Much better than the Kia small SUV we rented the other portion of our trip. That car was terrible. The sprayers on the left wipers came in handy, but the gear shift was a bit tricky to use. Safety measures were very obvious, sometimes annoying, but overall helpful. The only real.negative was around navigation - the built in nav is the worst and most useless I've ever seen in a car. We mostly used Android Auto and it worked great via Bluetooth 90% of the time. But one of the days it just stopped working and wouldn't connnect, no.matter what we tried. Eventually, after a stop, it randomly started working again. Overall it handled well, got good gas mileage and provided plenty of room.

The customer service is excellent. Pick up and drop off process is very easy. If I can suggest, it would be nicer if Thrifty has a newer fleet for a minivan because this Toyota Hiace is definitely on the older version

Scotty at Auckland airport was great, helpful friendly etc but after that all downhill. I’ve emailed thrifty 3 times about issues with the car and still have had no reply. I called their customer service and the issue was not resolved. The car has been returned but the office was closed at 4 pm on a week day so I could only drop the keys off and still have not been able to speak to anyone. Poor customer service.

Check in experience was harsh person overcharged me for premium insurance. He told me different rate and on invoice he charged me $53 per day for insurance.

Don’t rent from Europcar! The issue is they charge for minor wear and tear…in our case a minor 10cm scratch on the alloy hubcap. Cost $350. I suggest go with a different company.

Car itself was great. Understaffed pick up desk. Waited 45 minutes to get the car once at the car park. When returning, there was no staff and no signage/directions for how to return (at 8:30 am) and had to walk to the arrivals area of the airport to inform staff there of the returned car.

The pick up was amazing, the staff on that day talked us through everything. The drop off however was bad, the location was terrible to find and there wasn’t anyone there. Just a note on the door saying that they’re already of for the day (hours before the normal closing time). Since I had some questions about the rental, it was disappointing that I didn’t had anyone to talk to. The car itself was good, besides the point that the connection to the phone wasn’t working, wich made the experience less pleasant. It was a big safety issue trying to navigate with the phone while there was no good place to put it. The staff that we called just told us that there’s nothing he can do because it’s probably a issue with the cords in the car.
