Excellent 10.0
Pros: Besides having both the best coffee and the most beautiful/scenic roof terrace in Stone Town, this hotel has maybe the friendliest and most cute staff on the island. I loved every single minute in this hotel. The rooms are spacious, antique with no traces of "old/unmaintained". The hotel is run by Noreen, who was very attentive and hospitable. I appreciate every recommendation she gave us on places to visit in Stone Town as well as organizing for us day trips to Jozani Forest and the spice farm. We also got a room upgrade! Thank you so much for making our stay memorable! Note that some rooms have separate (but private) bathrooms on the same floor, not an issue for us but you might want to consider that when choosing your room.
Cons: -
Excellent 10.0
Pros: excellent breakfast, we could order from the menu and it was all included. coffee tasted so good. nice welcome amenities on the room (beauty/spa). also they make sure the coffee theme can be found in every corner at the hotel. even the room keys wont make you forget you're staying at a coffee house. also the staff was super nice and helpful. roof top is exclusively for in house guests after 6 PM. the view is 360 degrees over the city. WIFI very reliable. beach is 10 min walking distance. great hotel. we will come back. PS: the coffee they sell tastes so good. I recommend to buy Rift Valley Coffee.
Cons: maybe some noise at night coming from the city but I guess it is not their fault. :)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: exceptional personal care by the owner noreen exceptional breakfast & coffee (spice coffee!!) attentiveness & friendlyness of staff also exceptional noreen works hard to maintain a super-friendly team super-central location near the market and the main streets we felt at home from the moment we arrived till we left
Excellent 10.0
Pros: We stayed at Coffee House for one night while passing through Stone Town and experienced the best hospitality we have seen in Zanzibar. We were greeted so nicely by the manager Noreen, our room was upgraded, the hotel left little gifts on the bed and welcomed us on their rooftop with a drink. Highly recommend this beautiful secret spot for a comfortable stay. The head of housekeeping prepared us a delicious breakfast early because we had a ferry to catch. 10/10 - do not hesitate to stay at this hotel.
Cons: Everything was perfect!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: A lovely traditional Zanzibar Coffee House. Amazing staff, everyone was very friendly and helpful. If you are looking for a traditional, quaint property with a bit of a difference in an amazing location, then this is for you. Thoroughly enjoyed it
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful rooms Very tasty breakfasts (and good coffee) Lovely staff that really went the extra mile to make our stay memorable Helped organise a v nice walking tour Good location for exploring the Stone Town lanes
Cons: Taxi cannot get to hotel so need to carry luggage 5mins to nearest road. Taxis booked through hotel were over priced
Excellent 9.2
Great room with good bed, bathroom basic and a bit dated. Staf is extremely nice and helpful. The restaurant downstairs is a great place for lunch.
Excellent 10.0
The group at Zanzibar Coffee House were completely extraordinary; beginning with the inviting manager Rebecca who welcomed us with an inviting smile to the astonishing staff of baristas. The morning breakfast was completely extraordinary which was went with the leading coffee I have devoured while traveling throughout in East Africa. We stayed within the Arabica suite which was completely shocking; the furniture and in general stylistic layout of the room mixed into the encompassing excellence of Stone Town. We had a wonderful stay and will definitely come back! Thank you.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: spacious
Cons: dirty floor, did not allow my partner to visit me without submitting ID
Excellent 10.0
Pros: the staff were helpful, especially Wini and Jamila. Wini “the receptionist” gave me all tour directions I need with map and she was very helpful. I’d like to repeat this experience again
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Big rooms with big bathroom and places to relax in the room. All staff was very friendly and helpful all the time. Very clean everywhere and breakfast was excellent also.
Good 6.0
Pros: Good location and that's about it.
Cons: All the things that make this old building unique also make it very uncomfortable - steep stairs, a lot of steps even in the room, very dark even during the day, the windows are always shut and there is no fresh air. Noisy surroundings. Very dirty floors. I stepped out of the shower and by the time I came into the bedroom the soles of my feet were black again. Overpriced food.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Perfect location in Stone Town, all sights walkable. The house and the room were really cozy, nice and friendly staff, good breakfast.
Cons: Just a little overpriced. 25 USD for a 15 minutes airport shuttle? Sorry, that's too much. We paid the same price for 90 minutes ride to Jambiani. The restaurant is alright, but also too expensive for what you get.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: loved it. It's like traveling back in time The wood work and the unique atmosphere
Cons: Everything was just fine It's an antique building so it may look a bit run down but I loved the feel.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Very large room, nice breakfast, Covid awarness, great location- close to everything. And lovely staff!
