ImperialePros: I liked the location
Pros: great location. some staff helpful.Cons: One man behind front desk was rude! I know standard check in is not until 3pm. He first tells me he'll get my room ready by 230 or so. OK, I sit and wait til 315PM, he has totally forgotten me after letting other folks in. then he disappears. Finally I ask and another manager lets me in my room and apologies.
Pros: The staff was incredibly helpful AND always so cheerful! The rooms were beautifully appointed. It's in a great location that's beautiful (especially at night) but not overrun with tourists. Cons: A little more info on the Metro & where/how to buy tickets would have been great.
Called the policePros: Literally not much. I think some part of our stay should be refunded. If not for the terrible event in the morning the for the misadvertisement of ammenities. Cons: We were late for our train had already paid for our room. I have stayed in four and five star hotels plenty. Not saying we didn't look young or scruffy but in no way we're we staying above our means. We tried to leave quickly in the morning they assumed we trashed the room they locked us inside the lobby, and threatened to call the police if we left before they checked. So I tried to explain they had my credit card and passport on file and I would give them my phone number if there were any issues my best friend who I was traveling with pleads with him in Italian and he starts yelling at my friend physically restraining him. It was disgusting behavior for a four star hotel. Also there was no gym which they advertised they had and essentially was the only reason we booked the hotel. This would never fly any where else I have stayed it was truly deplorable, but more then that I was just disappointed to have had search for a place that seemed nice and welcoming and comfortable, a break from the rest of our journey, and instead been sucked into a place with so little respect for its clientele. It's on a horribly touristy street filled with a couple bad restaurants a Hard Rock Cafe and a strip club. Although there is a fantastic wine shop around the corner with a very sweet owner.
Pros: Nice location on the Via Venito close to the Metro station. Lots of very good restaurants nearby and walking distance to the Spanish Steps. The service was wonderful and most of the front desk staff spoke English. Everyone was helpful and went out of their way to make our stay enjoyable.Cons: The bathroom was very tight. The wifi worked well in the lobby, but our room was at the far end of the third floor hall and the signal was off and on.
Pros: The location is perfect. Really nice breakfast. Nice spaces for chat with friends. Very kind and helpful staff. Cons: There was no control of heating/air-conditioning in every room.
