but at least they provide free bycicles which makes it easier to do). Would be good if it had a pool
10.0 Excellent
Pros: I love everything of this hotel Will come back to stay again
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Amazing resort, very quiet and clean. Breakfast location is beautiful
Cons: A little outside from centre but free bicycles makes it perfect
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Loved the atmsophere, quiet and full of beautiful greenery. The room was also perfect, spacious and the belcony was lovely.
Cons: It is a bit far from the city centre, which isn't ideal but tuk tuks are reasonable and they have bikes available as well. The AC was not very strong for some of the really warm days.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Parasol Blanc highly exceeded every single one of our expectations for our time in Luang Prabang, so much that we even extended our time here by 2 days. From the gorgeous grounds, to the colonial style buildings, to the wonderful bike rental, everything was perfect. Not to mention the staff: everyone we met was so warm, helpful, and truly anticipated our every need. Everything felt incredibly luxurious. I can't recommend the hotel highly enough!
Cons: nothing!
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The team on spot is so friendly and helpful as well as in the restaurant. Location of the property is fantastic, easy reachability to the night market, restaurants, etc. however I would suggest you to stay in the hotel restaurant as it has a spectacular location with a special ambience. Highly recommended!!

Pros: The hotel provided waterproof pouches and mega super-soaker for the Pi Mei celebrations. Lovely touch.
Cons: Nothing not to like. Only shame is that they don't have a pool.

8.3 Excellent
Pros: staffs are friendly. Location is good.
Cons: At the back of the building is too close to others. not privacy. we cannot see anything.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Friendly, helpful staff, beautiful surroundings and perfect location.
6.3 Good
Pros: Colonial period room decor evocative of the charm and romance during those times. Hotel has an excellent laid-back atmosphere that allows you to while your time away on its premises or by the river in the lower terrace. Lovely spa on premises. Breakfast comes with a daily special that offers variety and a taste of local flavors. Menu served by the restaurant is limited but of decent quality.
Cons: Was given a room on the ground floor that afforded little privacy since tourists and vehicles abound. The windows have to be left open for light to enter the room. Closing the windows gave more privacy but darkened the room considerably. As the room was very near the roadside, it was noisy whenever vehicles passed which happened very frequently throughout the morning and evenings. Service was overall patchy.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Hotel provided a different cultural experience everyday, Almsgiving, market visit and cooking class, sunset cruise, cocktails and staff went out of their way to make these comfortable, educational and enriching. Food in the restaurant was excellent, especially the lunch we had on arrival, very fresh, exquisitely prepared and presented. Breakfast was delightful with the special of the day, a local speciality as well as eggs to order, yogurt, fruit, a variety of breads. We were upgraded to a balcony room overlooking the river, such a wonderful view of trees, plants and butterflies. The room was spacious, the wood so traditional, yet the shower in the room itself unusually modern in the French style. Coconut - based toiletries gave us a taste of the traditional materials in Lao culture, the kettle and provided chamomile tea were very welcome. The effort to reduce waste is also very good as we noticed that the use of plastic is minimal. Most of all, the kind and caring staff made us feel special and that they valued our visit and enjoyed sharing their culture with us.
Cons: Lighting could be brighter at the mirrors as the shadows prevented us from seeing our faces clearly. We just assumed there was a pool but understand that the Unesco restriction doesn't permit it. Maybe a bathtub is preferable to a shower for a soak in the hot weather?
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The location is excellent as it is walking distance for all the sights. The hotel has bikes which are an excellent way to get around. We crossed to the other side of the river and explored a bit of the countryside. The staff are absolutely charming. The hotel is lovely and Luang Prabang has a wonderful calm energy.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: The staff were amaxing! Good breakfast. Very relaxed and elegant environment.
Cons: The shower water was very frustrating! It kept changing from very hot to cold. Made having a shower a disappointing experience.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Style, spa, staff, location
Cons: Bathroom not separated from the sleeping area of the room
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Staff were really friendly and the location was great. There were lots of activities available such as the cooking class and Alms giving.
Cons: I didn’t like the open bathroom style personally. Also our room was quite dark and it was confusing to figure out which switch turned off which light.
8.5 Excellent
Pros: The design of the room was great. Good location facing Nang Khan river. Breakfast wad great as well as staff were very friendly.
Cons: Bathroom was too dark.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The room and facilities in general. Very good breakfast

Pros: Location was excellent and I was very pleased by the staff. Mr. Sone went out of his way to help me retrieve a credit card lost in the local ATM. Many thanks to him and the rest of the staff
Cons: Everything was great

Pros: The staff went out of their way to ensure we were happy and content. There was an excellent spa on site.

Pros: elegant hotel with beautiful gardens and setting. the staffs are friendly and attentive. the manager even brought us for a new year ceremony with local monks which was amazing and quite an experience for us as foreigners. and their breakfast got excellent quality as we don't value quantity.
Cons: we saw another guest smoking at the restaurant during our breakfast which ruined our quality time and clean morning air as well. prefer the whole hotel to be smoke-free otherwise please make one particular corner, away from the restaurant, for smokers.