Cons: The area can be a bit noisy in the morning

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Room was specious, bathrooms were excellent and showers were perfect with strong water pump. Location was perfect more than perfect. Staff are very supportive and friendly. Breakfast was excellent.
Cons: Nothing everything was perfect
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Absolutly all ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Cons: Nothing, all was 👌👌👌
Excellent 10.0
Pros: the location 👌🏼 middle of stone town, the food was so delicious , perfect view and the room was big and so comfortable, everything was perfect
Cons: little bit expensive
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The guest services representative Grace was so helpful and made a huge difference in our stay as far as convenience, sorting out activities and attractions in the area, and just giving that extra attention to detail. The room and facilities were great, the breakfast was wonderful and the location on the beach but so accessible to what stone town has to offer was great.
Cons: There could maybe be some updates made to some Of the general furniture in the lobby and outdoor areas.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The location, the spa, the staff, the room, the breakfast, the view
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was perfect ! the pool with the sunset is beautiful ! employee are very nice, Hapiness the best waitress !
Cons: Everything was good ! I recommend this hotel
Excellent 10.0
It was a pleasure
Excellent 10.0
Stayed at the Hyatt several times during this holiday. Great location and premises! Beautiful rooms, fantastic breakfast and great service. Really enjoyed our stay at the hotel and are definitely coming back! If you have the money to stay here for a couple of days when in Zanzibar, it is definitely worth it!
Excellent 10.0
This hotel is stunning and has a prime real estate location with many rooms offering a sea view. We upgraded to a suite and it was very spacious with lovely appointments of art, lighting and general decorating. Since it is a Park Hyatt, there are many opportunities to see where the hotel made an effort to invest in beautiful furniture, lighting, art, etc. everywhere. The hotel has a very nice restaurant that is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Both the restaurant and the bar have outside seating when you want to have your meal or drink and enjoy the seaside. The hotel is located in Stone Town so it's an easy walk to many other restaurants and local sites. The hotel offers day trips through the concierge, so you can arrange a city tour, spice tour, forest tour, etc. The staff are very friendly and amenable to whatever you need to make your stay enjoyable. The hotel is both beautiful to look at and more enjoyable to stay at.
Excellent 9.7
Pros: Terrific hotel with wonderful pool, views, right on the beach, good food selection and quality, superb staff. A bit pricey for being right in stone town (and therefore not on the nicest beach), but a great place to stay for those who don't have time to get out to the further parts of the island

Excellent 8.0
Pros: nice architecture, very friendly personell & good breakfast!
Cons: bed rather on the small side, so if you are tall, you soll probably have to sleep diagonal location not too far from the port, as a sole female traveler I did not feel super safe at night (though this is an individual feeling)
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The Deluxe room is just a dream. Very nice sitting area outside and breakfast a la carte. Fantastique. The stuff is really nice and helpful.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Very Friendly staff cannot remeber all names but for example Louisa, Sebastian and Dina The Location in first looks strange but after our stay we can confirm it is one of the best locations you can get in Stown Town .. 10 mins walking was the most distance we covered to reach any place we planned to go in stone town Rooms were clean and very historical and breakfast was incredible and served fast All our questions and needs were fullfiled fast and the surronding buildings make you live the original spirit of historical Zanzibar Thanks all staff for you warm hospitality
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Beautiful boutique hotel with the original omani-arabic style from princess kholle‘s time! The staff was very attentive especially sebastian!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Location is exceptional, just a short walk to the corniche and strategically located in stone town, Danielle was incredible with us along with the other staff, everyone exceptionally friendly, room was super spacious and decoration was very much in the mood of zanzibar and stone town, we loved the balcony overlooking the pool, the rooftop terrace for a drink at sunset, the food served at the restaurant and the attentions to details provided by the every boutique experience we were looking for.
Cons: absolutely nothing
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Ancient fancy eastern large house, nice design.
Cons: A little bit noisy, a church is close and loud voice starts at 4 a.m. Also cruise ships make noise...
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Hospitality from the minute of arriving to the minute of departure! The wide selection at breakfast. The exceptional meals at lunch and dinner.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Hotel is close to Ferry Terminal so if you are going to travel to Dar es Salaam by ferry, it will take about 5 min to go to terminal but be aware that ticket office is 15 mins away from the terminal building so buy tickets in advance, also go to the terminal in 1 hour before the departure of the ferry, since you'll need to fill a few applications.
