Pros: The beach was nice. The Italian Restaurant was adults only. We ate there all 3 nights of our stay. The staff was great and the resort very clean, as we have mostly found to be true in Mexico.
Cons: We were there celebrating our 35th anniversary. This was not the place for a tranquil vacation. There were lots of children and families. They bused in people on Saturday, and picked them up on Sunday. The resort was very crowded, particularly the pool. The food was mostly buffets. The snack bar served a greasy hamburger that smelled great and tasted even better.

Pros: The pool and beach were wonderful. The food was great. Loved the omelette, smoothie and quesadilla stations for breakfast. The fish tacos are a must! The grill not only offered hamburgers, hot dogs and chicken wings but guacamole and pico. The rooms were all pool and ocean view and very adequate. But what really stood out was the staff. Not only were they friendly and accommodating to the guests but never saw any impatience or aggravation between coworkers. We WILL be back to Puerto Vallarta and it WILL be at Fiesta Americana.

Pros: The breakfast buffet with omelet bar was great every morning. The coffee shop moved out of the gift shop our last day which was a great improvement. The service in adult lounge was always great and well as the food there. The staff for the most part was very friendly. The restaurant wait staff, the desk personnel, the entrance greeters, the cleaning staff were all amazingly friendly and helpful. We were always greeted with a smile and their salute.
Cons: The hours for the adult lounge were very restrictive. The swim bar closed at 6pm each night which was crazy. I experienced extremely slow service twice while I was there and each of times we left the venue. One of the instances was reported to staff who corrected it the next day, the food on the special nights was lacking flavor and didn’t seem all that special. The overall quality of the food was lacking when you compare it to the Grand Fiesta.

Pros: Staff is very friendly and polite, always willing to please the customer. Comfortable bed. . Hotel pillows very hard. Very nice small beach, pool. Nice bar in the lobby that stays open late. The Ceviche was great at the restaurant by the beach. Beach waiters are excellent.
Cons: Not being able to accommodate large groups in restaurants, only one table for 8 people in each restaurant, and always taken. Waiters were not permitted to join 2-3 tables to accommodate my party. Tables available at buffet but not too many choices of food, gets tiring after few days. In order to share some meals together as a family we end up eating out at La Leche and town restaurants, spending money not in budget. Would not recommend for groups with more than 5 people.

Pros: The Resort was pretty spot on and the lobby was simply stunning. We stayed on the 9th floor and got a great view of the beach and the surrounding area. Hotel staff was friendly and there were plenty of drinks. Family friendly resort
Cons: Not exactly for younger couples looking to party. The resort next door looked like they were having a blast the entire time. Friendly Vallarta next door is where the party was happening: DJ, Mariachi, Banda, they had everything. I fee like Fiesta Americana should do something similar if not bigger. Not too much of a bummer though, quick taxi ride to where all the night life is happening

Pros: * Excellent service in many areas. * Asian and Buffet restaurants were outstanding. * Room service was great. * Each employee we encountered was very good. * Drinks were okay. * I want to stay if it had not been for the service issues at the 2 mentioned restaurants this would have been an outstanding review.
Cons: * The worst part of this restaurant were the Italian and Mexican restaurants. Service was extremely slow in the Mexican (took a group of 10 3 hours from start to finish.) Service was slow and our server was just rude in the Italian restaurant. We went back to the Italian restaurant a 2nd time encountering this same server and he was even worse the 2nd time.

Pros: I loved the room in the preferred with jacuzzi on the balcony. And the preferred bar. Most of the staff was nice, some others were nicer if you tipped. Pools and view were top notch.
Cons: Other all inclusive resorts I've been at included some free excursions this one had none and not many daily activities to choose from. The options on food was limited on options and time. Only loved one restaurant, Bordeaux. Dress code requirements were a bit restrictive, should have more options for lenient dress. DON'T BUY LIQUOR ON THE CITY TOUR! COMPLETE RIP OFF!

Pros: The pool side service we received from Manuel was the only good thing about our stay. He was very attentive, friendly, & fast with our drinks + food.
Cons: I absolutely did not care for the pushy time share sales staff that circles around you every time we walked by. You couldn't even avoid them since their stand is right by the lobby & elevator. In addition, their sales tactics were pretty fraudulent. At first, everything sounds free, then these little fees start getting added and quoted rates change. Even when we were politely declining, they would follow you to the elevator or continue to push. I expected better from Sheraton than to allow this on their resort.

Prob wouldn't do it again. if you're on spring break or a budget this place leaves a lot to be desired. Timeshare pitch was a hassle for guests staying only one night as well.

Cons: The only complaint I have is that we booked a king bed and we got two double beds instead, we tried for two days to switch into a room with a king and gave up. They wanted to put us in a smaller room with no view.

Cons: The constant barrage of timeshare sales people and lack of shuttle service from the airport was annoying. The DJ at the pool was loud and went on far too late. Breakfast was only available until 11 and the buffet breakfast was terribly overpriced. We found that the $100/person for the all inclusive was exorbitant.

