lots of noise, not enough parking,
The Big Pines is named eponymously as it sits on a street of very tall redwood pines. The staff is very nice! It is quiet and sheltered, though the view are all facing the parking lots. Still, a great place to stay, very clean with hardwood floors and good AC, TV with many many channels, and very close to the Lakeside Beach. Don't forget to get your free BEACH PASS, a savings of $15 per family. The beach is private and beautiful just down the hill, and four blocks from stateline road and the Nevada border. The town is GI_GORGEOUS, spanking new like Jackson Hole Wy, very beautiful with pines everywhere. Safeways 7-11 3 drugstore chains Starbucks and some lovely breakfast places and Riva Grill for cocktails on the lake.
Big Pines is fine! And there are also some public beaches too. Now if you drive north along the rt 50 and 28 to see the sights along the lake, be aware, the State of Nevada park service are morons. There are almost no scenic view turnouts along the road, in spite of the awesome scenery, and they have gone out of their way to mark NO PARKING wherever it is possible to get a nice view. There are TWO spots near Incline Village at the north end with parking, but they work hard to close off those two spots with cones and maintain the ample parking lots there pristinely empty and undisturbed so as to protect the gravel. Idiots really. That said there is a lovely boardwalk at the entrance of Incline village tat extends roughly 4 miles but again ZERO parking nearby. So if you are ready to walk a very long way or be dropped off from a moving car you can enjoy the beautiful lakescapes there. If you are older, disabled, or can't walk far, the State of Nevada message to you is - you can go jump in a lake.
The rooms are nice and the pool is good.
I will never ever stay there again. Staff is very rude they speak to u very bad.. In 3 nights we were there they were not able to provide us with new towels or extra pillows.
The bed was uncomfortable
The power shut off
Close to casinos. Room decent size. Table and two chairs for eating/writing, plus comfort chair.
Advertisement says breakfast included. WRONG! Why pay for a service not provided. Pool on small size. Good for small kids. Toilet in direct view of windows and front door if bathroom door open