Cons: All interesting places of Stone Town are in different part of the city, not in that where the hotel is located, so you will need to walk every day about 30 mins on foot to achieve them.
Excellent 10.0
Good breakfast, great value for your money! and good hospitality
Excellent 8.0
Lots of hidden fees. 5% to pay with card. Fyi.
Excellent 10.0
We had a 1 night in stone town. A calm and clean boutique hotel that's a strolling separate from the fordhani night markets, excellent ocean side and bazaars. The city is truly little sufficient to cover it all by foot so no ought to stay in terrific 5 times as you may discover fair as great a service in the hole. In truth rooms were roomy, clean, airconditioned, breakfast was great and indeed in spite of the fact that the kitchen does not open till 7 am, the staff were kind sufficient to organize an early supper for us at 5am sometime recently our inside flights. We too oversaw a late check out by 7pm for a little extra charge. Would stay there again if ever in stone town. Thank you so wonderful experience.

Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great central location in an amazing old building. They tried to put us on the noisy ground floor even though most rooms were free! We refused and finally got a much nicer and airier room upstairs; even though we had to pay a little more but it was worth it.
Cons: Breakfast is really nice outside on the roof patio but please pay attention to the quality of bread!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Location, staff and Breakfast were 100% Als the rooftop bar and restaurant was very nice
Cons: To get guests from the Rest of the World, it would be an improvement to order beer and/ or wine. I know, itś the policy of the hotel; however in these difficult times you have to get as much as possible guests
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Big spacious rooms with lots of decoration appropriate for stone town. It is conveniently located and breakfast was delicious and filling. The staff were generally very friendly and helpful.
Cons: I recommend not using their preferred partner for tours and taxis as they are outrageously overpriced compared to other tour agencies and taxi companies. Our guide on the trip we booked with their partner was not very knowledgable either.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: location is perfect and staff is very welcoming.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: We stayed there only one night to experience Stone Town. Location is good, everything you want to see is only a foot walk away. Good service, nice rooms (Junior suite). Would recommend it for any short stay to explore the city.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: the breakfast and view from the rooftop restaurant
Cons: N/A
Excellent 9.2
Old and beautiful house with dark wood everywhere and a very “colonial” atmosphere. Our room was very large with almost as big bathroom as the bedroom! The room was quite cool during the night so no need for the A/C. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Upstairs there was the breakfast terrace from where we got some noise starting at 7am. Checkout time was at 10am which is a bit too early. Overall very nice place for a couple of days stay.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The building is awesome, loads of character and history. Facilities also very good. Great standard of service
Cons: All was good
Excellent 10.0
The room itself was pretty spacious but a bit dark, though. There was a double bed with a mosquito net just like I wanted. The net was also sprayed with an anti-mosquito repellent later in the evening by one of the hotel representatives. The windows were overlooking the nearby houses. Bathroom was big with both shower and bath, however the bath itself was pretty scratched. The choice of TV channels was poor as well as the picture quality but it didn't bother me. An asset of this property was definitely a rooftop cafe/restaurant. I really enjoyed the sunset and the ocean views. The atmosphere was excellent. My breakfast was included in the room rate. I would not say the meal choice was great but it was tasty with restaurant staff being very helpful. During the check out Kisiwa House arranged a transport to Nungwi for me. The price was 50 USD. Summarizing all the above Kisiwa is a great place to stay and relax after a hot and sunny day in Stone Town. In my opinion it's not a 5-star property, rather 4 star but still great. I will definitely stay there again when I'm in Stone Town and I highly recommend it to everyone.

Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was perfect, the staff, the room, the breakfast
Cons: I like everything
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very large and nice room, decoration was amazing! Bathroom. Nice view from the rooftop. Great location in the heart of Stone Town.
Cons: The receptionist accidentally locked us in the room...had to sneak out by the bathroom window... Breakfast so so.
Excellent 9.2
We stayed in room Stanley, the bed was a little too small for two & squeaky. The breakfast options were not great & very limited.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Great breakfast on the roof terrace. Lots of choice and friendly waiter. Beautiful building and decoration. Special decoration in our room and bottle of wine for our honeymoon.
Cons: Mattress on the hard side. The floor and painting in the room is getting old, doesn't look well maintained, it's a shame. The shower head had stained of limestone. On the second and last evening, there was almost no hot water anymore (we didn't tell the employees as it was still ok for a quick rinse).
