Cons:Gas tank only had 1/4 tank. Rep told me I could fill it up and get reimbursed if I brought it back with more which is not true. Car smelled like BO and ran very rough with a rattle. Rep at return site was unfriendly. Terrible experience that cost way too much.Reviewed 7 May 2021

Rented a car that wasn't availablePros:That they called me before I arrived...to find no carsCons:Kayak allowed me to book a car through budget that wasn't available. The budget rental car and the 3rd party vendor (K), should have a better form of communication to ensure people do not reserve a rental car that is not available.Reviewed 26 Mar 2018

Make Copy of Rental Agreement Before Using OptionaPros:Clean car, very nice attendants at the Budget desks in FLO and CHSCons:Recently I rented a car in Florence SC (FLO) and drove one-way and dropped off in Charleston SC (CHS). Once I got home to Alaska, I noticed my credit card was charged a pending fee of ~$700.00 vs. the $53.59 on the signed rental agreement. I was told by the Budget attendant, who checked in my rental car in CHS that all I needed to do was drop off my rental agreement in the Drop Box at the Budget desk. That's what I did. The waiting line was long at the Budget desk, so it was nice to have the Drop Box so I wouldn't be late for my departing flight. I called the 1-800 customer service # to get this cleared up, and it was immediately taken care of so that my credit card was never charged the ~$700.00. A little bit of a hassle, but Budget was very responsive. Next time, I will make a copy of my rental agreement before I use the Drop Box.Reviewed 23 Apr 2016
