Car was clean and in very good condition. Had a Kia Sorrento.Every thing was fine until the return. Then the scam started. They fined us 1000 pesos because there was sand in the car. You cannot rent a car in LaPaz Mexico and not get sand in the car. That led to a heated argument with the return guy insulting my wife. She got so angry she walked to the airport from the drop off location. It got worse. After clearing security and sitting there waiting for our plane to Phoenix for almost 2 hours my wife was singled out for enhanced screening. She was the only passenger this happened to. They went thru her purse swabbing lipstick. Went thru her carryon in detail. Swabbed her fingers and even had her pull up her shirt and swabbed her abdomen for chemical residue. All of this in front of the entire boarding area. I am totally convinced the Payless guy was the reason. LaPaz airport is tiny and I am certain he had friends in security. It was very frightening and left a bad taste on what had been a great vacation. I would walk and hitchhike before renting from them again.

- They don't provide mats and don't want you to have sand in the car when returning it, that makes it difficult. - The cost of insurance is so high, much more than renting the car itself

Nothing. Read below.When I arrived with my 5 family members, the full size SUV we had reserved was not there. The rental agency had no SUVs, vans, or any car that had room for 6 people. They suggested that I instead rent two cars. I had to go to a different rental agency and rent a van that was three times the cost of my original reservation with you.

Nothing.It would have been better if they had a car for me when I reserved a car. I showed up and was told that no cars were available. They acknowledged that I had a reservation, but could not provide a car. They did not apologize, and could not say what went wrong or when a car would be available. Never again for Payless or Budget.

No one was there to help.A phone call to representative would have been much better. The chat with whomever was on the other was going around in circles. How difficult is it to understand that there is no one there to hand me a car or speak to me...

Customer serviceThere was only one employee handling paperwork and pick up/drop offs. Slowed down the process

The staff figured out how to resolve an unfortunate inconvenience they were left to dealt with.The vehicle I reserved being available and ready for pick up as scheduled/reserved.