Excellent 8.4
We stayed here two nights in a signature suite (Livingstone room) and were slightly underwhelmed after great reviews left us with high expectations. The building itself has a very unique layout, in a great location, and a brilliant view of the water on the terrace, but we felt on a whole it didn't live up to our high expectations. The room smelled and felt musty, and the corner where the toilet was smelled like pee for the duration of our stay, despite leaving the fans on all day. In a room that has no door (or wall really) to separate the sleeping area from the bathroom, we found this to be a major factor in our enjoyment of the place. Adding to that, the wifi only worked on the terrace and our bed was very short (uncomfortably short for me at 183 cm (6'). Perhaps if we had a different room it would have been a better stay, after all, the hotel itself is a visually unique place.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Each room has character. If you’re staying in Stone Town, you have to check this spot out.
Cons: Wifi was a little unreliable
Good 7.0
Pros: Location is good, room is big and clean. Bulding is special
Cons: Breakfast was so so No beach towels. We went to do the Safari blue and couldn’t get a towel.
Good 6.8
The staff was quite cooperative, but it’s on the narrow streets and can’t access by car, the building was quite old that’s why it’s washrooms are smell a lot.
Excellent 8.8
Jafferji Hotel and Spa is architecturally beautiful, almost a monument considering it is a merchant house that is over 100 years old. The walls are made of thick stone, the hotel is located smack in the middle of stonetown. Walking to prison island ferry, and the night market were a stones throw away. The only issue with the hotel is that the WiFi/Mobile Internet is very poor because of the stone walls, we didn't get a lot of network in the room. Also the toilet had a constant sewage smell towards the evenings - but I should say that this smell didn't travel to where we were sleeping so it wasn't such a big issue. The staff at the hotel are amazing, very sweet, and friendly. The breakfast option is very limited, however, considering the low price of the hotel it is justified. I would still recommend this place because of it's excellent location. I also want to add that Stonetown is an extremely safe place to travel for women as the entire city is covered with surveillance cameras. The people of Zanzibar are also super friendly and helpful when it comes to getting directions along it's winding streets
Good 7.6
The hotel is absolutely beautiful inside, with interesting décor. The room was very large and spacious, and the bed really comfortable. Unfortunately there was a lot of noise from the street at night, with drums playing (presumably for Ramadan) after midnight every night. The rooms only had a quick clean every day, and there was a very bad smell from the drain in the bathroom. The staff was friendly, but not very knowledgeable about the area. The location is central and walking distances to everything worth seeing in Stone Town.
Excellent 8.8
Breakfast is very basic, the hotel itself is beautiful. Very early Checkout- Time (10am), and strict on that.
Excellent 10.0
Very kind staff, really beautiful and unique hotel, great breakfast with amazing view of the ocean and stone town, close to everything. I'd very happily stay again.
Excellent 8.5
This hotel has the outright idealize central area within the heart of Stone Town. Such one of a kind character and stylistic layout that captures the soul, culture, and history of the incredible goal. The staff is super neighborly, incredible menu choices and incredible sea views from the housetop. No trip to Zanzibar is total without a visit for at slightest one or two of days in this notable city and I profoundly suggest staying at Jafferji House. Be beyond any doubt to check out their spa services for an additional extraordinary treat! We had a superb stay. This was definitely one of our favorite places to stay. Thank you!
Okay 4.5
A Hotel with a quite spectacular decoration that automatically steals your attention (see attached), but...it disappears in a few minutes, because: - by the tremendous lack of hygiene throughout the space; - towels in rooms completely grimy and smelly, once white, now are brown; - plates and mugs very dirty, both in the room and at Breakfast (see attached); - cockroaches in the room; - there is no mini-fridge in the room; - very claustrophobic space; - unfriendly staff with little desire to work, shortening breakfast time by 30min so they do not have to serve the guests...; - varied breakfast, but very low quality (spoiled fruit, burnt pancakes ...) - lack of physical separation between the bedroom and the toilet (for someone looking for privacy, this hotel isn't indicated); - bad Wi-Fi, too slow connection; - price is totally out of place for the quality offered. In short, completely not recommended. Totally overpriced. Being there, you can tell this space was once very beautiful, but that is now degraded with lack of pride, care and maintenance.

Cons: the bed was very uncomfortable to lay in because the madras was very hard. the air conditioner is placed right beside the bed and I got sick from it.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything about the hotel
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Nice central located hotel. Breakfast was good.
