They still to date have a hold on my credit card.
Old and run down rooms.
Worn out air con not working as well as fridge and internet was pathetic
A lot of mosquitoes even after spraying. But the worst was the sewerage smell. Even after changing rooms. Was told the room change would be quick, to pack my luggage. 8 hours later, a fully wasted day after enquiring every 1 &a half, just 20 more minutes. I was given a room that every time the tap or shower or toilet was used the smell was horrendous!!! I’ve been to Bali more than 20 times, reminded me of Ubud in the 80’s with open sewers. Nothing done except a hard cake of some kind of air freshener and plastic wrap over a few drain holes and it still stank. I wanted to check out, by this stage I didn’t even care about the refund. But the people I were with didn’t want to leave. The breakfast is really ordinary, plentiful but meh. The people that seat you were the least friendly in 30 years I’ve gone to Bali, never cracked a smile or a hello once. People on reception were friendly, courteous but totally incompetent. They said they’d look into things, or change you and then nothing. You’d go back or ring reception and speak to the same person and the reaction was this is thd first I’ve heard of this. Really poorly trained. I’ve stayed in high and low places in Bali and Lombok and never, ever had overflowing toilets, tiny biting mosquitoes everywhere, I mean everywhere!! The sharpest furniture I cut my leg 3 times, smashed it about 20 times on the bed and thus kind of cube seat ( the only seating besides the bed in that room. The beds were actually pretty great, the pillows too. The linen was changed daily and they were super efficient and the room was always cleaned really well. It was just the smell, it would wake me up and made me retch. Pool ladders are all rusty and squeaky. Bit of pool towel police action going on too, which you wouldn’t mind if they were actually at their station ( I think they do double duty) but you get anxious that you don’t incur a lost towel in the book that you write your name, sign and then the towel has a number to be recorded.
