Cons: Both of my credit cards were charged and I ended up being charged over $600 for a rental that was supposed to be a little
When I tried to extend my rental through Budget for 2 days, they wanted to charge me more than 2 times the rate kayak was offering for the same car I already had. So, I rebooked through Kayak, and even though I was keeping the same car, they insisted I come in, close out original rental agreement, and then start a new one, for the same car. Then they charged my American Express card $545 instead of the $188, in addition to charging my Citicard for the extended rental. Everything was a hassle and I still am waiting for it to be resolved.

Pros: Nice clean car. Fair price.
Cons: Rental agent was rude and unhelpful. Made to wait for a car in my rental category unless I was willing to pay for an upgrade. Changed my reservation to an earlier pickup time and "suddenly" cars in my category were available without upgrade fee. Seems she was just pressuring me into paying an upgrade. Next time in Daytona I'll stick with my usual National Car Rental...no hassle with them.

Pros: The car, very clean for a sandy environment. Fun to drive. Glad I got a Mazda 3 always wanted to try one. Very nice staff

Cons: I drove the car for 2 weeks at a great rate when on my reciet it said to extend would be 9.49 a day. They tried to triple my rate. I rent from Avis or budget 2-3 times a month and I feel that was just wrong. On top of that my car was not ready when needed they gave me an "upgrade" that broke down couple days in. I had to loose a day of work to go drive back and swap cars. I really hope this does something and not just an empty email..
Pros: I loved the close proximity of my rental to the airport, especially with big bags and a toddler in tow. The staff were friendly and helpful. The price was very reasonable (and other car seat rental wasn't extravagant like some places).

Pros: the on line reservation procedure and the car
Cons: I waited ONE HOUR in line with 6 other smuck customers until
the clerks waited on me
They had ZERO customer service skills and their FAT manager was
incompetent and never took action, cared or spoke to the 6 customers
waiting in line including me

Car was not ready, cost me too much
Cons: I called an hour in advance to ensure my car was ready. When I showed up, they told me there would be an hour delay after I had already waited 30 minutes. I was late for a very important appointment and also had to pay $60 additional for an upgrade because I could not wait any longer. I deserved a free upgrade and a reufund.

Pros: Nice car, excellent service once I got through the line and great price.
Cons: Slow line because of alamo and national combined. I was in line 40 minutes.
Cons: They tried to give me s car on empty. Said they couldn't find gas card. When I refused they had to switch out car.

Pros: The price was very competitive (unless you consider adding an addtional driver). The car was clean and operated normally without issue (no cruise control though.....)
Cons: Upon pick up I was advised of a $13.99 fee to add an additional driver (my spouse) which I had never heard of (even with my previous rentals with Hertz). This is, in my opinion, is an over reach and will not consider Hertz in the future as I had never been charged this by other vendors.
Also, the compact car I received, did not have cruise control which is an annoyance if you are taking the car on the highway and obviously did not realize the situation at the time of pick up.

Pros: The car had nice seats. It was a newer car with 14,000 miles.
Cons: The car smelled like cigarette smoke. Randi at the front desk was extremely rude to me and the other customers in line. There was a misunderstanding with where to drop off/pick up car and the front desk lady made it feel like it was our fault and we could not change it. She also said that our car insurance wouldn't cover rental and she didn't even know our policy or ask. Very poor experience! Not renting with Hertz again.

Hertz in a Hurricane
Pros: I liked the original price quoted, I liked the rate to return the car empty. Customer service agents were nice enough. The return was very quick.
Cons: Admittedly I had mistakenly booked a car at an offsite location rather than the airport. When I asked what price the airport location could give me there was a $500 difference. $500! Does that make any sense to anyone?
When I picked up the car on Nova Road I asked if I could return it to DAB,,,would there be a drop off fee? They couldn't tell me and said I would have to call that DAB location. Both Hertz locations less than 5 miles from each other and yet could not share that information...poor customer service. I can't be the first person who has asked that question.
Forecasts of Hurricane Irma made me decide to return home early and was able to get one of the last flights out before the airports closed, but would have to leave from MCO. Having learned from my first experience I called MCO location and was told I would have to call the Nova Road location. Does this make sense? Again poor customer service. Called Nova Road and they said I could return to MCO with additional charge. So I wound up paying $80 more to return to MCO due to a hurricane having rented the car for 4 days instead of the original 9 day reservation. My $22 a day turned into $66 per day plus change fees. I will not choose Hertz again. And I am a gold member.

Pros: The car was to be picked up at noon, but my plane came in later at 1:15. I did not get a car until 2:30 and that was not the small SUV I had reserved. I had to keep going up to the counter to ask why there was such a long wait. Finally I said I would take anything. The price was lowered for the poor and smaller replacement car, but I had to waste time negoitiating. Then it was not accurate in the receipt so I had to go back in to the agent. I did not leave DAB until 3PM. The agent at DAB feigned sweetness and patience but used subtle put downs in a negative effort to keep me from being annoyed. I will be sending a letter to the corporate officer describing the unpleasant experience. Thank goodness for the delightful Kevin at the Palm Coast location two days later.
Cons: Nothing was acceptable....! I will be writing a formal complaint to the corporate office after my vacation.
