The Sercotel Guadiana Hotel is an elegant 4 star hotel located a few meters from the center of Ciudad Real. In the Junior Suite and the Suite, the toilet has a hydromassage bathtub. You can enjoy its meeting rooms, restaurant, heated pool and gym.
5.0 Okay
Cons: I arrived after a very long drive and was very hungry. I was greeted by a very arrogant bar man. I asked if they had the menu in English. He grunted and threw a file of papers on the counter which was all in Spanish. I left due to his rudeness. I asked the nice girl at reception was there anywhere else to eat as the bar man was so unhelpful. She directed to me to the restaurant on opposite side of lobby to the bar. I went in and there wasn’t a sole to be seen (staff or customers). I ended up going to the petrol station across the road for a sandwich as nothing else in the area. Also the car park is super tight so be careful when parking.
6.3 Good
Pros: It's easy to find and has free parking...not much fun if you drive one of those fuel-consuming 4x4s!! However, there was plenty of on-street parking when we were there. The staff are SUPER-NICE...full marks for them. Head across the petrol station and you're getting into the old part - worth a visit. Good choice of channels on the TV, Although we didn't use it, the mini-bar is well stocked and is quite cheap.
Cons: Air-conditioning seems to be centrally controlled so you're either sweating or freezing (probably sweating in summer!) Sound-proofing doesn't exist in this hotel...heard people being sick and having sex (there was a wedding party there), which is fair enough...you go to a hotel to let "loose" at times, but it ain't fun to be woken constantly by it. In fact, the construction is so poor that we were able to gauge, just through the vibrations, how the couple next door's physical relationship was getting on...at 03:00. Overall, not a good night's sleep, especially when breaking up a journey from Lisbon to the other end of Spain. Would I recommend...? Certainly wouldn't go back there. Within a 10-15 mile radius there are plenty of other options - go for them!
9.2 Excellent
Pros: A beautiful and elegant hotel that is meticulously cared for.
Cons: No one seemed to be on duty at the restaurant when I went there for dinner. The door was open and the tables were set, but no one answered when I called out. I came two different times, a half hour apart. Very strange.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Rooms are old in style and have quality furnishings, which are in good condition. The pool is OK and the underground parking is free, albeit a little tricky to get in and out. The breakfast was good with a large range of foods available - even better if they had some olives and tomatoes. The staff we met were very pleasant and helpful. The hotel’s location is both quiet and very convenient for the town centre.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Love the whole place and comfortable beds and room, lovely, swimming pool and staff
Cons: The breakfast was really bad nothing to eat except for some eggs and really bad beacon no even cooked, and not much to take from , fruits were off when I was going to take one, they think having some cheese and some ham was enough.very disappointed

Pros: Breakfast was good
Cons: The challenge of parking and negotiating very narrow streets in our SUV .
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: The location
Cons: We arrived at 5 am because my mum had passed away and the receptionist was very rude complaining about the time we arrived. When I told her the reason her answer was that she didn’t have rooms with a balcony then we told her that we didn’t mind that we only wanted to rest and that they didn’t like people to arrived at night they should not allow us to book a room from any website. The tv didn’t work properly and the light from the bedside table neither when in the morning we told a different receptionist he didn’t apologize and just took our key.

5.0 Okay
Pros: Staff were friendly and the rooms are big

Cons: The parking is hell to get in and out of!
9.6 Excellent

Cons: Located outside the town and nothing of real interest close by.
6.3 Good
Pros: Nice hotel, pleasant staff, easy to get to

Pros: Comfortable bed.
10.0 Excellent

10.0 Excellent
Pros: It is really good to be able to park in the underground carpark and access the room, reception, the bar and the restaurant without going outside (it was cold and wet when we stayed here). Pros: The wine and food are amazing! The staff are lovely. It’s a beautiful place.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: This was our second stay and as excellent as before. We had the tasting menu in the restaurant and bought wines from the shop when we left. The room was very comfortable with a fabulous view over the countryside. Breakfast was basic but included in the price. Bathroom lovely. I am sure we will be back.
Cons: Nothing - we loved everything and would have loved to stay in the Summer and try out the pool.
5.4 Okay
Pros: The cat The price was cheap The wines - very good - but we found they are sold cheaper in a nearby supermarket.
Cons: Where do we begin - once upon a time this has been a wonderful hotel but has been let go. There is a lovely restaurant which has been awarded Michelin stars 2013/14/15 but now only opens 2 hours for lunch everyday and 2 hours Friday & Saturday nights only. Don’t expect to be fed at night unless you have pre- ordered a cold meal to be prepared at lunch, otherwise only cold tapas are available. The bedroom was getting ready for a repaint, the bed very firm, no fridge or complimentary water, everything else in there was fine, but if there is a storm the power trips so you have to re-insert your room key into its electric point. We did a wine tour, only the 2 of us and our guide spoke less English than we speak Spanish, we were given notes in English, our guide met us at the hotel and advised when it was built, he then took us to the winery pointing at the fields on the way, it was Sunday so nothing was operational yet it was mid harvest, but he went through their processes and we established the grapes were grown naturally with no addition of pesticides or insecticides but harvested by machine over a 2-3 month period by vineyard staff only. He then showed us an area of wines reserved for families who are part of their wine club, we then ended up in the restaurant for our ‘tasting’, he arranged for us to be given a glass each of Talva with cured Monchello cheese, then went into the kitchen as he was the chef. We were offered no further wine to taste. So we got fed we decided to have the Sunday lunch, we choose a set 3 course menu which included water, wine & coffee for €27 each, the starters were excellent, the mains we both choose wrong for our tastes, the sweets were good, we got 2 glasses of wine each but no coffee, service was not the best but probably due to the language barrier, the Spanish got far better service, with top ups of wine and coffee. We struggled to find the pool which only had 1 sun-bed.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: The staff was really nice and helpful. Rooms incredibly comfortable, excellent view and cleaned.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Energetic staff running between the reception and shop to serve. The wine tour is a lovely experience for our family. Great food pairing with wine in the restaurant you shouldn't miss them.
4.2 Okay
Pros: Hotel room was clean and quite big, has potential to be good.
Cons: The hotel is no way a 4 star hotel, there is no possibility to get dinner except on weekends. the breakfast is really poor, The Bodega is only open in weekends. TV is really tiny. Left a day earlier than we were going to do.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: We booked for a weekday, knowing that the restaurant would be closed in the evening, and had the lunchtime tasting menu with accompanying wines, which was excellent value. The room was comfortable and the location lovely. There was no food available in the evening although we could get liquid refreshment. Breakfast was fine.
Cons: No hairdryer in the room. Apparently you have to ask for it at reception, but I didn't know that. Apart from walking round the hotel grounds there wasn't a lot to do. You need to drive to the nearest town.
