I pre-paid my car rental with Budget, and they charged my card $7,457.87 upon return. I could not get them to reverse the charge after multiple calls. The agent at the return counter called it erroneous after I exhausted all other customer service lines, and said an extra digit had been added. I still did not get the amount credited back and ended up disputing the transaction with my credit card issuer. The 90 minute wait in line at pick-up with only 2 people in front of me was also completely unacceptable, as the agent was not trained or capable to do his job. Never again.Reviewed 24 July 2026

Arrived at the pickup location waited 20 minutes in line and then the agent was completely disinterested in providing any kind of customer service. After about 10 minutes she finally told me that they didn’t have any cars available. Approximately 5 minutes later she said she had a car available but not the class I had booked. I booked a SUV and she only had a Camry for the same rate. I accepted the vehicle. Then I went out to the car and the vehicle was disgustingly dirty. Exterior was barely washed but the interior was even worse. Stains all over the seats and horrible smell. The worst part was the registration had expired in 02/2026, this was 07/2026. Completely unsafe and unacceptable. Will never rent with Budget SDF again.Reviewed 24 July 2026

Worst rental car experience I’ve ever had. I can’t believe I paid $400 for that. It was over an hour wait standing in line to get the car since there was only 1 employee working while the rest were wandering the garage. Then we were given a less fuel efficient car than we booked with no warning. And the car reeked of weed so bad we were nauseous our entire 2 hour drive. There was also no employee at the gate to let us out so we waited there for another 10 minutes.Reviewed 24 July 2026

Courtesy-friendliness at counter needs to be improved. Asked me how many people will be in my group. I said just me, but I had rented a minivan. I feel most comfortable being up high. She said I would have to wait for my minivan but she would upgrade me… when I get outside to pick up my car… my “ upgrade “ was a FORD ESCORT. Seriously?! I pre-booked a Mercedes A-Class, but when I arrived, they gave me an Audi A3 instead. The car was not very clean, and although it was a hybrid, the battery was not charged completely. It also had no rearview camera, and the key fob battery was almost dead. After four days, I went back to report the issues, but the manager told me to go and exchange the key fob battery myself. I came on vacation to relax, not to spend my time dealing with problems that should have been handled by the rental company. In my opinion, this was very poor customer service. Another issue was the fuel. I received the car with about 90% fuel, showing a range of around 650 km. I returned it with the same fuel level and the same estimated range, yet they still charged me an extra €25 for fuel, which made no sense. Overall, I had a disappointing experience. I paid over €1,200 for a 10-day rental and expected much better service. The car was not clean, had an unpleasant smell inside, and did not match the vehicle I originally booked. But transfer from Air port to car and back way fast and nice, thanks for this!Reviewed 23 July 2026
