A briilliant way to visit the South Rim. Checking was easy and they allowed us in our lodge early. We had a great time.
Close to everything. Comfortable, clean. The staff was very friendly. Over all it was a nice place to stay. I would recommend it.
The facilities are not only dated (we expected that), but the staff simply isn't trying. I found food under the bed...years of dust bunnies in the corners. The rooms are dark and lack sufficient lighting.
I went to the Grand Canyon to take pictures, and nothing beats staying within walking distance (even for an old man like me) of the chasm. We stayed in one of the lodge complexes and even had an elk grazing next to our window. If I go back this is the place I'd stay in again.
Pros. Quiet, in the park super close to the general store, restaurant, and the South Rim. Clean and comfortable. Perfect for what we were looking for in the park.
Cons. Whenever neighboring rooms let their doors slam it literally rattled all the doors making it sound like someone was knocking on our door.
Pros. We loved this bare essentials stay. Grocery store on site, tiny fridge, perfect location.
