After-hours drop-off was not clear, so I waited the extra 30 minutes until the branch opened to return. The return agent, nonetheless, was quick and courteous. While I refilled the tank before returning the vehicle, I was charged another R100 (about US$5.50) after return to top up the tank, even though the gauge was on Full. The distance-to-empty on the dashboard was higher when I returned it than when I received it.

Cons:

I got the wrong car on pick up - not what I had booked. The upgrade offered was not suitable (much smaller loading space)

They told me they didn’t have the car I booked at the price I booked and forced me to “upgrade” and pay more to get the same car I already booked online. Classic bait and switch tactics, will never use Europcar again.
