Car did not come with snow tires, only car that had snow tires was extra. Car windshield was damaged during travel from rocks on high being flung up and am being charged roughly $830 for the repair for small cracks.

The customer service is not great. I asked to add the insurance a couple of time and they never got it done. I called to change the car since we didn't order a basic mini suv, but I needed to go to Richmond to make the change. The car was very dirty and damaged and the tires were not great. The value was good but I'm now dealing with the customer service again for the return. They asked me to pay for the damages when a claim was sent to my insurance company since they couldn't do it properly with their insurance the first time around.

I had to take my partner to the hospital for an emergency on the morning of pick-up, and was late to pick up my rental. When I arrived, I was told the car I had already paid upfront for, for the whole day, had been rented out to someone else, and that the customer service agent couldn't do anything to help as I had booked through a third party. Terrible customer service experience - I will not be using this company again, and would not recommend to anybody.

The car I was given was extremely loud, making me feel very unsafe driving it. Probably a first generation hybrid, hence the noise, but I question if fit to drive at all. I also asked for a receipt upon returning the car. It was denied saying the company does not allow that. It makes no sense. How can one prove they returned the car if they can't have a receipt ? First time I hear this. The two different clerks were pleasant otherwise.

Pros:

I prepaid online and reserved my car to pick up at 8. Arrived at 8 to find no one there, had to call and ask for someone to help me out. I reserved the car at a specific time for a reason, and I wasn’t getting out of there with the car until after 9. A bit ridiculous in my eyes, Such a lack of care to their costumers. Oh wait there’s more. I bought insurance prior on kayak, but not straight from rent-a-car. Resulting in them withholding a massive fee on my credit card and saying I owe them nearly a grand to replace a windshield because of a tiny chip in the windshield due to driving on the highway. I’ve rented cars before and have never dealt with this kind of thing. No windshield replacement should be that much, and the chip is so minor it could easily be filled for very cheap. But instead rent a car is money grabbing and taking advantage of me. In the process of trying to figure out my claim with the third party insurance, which of course has not been easy. All in all I’m extremely upset by my experience and would recommend you go else where to rent a car.
