The fares posted do not reflect additional charges. The rate for the period was over double of what was posted once I checked out. As a note, I now accept the insurance coverage by the car rental agency as I relied on my own (very comprehensive) insurance in the past and last year was hit by another driver and spent 10 months trying to rectify and even though the accident was deemed at no fault to myself, I paid over $1000 in auxilary fees to the rental company based on the contract, even though my company paid for coverage. THIS DRIVES UP THE RATE CONSIDERABLY...be advised!

Moe, in Nashville was a big help. It was the ending of a long day when I got to the hertz kiosk. I was at the gold membership zone (I’m not a gold member) and instead of sending me back into the airport, Moe took care of me. He was quick and efficient and friendly. Everything was perfect with the car but it was out of washer fluid.

I prepaid for my car rental for a one way and when I got there they charged me another $150 and a deposit. I was only needing it for one day and I feel like it was too expensive. I hate how they hit with extra fees when you go to pick up your rental.
Waiting time for the car at arrival was way too long and they tried to convince me to rent different car although I made a reservation about 2 months ahead.

Didn’t get to rent a car because the people told me over the phone that I had to use the card. When I got there, they told me I had to use a credit card and that I also couldn’t rent it because I was a resident of Nashville and this was at the Nashville airport. You guys charge me $16 to cancel my trip, after I wasted an hour, making it to the airport. Sorry but, your customer service is terrible, the people on the phone lead me into a dead end, and I’ll never use the service again, especially after you guys stole my money and my time from me. I had somewhere to be, and the guy at the front desk said there’s a place in Charlotte Pike after I had gotten a ride there to the airport with no time left to need a ride. My day was ruined. Thanks

I was a little concerned renting from a company that is fairly unknown but it turned out to be a great choice! The car was almost brand new and the whole process was simple and easy. Their website was a little difficult to maneuver because I kept getting the information in a different language. I ended up calling a very nice gentleman to change my pickup time and he took care of it all within a couple of minutes!! When we returned the car, there was a very nice young man that made that process a breeze! I would definitely recommend this company because it did seem to be a little cheaper and everyone that I met was very nice and helpful!
The following is not necessarily the fault of Kayak. With this above said, this was my worst car experience I’ve had with any rental company. This vehicle was not safe to be driven. It has a lot of mechanical issues with over 70,000 miles. This is not normally a problem for a Toyota, but it is clearly evident that this vehicle has not been maintained for the last year. The sticker on the windshield leads me to believe the oil has not been changed for over 30,000 miles. The tires are going bald and the car needs new brakes. The alignment is off kilter and the steering wheel had to be turned 20-30 degrees to the left in order to keep the car straight. I have already attempted to contact dollar on this matter because this was the first time I felt unsafe driving a car that was not mine. Aside from that the vehicle was fuel efficient and if they fix the car, it should last many more years.

I made a reservation specifically for a Ford Transit passenger van and Dollar Car Rental tried to give me a Honda Odyssey mini van, which does not have nearly enough space as we needed. So I cancelled the reservation and went with a different rental company who had the vehicle I needed and also ended up spending less money.
Car did not handle good, maintenance light was on and there was a note on withe window that the "tire light is on! (Shop)"

The Avis system was down and we were unable to pick up our rental. The Avis airport staff were not helpful. We had to call Avis ourselves to cancel the rental. We were charged the full price and then refunded only a portion of the fees. They owe us $100. We’ve not been able to get a complete refund as the Avis telephone team couldn’t locate our reservation to help! Absolutely the poorest customer service in the airport and with their telephone and chat teams.

My experience with Avis was horrible. There was a deposit policy that wasn’t clearly stated and the money couldn’t be split between 2 credit cards. They didn’t accept cash or debit cards, making my reservation obsolete. When I asked the clerk if there was anything I could do, he seemed to take a little pleasure in telling me there was nothing he could do. Instead of being stranded in Nashville with an Avis reservation I couldn’t redeem, I went across to Enterprise and rented a nice vehicle through them with no deposit on the spot. I would never rent through Avis because there are too many strict rental restrictions that make a recreational traveler inconvenienced.

The first car had drugs, some white powder substance. I only found one individual baggie but that was enough. It took a while to get exchanged. I did get another SUV and got it home to realize the key fob was slowly dying. Over the course of four days, it got to the point where I couldn’t lock or unlock the vehicle and it wouldn’t recognize the key fob while driving. I had to exchange it. I take it an hour back to the airport. They try to put another battery in it and that doesn’t work. So it’s something computer related with the fob. They say, “No problem, we will exchange it.” Great! I got another vehicle and it worked out. However, when I turned in the final vehicle I got a bill for a transfer fee and a few other fees I already paid with the original purchase. The problems here are, the drugs cost me a lot of time and they weren’t even going to compensate me at all. They ended up just giving me a voucher. The key fob issue was a huge inconvenience because I was going camping so I got the car very early so I could pack based on the vehicle I got. I did that. I packed everything. I was ready to go and couldn’t lock or unlock the car. I can’t go on a camping trip with something like that! It’s not safe or reasonable. It delayed my trip by about five hours. I had to unpack the SUV and repack it, with no help from the rental car company. The worst part was they charged me for a transfer but not until I returned the final vehicle.

A couple of young entrepreneurs who own this business. Customer service was fantastic, and they were so very helpful. We had to extend our reservation and again it was such an easy process. They are off site however only 5 minutes away and they give you door to door service both ways.

1. The line to redeem my rental voucher at the rental car desk was sooooo long. There was only 1 person working it, which later became 2. But the line was 30 people. None of the other rental companies had a long line. Just this one. 2. The license plate tag was ripped. 3. Overall it just felt like there was not enough attention paid to the customer experience. It took so long waiting in line to get to the counter. I had to reschedule the plans that I made for my brothers bachelor party. It ruined the whole day. I waited for an hour and a half just to be able to get to the line to rent the car. Maybe there are more people needed at the front desk during times of high demand. The car was nice. It wasn’t super clean. The windows were dirty and it smelled like someone had smoked in it before. Other than that it was a good experience.
