The shower pressure was amazing! I know it's a strange comment, but it was so nice to come in from the snow to a nice hot, high pressure shower. The inn was incredibly clean and cozy. There was an electric kettle, french press, and coffee maker so if you like having tea and coffee five times a day, it's very easy. The location was great - just a few minutes from the old main street, the new town center stores and Hwy 2 and 16mins from the airport. The property manager was so lovely to talk with and gave us great suggestions on things to do. There are lots of brochures and visitor guides available in the living room. It has it's own parking lot, which was well-maintained. It snowed every day of our trip, but the walkways and lot was always clean and salted. The pillows were fluffy and there were three of them. I have no complaints and I would definitely stay there again if I ever get back to Fairbanks.
The bed was slightly hard, however, I am not used to sleeping on a mattress - I sleep on a stack of three 4-inch memory foam toppers, so the bed is probably normal, I just like ridiculously fluffy. My friend slept great and thought the bed was soft.
We really liked the style; a house with a few shared rooms, common kitchen and living room. Our room was nice with an attached bathroom, but no walk in closet (specified on listing). The window was facing the Main Street light which was nice to look out and observe. There was a really nice wine opener available, also a full size fridge. The manager on site was very kind and let us check in a little early (we mainly wanted to drop our bags off, but took a nap too!).
We would have preferred not to be in the main house. Unfortunately this came with additional traffic which woke us up. We also had expected a “private entrance” which was listed twice when I booked my room, but instead we had to enter through the main door, through either the living or dining room, then our room which I wouldn’t consider private. We also didn’t know ahead of time that laundry would be $8/load. While this is understandable, it was unexpected.
Marnie was a great host. Everything you could possibly need is in walking distance, if you can brave the winter conditions. Kitchen for guest use is excellent. All round a great place to stay.
Very nice all around
