very rundown. wasn't sure if the bathroom was clean
Quiete position, with spacious room with good quality/price ratio.
I stayed for one night only as I was passing by, so can't judge of much, but the place is nice and clean, staff is friendly and smiling. The building does not look old or run down to me (as some previous reviews say). I arrived fairly late but had no problem checking in.
When we arrived we thought that the hotel had closed down! From outside it has an air of neglect and abandonment. The door was locked and there were various notes, numbers to ring etc displayed outside - eventually we made contact and acquired a key from the keysafe on the outside wall - not a good start so we were surprised to find the building warm inside and a clean and spacious room. Maybe 1970's décor and desperately in need of refurbishment but everything functioned as it should, the bed was large and comfortable, all generally clean and serviceable for an overnight stay. We had seen poor reviews of the breakfast but we found it perfectly adequate given the price. Parking immediately outside the front door and being on a side street left us with no concerns for our motorcycle. Checking out was a lot easier than checking in as the reception was manned in the morning. Overall, despite appearances, OK and not bad value for money.
Has the air of an establishment struggling to survive, which is a shame because it was probably once a thriving hotel. Access arrangements (as described) were not very welcoming at all. The bathroom in particular could do with a refit - no amount of cleaning can disguise the smell of an old toilet! No restaurant at the hotel and none in the immediate vicinity looked open, or particularly inviting, but we did eventually find a very nice place at the winery back down on the main road. I'm afraid that if we were passing that way again we would be looking elsewhere.
This hotel enjoys a peaceful location close to the centre of the popular health resort of Bad Bellingen. It lies just a short walk from the spa gardens, the mineral thermal baths and the banks of the Rhine. Guests arriving by train can make use of our complimentary shuttle service to and from Bad Bellingen railway station. We would be happy to receive any luggage sent to us in advance of your stay. Our attractive and peaceful garden with sunbathing area invites you to catch some rays and relax whenever you please.
