Stay elsewhere if hygiene is even moderately important to you. It’s a beautifully laid out hotel, but poorly managed and maintained. I booked a week in a newly refurbished room thinking it would be manageable. While the space looked nice at first glance, it was absolutely filthy…stained sheets and towels, mold on the wall and curtains, the toilet had poo and pee stains from previous guests, and a pool of water that never seemed to drain near the shower. Even the mirror was filthy. And there were mosquitoes everywhere; two mins into entering the room, my feet were covered in bites. The room was large with a Queen, and two twin beds, much more space than I needed. The Queen bed was extremely dirty, badly stained, moldy, loud (the box springs squeaked constantly), and well worn down, so I slept in one of the twin beds. Even the floors were dusty and dirty, so I had to wear shoes all the time, and didn’t feel comfortable leaving even my luggage on the floor. The fridge had a ring of black mold. I saw large roaches regularly around the tea/coffee area, and the mugs/cups etc had NOT been cleaned between guests. I had to ask for the room to be scrubbed down a few times, but since it didn’t make a difference, I gave up. The place is loud and largely frequented by either packs of grungy backpackers or large local families (because of the pool and room sizes). Even the backpackers complained about the hygiene standards (which should say something!) Also DO NOT eat at the hotel bar except for beers and fries (the only things people seemed to order). On my last night, I was particularly exhausted and ordered some food, and spent the night on the toilet with diarrhea. Generally, stay away. Staff generally seem unhappy and service reflects this. Generally seems like a not good establishment.

Pros:Older style but very large, clean and comfortable rooms. Good, convenient location. Friendly and warm staff who make it feel like home. Excellent value for money for a Suva hotel. It reminds me of a nice, friendly Australian country motel - the sort of place I really enjoy staying at and would definitely come back to.
Cons:Internet hotspot fast but not always reliable and not cheap. Better off to get a local simcard and a datapack from the phone company, which is cheaper.