Good 7.0
Pros: Location of the hotel is perfect for first time visit to Zanzibar. Easily accessible and safe, walking distance to everywhere. Staff were helpful and kind. Good breakfast and great coffee in the little cafe downstairs.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Huge and very nice room
Cons: Breakfast was not meeting expectations Alcohol free hotel but that's of course just a very personal matter
Good 7.0
Pros: Beautiful building and good location. Breakfast fruit selection was great. Our room was also very nice, with a big balcony.
Cons: Some of the staff (not all, as many were very friendly and helpful) gave us the impression that we weren't particularly welcome, just through small details for example of not returning a smile. Also, one staff member was gawking at some young girls at the pool quite obviously, also then watching their room from the rooftop above the pool. This made us very uncomfortable. Other than that, their breakfast terrace is nice although if you want sundowners you'll have to go elsewhere or BYOB as they don't serve alcohol.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: I loved the pool.
Cons: No complaints
Excellent 10.0
This hotel has alot of charm to put you back in the 1800's. The rooms ate equally exotic. The breakfast is included and very delicious. I definitely recommend this hotel for those that want to be transported back in tge Sultan days.
Excellent 10.0
We are traveling with a small team on a mission trip and had a great experience! Our stay at Minzingani Seaport Hotel was a blessing!!
Excellent 10.0
The location was perfect and the staff was so friendly and helpful . We enjoyed our stay. Thanks.
Excellent 10.0
Lovely hotel with nice staff. I will come back for sure!
Excellent 9.6
The hotel is very interesting, many historical and unique details. Rooms are large, well equipped, especially the lingwistone, very big balcony, ocean view. Good pool. Towels are suggested, sofas and beach beds. I like the breakfast, variety of food. The stuff is very greatful. Highly recommended.
Excellent 8.0
Directly on the beachfront. There is no direct possibility to swim there, but not for away. Some restautrants around
Good 6.4
Great old-time vibes, right on the beach. Stayed in a beach view room which was nice, but just so dark. Internet slow. Breakfast was decent, nothing spectacular, but for Stone Town this is about as good as it gets if you want to be on the beach and in an older style hotel.
Excellent 9.2
Very charming Rooms and nice Pool with clean water. The place is in front of the ocean an 5 min away from magior Restaurants. Unfortunately the Restaurant in the Hotel does not serve Beer nor Wine. But to stay the place is great value!
Excellent 10.0
We remained in a family room on our first trip to Zanzibar. We adored it! The room was astounding, open with everything you would! like Balcony towards the excellent patio with pool, gigantic and comfy beds, coffee, tea and treats complementary with a water cooker, tv, aircon! The pool was extraordinary, and shady within the evening. The breakfast buffet is gigantic and exceptionally yummy with tons of new natural product and neighborhood and worldwide choices. The staff was so inviting and unimaginably supportive with each ask. The as it were the thing we didn’t check some time recently we booked is on the off chance that they serve liquor, which they don’t, which is, of course, fine but we adored to have a lager within the evening. All in all, we loved it and want to come back! Thank you!

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast, the pool table and staff were excellent. Nice style, good swimming pool if you're interested in that.
Cons: WiFi was very weak on the last two days of three we spent there. I hope the WiFi is improved. Bedrooms could have more space, our twin room was very small indeed.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Gorgeous, centuries-old former home of a sultan, renovated into an oasis of calm and beauty in the heart of Stone Town. The pool is incredible, as are the staff. Highly recommend!
Good 7.0
Pros: Great location, we were able to walk everywhere with in Stonetown. The hotel did have several sanatizer around the property but that was the extent of their protocols.
Cons: There were no plug or charging points available. We had to unplug either the kettle or the TV in order to charge our devices, these were across the room and not convienient No safes in the rooms, only at reception Staff were few and far between and when encountered only mildly interested, with the exception of reception who were super engaging, funny and very helpful Word of caution: majority of zanzibar does not believe in covid and we were told by several random locals to take our masks off as there is no corona. We were literally the only ppl.wearing masks. It seemed like they took offense that we had the audacity to wear them (this is in stinetown self not in the hotel)
Excellent 9.0
Pros: I love this hotel… I have been there 15 years ago and it is still the same. Old charming building and traditional rooms. Very good buffet breakfast . And the location is just the best, close to everything and you can go to the partners Tembo house hotel to the beach a stay there by the pool.
Cons: Nothing to complain…
Mediocre 2.0
The best location, very friendly staff but they need to change the bed are horrible
Good 6.8
We had the beautiful top floor room with views of ocean. Had to move to lesser quality room due to roosters/birds below, next door beginning very loud crowing at 3 AM onward each day. Don't stay at this hotel in any room facing the ocean/West. Breakfast was only ok. Noting the hotel cannot control the bird(s) the stay is ok but will improve with the death of the birds.