Cons: Same breakfast everyday

Pros: Great hotel, wonderful staff. Very friendly, lovely area. We did a cooking class which was fantastic - manymthanks to the chef, John, who was amazing. Highly recommend this lovely hotel.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Received a very warm welcome by the staff and we were greeted with some cold towel and iced drink before getting a tour of the hotel complex and our room. The hotel is perfectly posh and tranquil and we really can't find any fault with it. The room has everything you would need, is spotlessly clean, and the bed is probably the most comfortable bed ever. There was also a complimentary foot massage upon arrival, to our pleasant surprise. The service by the staff was also impeccable and we were very pleased with our stay! Highly recommended if you are visiting Luang Prabang!
Cons: The hotel is some distance away from old town but there's an option to rent a free bike and there is also free hotel shuttle service at certain timings. Toilet could really use a bidet spray but it's not a big issue.

Pros: Lum, the owner, met me when I arrived. Instead of starting the standard checkin most hotels do he said "Please have a seat." Almost immediately a plate of fresh fruit and a fruit shake appeared. Lum said to relax and enjoy. When I was finished, Lum sat down with me and a map of Luang Prabang. He then proceeded to show me many places of interest, places to eat, night market, fresh food market, etc. which he marked for me on the map. This map saved me hours of looking online for info and hours of wandering down the wrong streets. Plus some of the places he recommended I would not have found on my own. Throughout my stay it was like this. Lum, his wife, and staff going the extra mile. They treat you like family. I arrived a stranger, but left feeling like they were my friends. The room was nice. Bed was comfortable. Free laundry is included. The breakfast was yummy and a good selection of choices. The location was great! I will be going back soon!!!
Cons: There is a sports pub not far away that plays crappy pop music and is kind of loud at night. Apparently they are violating local noise ordinances, so hopefully it will no longer be a problem soon.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location. Clean rooms. The owners are lovely, they were just never there.
Cons: Absolutely no information provided on check in about.. anything. Not ideal when travelling alone. Never anyone on reception which made it impossible to book tours, make enquiries etc. Really loud party across the road the first night, they did finish at 11.30 however. The staff apart from the owners have no English which is fine, but were also really unfriendly. The balcony does not overlook the river.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The property is situated on a excellent location. The staff was super friendly and their service was brilliant. They service English breakfast in morning and it exceeded my expectations with the taste and quality.
Cons: Everything was more than expected..
6.7 Good
Pros: It was nice and quiet. I loved being able to have breakfast at the table just outside of my room. Very tranquil little place.
Cons: I booked a double room online but I was then given a room with two twin beds on the bottom floor. The rate stayed the same.

Pros: The best thing is the owners and his family. They are so kind, friendly and supported us so well. We did laundry here at the best rate. Highly recommend! And another thing - the location is perfect

Pros: Staff was lovely. Location was perfect, room was a decent size with a balcony. We also booked a motorbike and a taxi back to the airport through them. They were also helpful regarding information about the town and surrounding activities
Cons: The room and bathroom could do with some maintenance.

Pros: The owner upgraded our room for free, the room is spacy and with a balcony! Drinking water served everyday~~ The owners of the homestay is a Vietnamese family, they are so kind with fluent English, we've had a great relax here, thanks a lot!
Cons: The breakfast is so simple that we can't get full. The location of the basin and tolet paper scroll are unfit, but isn't important~

Cons: nothing to complain about

Pros: This was our third stay and it was every bit as good if not better than the first two. We had a large room with big bed covered with mosquito netting. The bathroom was modern but the hotel was wooden and felt like something from the early 20th century. The staff kept it clean. We had a terrace overlooking the garden. The breakfasts were excellent both western and Laotian.
Cons: Not much. Staff smoothed over any wrinkles.

Cons: Nothing

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Staff were fantastic. Nor and Bird especially.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Souk the breakfast guy remembered me and my coffee order from my last trip. A great team friendly and easygoing.
Cons: Can be a bit noisy because of location but aside from that wouldn’t change a thing.
9.4 Excellent
Pros: This was our fourth trip and every bit as good as the other times we had hoped and requested rooms we'd had before but the staff worked to find us one as good. The staff bends over to make the stay momorable and succeeded. Recommended highly.
Cons: Not much. Food was better than last time. The hotel used to have a small shop but that's gone. I had bought great gifts in the past.
7.1 Good
Pros: Location and staff. But there is plenty more hotels in this area with the same and more. Cheaper.
Cons: Just not up to scratch.
5.0 Okay
Pros: The General Manager who is in charge of the Sofitel and this property was charming.
Cons: There were discrepancies or should I say a large differential in prices the hotel quoted and what was available. For example transfer to/from the hotel was @ USD 22 whereas available rate was @ USD 8/10 one way and similarly for the excursions / tours. I can understand such differences in other developed countries but not Laos. Food / cuisine also quite expensive.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hotel, beautiful decor, very good food and service, wonderful location!