Pros: The location of the hotel is excellent. It's close enough to walk to most things and is right on the beach. The pool area was wonderful too. We never struggled to find lounge chairs by the pool. Staff was friendly and helpful. The rooms were simple but clean which was fine for our stay.
Cons: The people in the room next to us stayed out late and were very noisy late at night when they were coming back to their hotel room so the walls must be somewhat thin. The food at the hotel was just ok. I'm glad that we didn't book the all inclusive option for our stay because we would have been tired of the food by the end of our stay. There are plenty of delicious restaurants nearby so there is no need to eat at the hotel all the time.

Pros: The location was central enough to walk most places and the bus and cab lines were easy to use. The rooms were very clean and the staff was very courteous.
Cons: Adult beverages were pretty weak. The condition of the rooms was ok, but nothing special and ours was a bit musty. They were also doing renovations on the tops 2 floors of the hotel while we there. You could hear every conversation that anyone was having in the hall and our toilet would occasionally run for no reason and was LOUD. If you love bad covers of any song, then this resort has the music selection for you.

Pros: Room was large, bright and super clean. The pools and grounds were also nice and very clean. There are 3 restaurants and a deli, all are good and reasonably priced. For example, a burger or a Mexican dish and a beer are in the $8-$15 range. All of the prices in the restaurants and shops were shown with tax included. I stayed a week and had no surprises or problems. The staff is exceptional. Its easy to catch a bus to the malecon (downtown) for 7.5 pesos, or a taxi is about 100 pesos. I have paid more for places that weren't as good, so I was very satisfied.
Cons: The beach area for this hotel was OK, but not an expansive beach. But there's nothing to stop you from walking along the beach as far as you want. This is not a place where you step out of your room on to the beach. You'll have to take a few steps.

Cons: If you do not do all inclusive then you must preload credits to your room. If say you run out of these credits and need to charge your dinner to your room you have leave the restaurant, walk back to your room, get your wallet, walk back to the front desk, then back to the restaurant to pay ... total first world problem but it is an annoying change. You used to be able to open a credit card on the room when you got there and that was that. Also the beds requested were not available so we had to share one king. Also not the biggest deal but just know your request is just a suggestion to the hotel and they will not do anything to move you around.

Pros: The food here is great! You can also bring in your own food to cook (the rooms have full kitchens and there are grills outside), but I would consider eating at the restaurants. A tip: The wifi is not free, but if you buy something from the restaurant in the market, you can ask for a wifi code that is valid for the entire day. Otherwise, the charge is $10 per day per device. I was never approached once by a sales rep in the lobby, so that wasn't a problem as some reviews have suggested. On the beach, however, everyone has something to sell.
Cons: The hotel is not close to downtown, so a cab ride is required. Also, there are plenty of people trying to sell you things on the beach and that can get a bit tiring.

Cons: Our 'concierge' did the normal, take a 90 minute tour, get some free stuff. The 90 minutes was 4 hours. The free stuff was free anyway. When we didn't but at the end of the tour, two con artists drove us back and set us up for a free breakfast and free tickets to Rhythms of the Night and tour of a new place the next morning WITH NO SALES PITCH. I wouldn't go. My wife and daughter-in-law went. During the taxi ride they were assured NO SALES PITCH several times. When they arrived, they couldn't have breakfast or the free tickets unless they agreed to a "90 minute sales pitch". They left and had to pay for a taxi back. A wasted morning. The bad was so bad that I can't remember anything good about VDP.

Cons: I didn't like that we basically missed our last day of vacation because of Hurricane Patricia. It barely rained and I never saw any high winds.

Pros: The staff is very friendly, helpful, thoughtful and try to make your stay as enjoyable as possible. There is always an activity going on and the staff are very active in the activities. It is a smaller resort so the staff all get to know who you are relativity quickly. It really feels like you are staying with a family. The food is good, nothing spectacular and it doesn't change much. We did not go to the spa so we can't say anything about that. The staff puts on much of the entertainment and they do quite well and because you know them personally it makes the shows seem infinitely better.
Cons: We paid by the night and it was the same price as a 4 star. Our room was big and clean. More than adequate but it is an older building in a hot humid climate so its pretty much what you would expect. It is also a smaller resort so groups can have a big influence on your stay. If you are expecting 4 or 5 star hotel rooms and food you may be disappointed. Honestly you have more fun here. If you are trying to stay away from kids it is challenging depending on groups staying.

Pros: Excellent customer service and guest treatment. After an incident that we went thru when 2 Police offers robbed us the situation went to the manager ears, Marisol Olivier, she went above and beyond so we can have a prefer treatment after we went thru. The food was amazing and definitely we will be back to this hotel. Incredible experience at the Hacienda Buenaventura.

Pros: The staff were all very accommodating, friendly and happy to help. The rooms were clean and well kept through the entire stay. The location was great and absolutely beautiful.
Cons: The food wasn't very great. It seems the kitchen is not the cleanest of places. We found fish bones in the pork and the lettuce definitely got me sick. I spent 12 hours feeling the revenge, if you know what I mean. I would save the money on the all inclusive. Also, I would recommend the beer or simple drinks. Anything like margaritas or bloody Mary's tasted awful.