Okay 5.2
The place had a traditional Swahili charm to it. When we checked in though the man at check in wasn’t very pleasant or welcoming at all. Left me with a sour first impression. When we got to our room i went to shower and while I was showering I looked up at the glass covering the light bulb and it was full of maggots. Even in the shower their were some as well. I was so disgusted I didn’t use the shower again. Better to spend your money elsewhere.
Excellent 9.6
It s an old hotel, but clean and the stuff is vey polițe. It ' s a bit noisy because is on the street, directly. Thank you, Dhow palace, for 7 wonderful days!🤗
Good 6.0
Average stay with basic room amenities. Design is old but clean. Located at stonetown main street. Walkable attractions.
Excellent 9.6
If you are looking for the authentic Zanzibar experience (the hotel building is close to 500 years old!!!) accompanied by lovely and helpful staff and supported by an extremely charming and tasteful hotel interior design, + central location in Stone Town, look no further - Dhow Palace is your place! We had a lovely time and staff were the friendliest and nicest people - such a true pleasure!! Two thumbs up!
Excellent 10.0
This is a lovely hotel with so much charm and atmosphere that it can easily make you dream! Well preserved and renovated building from 1559 (!!!) which has kept its authentic style, while being modern and with up-to-date facilities! Staff is very friendly and helpful, breakfast is rich and the rooms are comfortable. Loving the style of the old-time beds! Two thumbs up!
Excellent 9.1
Pros: This is a very unique and beautiful hotel...They take care of a lot of little details. I believe it was a little pricey - but it was also during the holiday season. Some nickel and diing- too much for taxis and so forth - ut a kind and attentive staff.

Good 7.0
Pros: roof terrace, history of building, traditional style rooms
Cons: bathrooms open and/or not sound proofed and blocked balconies
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Loved the staff. The rooftop was spectacular. The room was immaculate and the attention to detail superb. The AC was great and the water was hot! The dinner was so nice with candlelight with fresh seafood and breakfast was awesome with great fruits and a wonderful endless cup of strong coffee.
Cons: I didn’t like the fact that I hadn’t stayed there before in my ten years of going to Tanzania before today!
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Great journey in this very nice hotel The rooftop is great
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Staff was even more friendly than usual in Zanzibar. Rooms look nice and are clean. Breakfast is nice and the rooftop restaurant is really good. Bathrooms are simple: not very hot water, but that's normal here. Lots of towels, though, and nice complimentary shampoo etc. Hotel provided a lot of complimentary bottled water. Airconditioning and fan worked perfectly.
Cons: One morning with a lot of hotel guests, breakfast was a buffet and the quality was less than other days. Lot of noise from the street, but again, that is normal in Stonetown.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Beautiful artichecture and rooms, 5-6m ceilings are impressive and wonderful terassse Very central location Helpful staff
Cons: Quite noisy (our windows were on the street side on the 2nd floor during the festive period, but also any noises in the building were very audible)
Good 7.0
Pros: -rooftop -location
Cons: -no wifi in room, only Lobby and rooftop
Okay 5.0
Pros: The beds and the interior finishing
Cons: The swimming pool, you better stop lying 🤥

Tolles Hotel in bester Lage...
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Great beeakfast!
Cons: More loungers on the beach area
Excellent 9.2
Nice hotel in a good location in Stone Town with a pool and direct access to the beach. Room was spacious, clean and comfortable. Staff were friendly, breakfast was good. Takes around 15 minutes to get here from the airport depending on traffic.
Mediocre 2.0
The photos don't refelct the building
Mediocre 2.0
They gave us rooms in another building. This one is a scam.
Excellent 8.4
Spent a night to do some shopping and catch up with memories from visits before. Tempo Hotel is a small travel back in time when you look at the rooms. The staff is very friendly and forthcoming. If you get a good deal for your stay I would recommend Tembo.
Excellent 8.4
A great hotel with it's own small private beach and two swimming pools. The main swimming pool is a little exposed as it can be partially seen from the outside of the hotel, but there is also a really nice infinity pool on a roof nearby which is barely used. Rooms are nicely decorated and spacious.
