It was close to the job and the rates were good. The previous times I stayed there were ok. Pity they let themselves down

The room was filthy , it wasn't the room I paid for, it was full of drunkards who were outside till the earl hours making a noise, the shower was broken which I had to fix myself. The lad on the reception was useless

Leaving the place was the highlight of my stay. Hopefully the hotel will get up to some sort of standard after the lockdown ends.

I paid for a standard double room and was put in a single ( 1 cup 1 towel =single room ) It wasn't clean. I had to fix the shower. The receptionist was useless. The hotel is full of the unclean tramps who usually live on the streets who stand outside making a noise till 3 I the morning. I booked 3 nights but stayed just the one due to the state of the place Definitely disgusting

    The cleaners were nice.

The staff are all miserable and rude, especially the security man who also works on reception sometimes. He has a one rule for you another rule for others attitude. He picks and chooses who to harass. He is afraid to do his job and maintain order with the real trouble makers, therefore police and ambulance are often called to this hotel. I stayed here for a few weeks, paid thousands of pounds and was always given terrible rooms with no internet connection. I am a key worker and the Receptionists always lied about there being no superior rooms available. This was during the lockdown, the hotel was not open, only to key workers who could stay at this hotel, so I didn't believe these receptionists could lie about the availability for better/superior (as they call it) rooms. The staff lied again to me one morning, calling my room to tell me plumbing work needed to be done in my room, so they had to move me to another room on 5th floor. They said this room is bigger and better, but this was a disgusting lie and a disgusting room. The room was so tight, I didn't even have enough space to open my suitcase. They moved all paying customers to the 5th floor where there was the old style, inadequate rooms, with no internet connection. The hotel done this to make way for the (non-paying) people on the council housing list to come and have the superior rooms. All in all, this hotel is a shambles, the staff especially are terrible 0 customer service, they do not look happy to be there and they are very rude when you approach them. There's too much noise coming from the drunkards and drug addicts outside all night long. Terrible!

About

Overview

Built in 1854 to coincide with the reopening of the Crystal Palace exhibition venue, Best Western London Queens Crystal Palace Hotel is a striking Victorian building in one of the most picturesque parts of south London. A stay here puts you in good company – French writer Emile Zola resided here for many months in the 1890s during his time in exile, while German emperor Kaiser Wilhelm II used the hotel as a base for his visits to Queen Victoria. Our updated rooms all come with contemporary décor, air conditioning, flat-screen TV and hairdryer. We also have an onsite car park, conferencing facilities, Italian restaurant and spacious ground floor lounge bar with satellite TV. Selhurst Park football ground is only a five-minute drive away, while Crystal Palace Park is just two minutes by car. If you’re looking to do a spot of sightseeing while you’re here, you’ll find the major attractions of central London around 8 miles from the hotel. During the current pandemic, this hotel is open only for housing key workers and workers with no alternative abode. We can only offer rooms for single occupancy for essential / construction workers unless they are from the same household.
