Standard SUV

The rental location closed at midday but we weren’t informed of this when booking. As a result we couldn’t pick up our car. The Budget location at Sacramento airport wouldn’t honour our booking either se we had to cancel and use another company.

Car, SUV, was fine and addressed our needs. We were disappointed in the lack of flexibility at customer service. We asked for a 3-4 hour extension to drop off so we didn't have to drive all day and into the night. They said any extension is charged at a full 24 hour rate even 5 minutes. Representative said he had no discretion on charge. We ended up just making drop off deadline but didn't have time to stop for gas. They charged $9.90 per gallon! Outrageous! I live in Tennessee and pay between $2.50 and $3.00 per gallon. If all rental companies do this, I will never rent for pleasure. I often rent in Europe and they are much more flexible in their rules and policies. I am an Avis Preferred member, but I did not feel preferred at Avis.

I never rented as when I called to be picked up from the airport they said they close earlier than the time we agreed for me to drop the car and suggested I should rent from somewhere else

The office was closed without explanation and made us late for our trip as we had to find another rental. Their phone numbers are mostly disconnected. Super unprofessional.

Cons:

Staff was extremely unprofessional and does not take accountability for their lack of thoroughness with their product. The van we rented was in severe need of a check-up - tail lights not working, oil change, alignment, electrical, etc.... when this brought to their attention they only made excuses and told us “well, you rented a van.” They didn’t care. Don’t rent a van from this company.

Pros:

I waited at the rental company for two hours and no one ever arrived to rent me a vehicle. I tried reaching them by phone and email, but still haven’t heard back from them.

Cons:

I needed a car, but ended up going to another company the following day.
