Likes: type of vehicle we were given when our class of vehicle was not available. Drop off in Phoenix was very nice. Dislike: For pick up the shuttle we to from LAX to Avis was close to 45 mins to go 2 miles. Our vehicle was not available and were offered a smaller car which we declined. We had to wait 30 mins for the correct car to be delivered. We had to change from Burbank to LAX and were charged an additional $120. Not sure why.

Rented VW Jetta. Got Nissan Altima. I have never driven an Altima before. It has the worst windshield/defrost situation I’ve ever seen. Impossible to keep windows from fogging. Almost got me killed in the hills Thursday and Friday night. Tried it with outside air, circulating air, AC on, heat on, window down. It has to be a flawed design with the windshield. Or the car has a leak somewhere (heater core?). Terrifying driving experience. Surprised there hasn’t been a recall on these things.
They demanded a credit card despite full payment on your partner site. I felt so baited and switched. It was such an awful experience I won’t trust kayak or its partners ever again to book travel

They had trouble finding the right car for me. At first they gave me a very large SUV that I didn't want. I was going to take it anyway, but the paperwork was wrong, so the final gate guard would not let me drive away. Then a man from Avis fixed the rental and gave me a good intermediate SUV (Mazda CX-5) that worked out great.
Fox charged me an extra $ 150.00 with the promise that it would be returned when I returned the car. The car was returned in a better condition than when I picked it up and with a full tank of gas. The still haven't returned the $ 150.00. The car had many scratches on the paint and windows were not clean. The person who was at the rental counter was extremely difficult to understand. I have rented many, many cars over the years and I have never had worse service.

Ridiculous! Be aware that this office at the Burbank Airport closes at 9 pm - and offers no option for an after hours pickup. They only allow a 12 hour window for late/delayed arrivals, and are unwilling to transfer reservations to the Fox office at LAX in this situation, which is open until 12:30 am. Very poor customer service. Take your business elsewhere.

I expect to not be charged and refunded my payment for the insurance. Kayak let me schedule a rental pickup at a location that was closed. I took a $40 uber to the location to find out it was closed. Then walked a mile in the heat to an open car rental location and had to pay double for a rental. I am NEVER using kayak again

Your web site told me that I would be getting a Jeep Compass or similar car from Hertz for a certain price. When I got to Burbank, they Hertz employees had not seen a Jeep Compass come through in months and offered me a Kia--which I could have rented from multiple other car companies for much less than what Hertz was charging me. Super frustrating that I picked Hertz because of their offer, which was totally inaccurate. I won't be using them again:

Check in was easy and fast, representative who assisted with providing us our car was friendly, easy to work with, and made it fun. Great experience.
I had rented a car the day before. Then I went there the next day. They told me, “Sorry, we tried to contact you. Unfortunately, we don’t have the car.” It was a really long trip. And I didn’t get any email from them. Nothing at all. They barely even tried to contact me. And Uber prices in Los Angeles are expensive.

They didn’t let me take it because they couldn’t accept my credit card so basically I pay the rental for nothing .. worst experience ever
The attendant at the counter was rude and unhelpful. We chose Europcar because Fox Rental Car is always terrible to deal with, but the reservation wound up being with Fox. Bait and switch.
One person at front desk… lone was long. Was shown that we’d get a Tacoma or similar. Got a Hyundai Santa Cruz. Not as big in the flatbed space. Car was not ready when did all paperwork. Took an extra 20 min. However our time started when we did the paperwork and didn’t get cat. On way back hit traffic and csllled and customer service was horrible. Said if turned back late would charge a dollar per minute. She showed no empathy. No grace period? She was the worst. You need to train your customer service. We didn’t drive off lot til 225 and it showed 1155a. Not a good ending experience.

Price was fine however the chat had mechanical issues and was poorly maintained from a safety stand point. The car would shimmy if hitting a jump over 50mph. This wasn’t noticed until partway through the rental because the prior renter and or the company had over inflated the tires.

The rental staff- on pick-up and return- could not have been nicer. But, I reserved a small-sized SUV and was given a Kia Forte with 46,000 miles that had been smoked in heavily during a prior rental. I literally drove with the sunroof open the entire time I had the car to clear the air. I wouldn’t have mentioned this here if the couple in front of me on pick-up night- clearly walk-up customers- were given a new model red mini SUV, then I was told “You can take the small car over there or wait for a long time.” Bigger-picture, it is hard for me to understand how your company brings so much business to these rental car companies, yet we are treated as second-class renters. Thanks!

I was lent a brand new car for a really GREAT PRICE! Not to mention that the rental was for a 44-day booking. The car was really clean (inside and out) when I got it. The Dollar staff at the Burbank Airport was friendly, and the process of picking it up and dropping it off was very efficient.

I have $50 of charges that I don’t use one charge for damage waiver and more that I don’t know why
I DID NOT GET A CAR. !! At least not from National. They told me they had no record of my payment online on their end. I paid ahead with klarna. I will say, there was a manager, FERNANDO, who ran around and called other places to find me a car. I had to ride share to a second location ( different company ( enterprise). I had to rent all over, so basically double paid. I don’t see any refund from klarna as of yet. I have previously rented with kayak and no problem. Just gave the credit card $300 dep. Big headache. No more National. They just kept saying don’t use 3rd party companies. I use Expedia regularly with no problem and have used kayak as well. It makes no sense. Now I need to get the charge off of my klarna account!!!