Excellent 10.0
We stayed within the primary building on the beach and you must take care whereas booking, something else you may stay in Attach Building. But both have an idealized area, fair around the corner from Freddie Mercury's house and few steps on the shoreline from Forodhani Gardens where investing an evening could be a must. Truly simple to find Stone Town from this hotel. Staff is truly pleasant and inviting. Room in colonial fashion and oriental washroom were not as enormous as on pictures but comfortable sufficient. Its prepared with cooler, pot with tea/coffee and they give you bottles of water each day air-condition is working impeccably. Having a room fair over the pool was no issue, it was not loud at all. Breakfast with a see to the ocean is fair to idealize. Indeed WiFi was working easily. Thank you all guys, for sure will recommend to family and friends and will come back.

Good 7.0
Pros: Breakfast was good.
Cons: Rooms are outdated and the bedding had stains. Pillows on the bed had very little support.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The location, close to main points of the city and also friendly staff.
Cons: The street noise that you could hear from 6 o'clock in the morning.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Very nice staff and good coffee. The place is very well located if you are up to take a ferry which is just 5 minutes far by walk. Even a "bus station" is very close - So it is a good strategic place for one night staying during the transfer wherever.
Cons: The loudness from the street is very significant and on top of that the AC was making awful sounds as well.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Big room with big bed, AC, hot water, storage, hotel in comfy Swahili-style, all very neat, friendly helpful staff, close to city-center and 5mins away from the ferry. When we wanted to change the room for a bigger one with bathroom it was no problem and we changed immediately. Plus, the very good breakfast: here you can feel the love for the small things that can make the difference. You will find excellent Espresso, Cappuccino,.. & e.g. ginger tea, home-made pineapple jam, fresh juices.. this place is special.
Cons: Everything was fine.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: -Location is perfect for departure with the Ferry, also its very near to everything in Stonetown -Its quiet. Yes there is a mainroad and mosques, but its quiet enough to sleep well -Wifi works good -Hot shower and clean everything -Coffeeshop downstairs
Cons: -The light in the aisle in front the room. A bit bright at night.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Proximity to amenities, very friendly staff.
Cons: Nothing
Okay 5.0
Pros: Friendly staff with a quick walk to the marina
Cons: Thought this place was OK. I did see a cockroach and it gets extremely noisy.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Very clean, very well maintained, impeccable security ensuring nobody enters the hotel who doesn't belong there, excellent breakfast on the rooftop and just 2 minutes from the ferry. Outstanding value for money!
Cons: The noise on Malawi Rd starts at 6 a.m.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: The stuff is so helpful and friendly. The rooms are better than in the photos. Cozy and authentic. The roof restaurant is beautiful.
Cons: The location is a little bit crowded because it's in the middle of stone town. Narrow place to park. The idea of the shared bathroom, although they are clean.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: The staff are friendly and efficient, the room is really clean and has the nice little extra touches, and the breakfast is really good. The cafe downstairs is really cute and has good food too. I highly recommend this place.
Cons: Everything was perfect
Excellent 8.8
We partly liked our stay. The aircon worked well, and it was clean. But the room was not much comfy and the shower did not give enough water to be satisfied, and only if you would not use water elsewhere. Well, good location, cleanliness and practicality, and also nice staff led to 4 stars.
Excellent 9.7
Pros: The room was comfortable and a good size for me as a solo traveler. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and I was able to book several excursions through the reception desk. I also liked having the cafe available for meals, and the breakfast buffet upstairs.
Cons: The location was fine, but I would have liked to be slightly closer to the center of Stone Town.

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast was good and plentiful as it was a buffet. It was in the hotel restaurant near the sea. The staff was really nice and efficient! Their is no a real hotel beach, no facilities for the guest such as chairs,, etc.
Cons: I found the room rather small and the bathroom very small. No place to put your things. A few things were old and not working such as bed light, soap support.
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Everything was perfect from beginning to the end. The sea view was wonderful, everything is working properly, the swimming pool is clean and ally make sure you do have everything. The breakfast is amazing. Many choices from cheese to local food if you wish. We all wish we could have stayed longer. For next time 100% sure.
Cons: /
Excellent 9.0
Pros: A classic old style hotel overlooking the bay and in the prime part of Stonetown. An ideal location from which to explore Stonetown. Amazing corner room (51) with a wrap around balcony. Great service. Could have stayed here for weeks quite happily.
Cons: All was great.
Excellent 9.0
Pros: Omelet
Poor 1.0
Pros: location was perfect and right on the beach, efficient and friendly staff and did the best they could helping us with switching to a better room
Cons: hotel is supposed to be 5* and is priced as 5* but thats where it ends. For what we paid we could get a beautiful 5* resort hotel in dubai. Rooms are old and grubby, dirty, bathroom fixtures old and some falling off, all needs renovating. Pool water is clean (and freezing) but the grating is disgustingly mouldy. Sunbeds falling apart Breakfast was awful and evening meal in the restaurant returned. Dont waste your money. If we had paid half it wouldnt have been too bad but I still wouldnt return.
Excellent 10.0
Excellent staff and food!
Excellent 10.0
Pros: Excellent breakfast, courteous and efficient staff
Cons: Nothing
Excellent 10.0
Excellent facility but the breakfast was nkt good at all Not matching with standards of serena
Excellent 9.6
Good location, friendly staff, clean, good breakfast,
Good 7.2
I imagine that this would have been a top hotel in its day, but it is starting to become quite old and dated now. Some staff are excellent, some leave a lot to be desired (15 minutes to get a pool towel, reception staff forgetting who you are while you're waiting to see if the room is ready). Rooms are very nice with a great view from the balcony.
Excellent 9.6
Great location and very friendly staff. Breakfast was also very good. Airport pickup was also provided. Highly recommend
Okay 5.2
The hotel itself if beautiful and it is in a good location. But, if you are someone who likes to eat well then this isn´t a good option (in my opinion). I expected way more considering what we paid to stay here. The pool needs a bit of work too. Slightly dissapointed.
Good 7.7
Hotel was lovely. disappointed with the room. sea view room does not necessarily mean sea view - my room looked at the courtyard. very disappointing

Good 6.0
Pros: Not too much noises, room is quite big, just like the bathroom, our check in was smooth. The garden view is really nice and the hotel is very close to the covid center (10-15minutes walking)
Cons: The staff doesn’t say jambo to everyone, we wanted to do a late check out and this guy ask us for 50$ for just 2hrs then ask us how much we should give him. My answer was easy free. Not very nice behaviour. No savanna as it was written on the menu.. our waiter was speaking to my friend in Swahili but did not answer in English. The swimming pool needs to be cleaner, transat are old just like the pool towels which has stain on them. The smell of it is not good. Pond needs to be clean. It was green. For me that is not a resort sorry. My friend and I went on a resort just a night before. You pay for the pool and the garden.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: This is a spacious resort build in a arabian style with lot's of palm trees, a big swimmingpool and overlooking the ocean. Very green and lush. Eventhough the resort is a bit outdated, they try to keep everything clean. Room we had was a chalet, these are on the ground or on the first floor. Very spacious and come with bathingrobes and slippers, airco, fridge and nice outside sittingarea overlooking the indian ocean. The resort is located a short distance from stonetown. With the taxi you pay somewhere from tzs20.000 to tzs30.000 without tip
Cons: The buffet is ok, but don't expect to much The sea here is not so nice if the tide is low, but the swimmingpool makes up for that
Poor 1.0
Pros: NOTHING WENT WELL....ANGRY STAFF DIRTY ENVIRONMENT,POOR SERVICE
Cons: THE BATHROOMS,THE BREAKFAST,THE ROOMS,THE ENVIRONMENT,THE SWIMMING POOL
Mediocre 3.2
I don’t recommend this hotel ! I had a bad experience honestly

Excellent 8.0
Pros: Online booking was simple, uncomplicated, awesome and unbelievable. Location is perfect. Close to the beach, close to town and close to airport.
Cons: Infrastructure is a bit oldish but well maintained.
Okay 4.0
Pros: The grounds are pretty
Cons: The person at the desk was the only person on the whole island that was rude to me.
Mediocre 2.0
Pros: View and the fact that they were willing to relocate us to Sea View
Cons: Showers didn't work neither did aircon. Advertised that they have a restaurant but this is only open for breakfast. NO BAR facilities at all.
Okay 5.0
Pros: Quiet serene, clean bed sheets and towels
Cons: No hot water despite having reported twice, meals not served at the hotel, very busy beach and not friendly to women, staff not very friendly except for the breakfast guy at the restaurant. The hotel is under renovation but this was not stated in advance. Telephones not working which poses a risk incase of an emergency.
Good 7.0
Pros: The greenery, sea view and the breakfast.
Cons: The appearance of the gate and the reception need to be renovated. The bushes along the coast
Excellent 9.0
Pros: The property was clean and a beautiful view of the ocean ocean
Cons: Easy access to the beach and not far from stone town.
Excellent 8.0
Pros: Breakfast need an improvement on variety. The room was very clean. The juice was very tasty and natural. The ambience and ocean waves, superb.
Cons: A restaurant for evening meals. Simple meals would be great. Too many beach boys, I was worried walking along the beach.
