we had a flat tire in the middle of Idaho and called customer service. Even after 1 hour, no one came to help us, which they said they will communicate in next 10mins. Lucky for us highway patrol helped us.

We got a free upgrade.It took us quite a while to find a car in the parking garage. There were not overhead signs directing us to the right spot. Finally we found an employee who showed us where the car wash.

I ordered an Audi Q7 and they didn't have it when i went to pick up my rental so they gave me a Infinity Q60 instead... If i wanted it a Infinity i would have rented one. So I say they should be better and work on offering what they'll really have or not rent forward the vehicles they already have rented for an specific day

My rental experience was terrible. We arrived at the Thrify desk to a sign that said proceed to the parking garage. When we got there there was no one there. We waited with a group of other customers to no avail so we returned upstairs. Then we realized that although there is a thrifty counter they were operating out of the Dollar rental desk. But nobody told us! So by the time we realized we had to wait in an awful long line at the Dollar counter. It took us an hour to wait. The car itself was terrible. It was clean but the rotars caused vibrations when breaking down Parleys Canyon and I was going a reasonable speed. Never again.

The pickup situation was terrible, but dropoff was a smooth process. For pick up, I had to wait in line for an hour and a half to find out that Hertz could have helped me (and did end up helping me). I felt bad for other people in line who were going to miss funerals and Doctors appointments. They really should have a kiosk option of they are going to be that short staffed.

There was a very long ling at the pickup counter and a significant delay in receiving the vehicle. It was very nice that the attendant gave us a free upgrade to a slightly larger vehicle.

Regardless of when you reserve a pick up time, they ask you to wait 30-45 minutes and day it's because you reserved on the same day as pick up. I've never encountered this w any company and if that's their policy, they should make it clear and provide that info when you reserve. They also try to force insurance and act as though it's mandatory, it is not. Tricky, slow and inaccurate are the best descriptors for Thrifty's rental experience.

The suburban we rented was in good shape and we had no mechanical issues while rentingIt took an hour to pick up despite having a reservation because it was being cleaned. Once picked up it smelt heavily of smoke. We were also charged a hefty concession fee not noted in the original quote.

It was a nice new clean car.Pickup is very slow. A long line, with only two desk agents. Why do they ask all the same questions I already entered in when I made the reservation? They should have my name, address, phone number, drivers' license, and credit card. Just give me the keys, please. It shouldn't take nearly as long as it takes.

The pickup at Salt Lake City airport had 1 attendant for 30 people, then the manager on duty arrived and helped. The attendants did the best they could with the crowd they had to manage.We had potential safety issues with our car when 4 and a half hours away from a rental office. We repeatedly were disconnected from service agents on the phone, and NO FOLLOWUP when this happened. Had to spend several hours on hold with NO resolution and, I repeat, NO FOLLOWUP. The safety issue turned out to be OK, but Thrifty was not interested in the least to help us ensure our safety was assured and our vacation plans not totally upended.

I was in line for over 1 hour to pick up the car in SLC.....unsatisfactory! Everyone in line had reservations, so not sure how "manning the booth" during this period was not better predicted. If I hadn't prepaid, I would have moved over to another vendor. Agents did their best to keep things moving and were courteous. I appreciate the gesture of an upgrade, but didn't really need it.

Within a day and a half (less than 200 miles), the car warning system said Change Oil Soon. Ok, not that big of a deal. However, by Saturday (day 4 1/2) the warning switched to Oil Change Required. The message came on every 15/30 minutes. Unfortunately we were in a remote area near Bryce Canyon. We called the Dollar Roadside Assistance number, and they offered poor options... come switch for another car, etc. Finally the nice woman asked if we could go get the oil changed. The problem was it was now Saturday afternoon with no service stations or bigger towns nearby. We did get to see Bryce Canyon, but had to cancel the rest of our Saturday plans because we did not want to continue on the scenic route in the middle of nowhere with the potential to burn up the engine. We took the shortest route we could to Richfield, UT (where our Saturday night hotel reservations were). The extremely nice hotel clerk helped us... she called Walmart and they agreed to stay open until we got there after 6 pm to change the oil. While the car ran fine and Dollar did reimburse us for the oil change, obviously there was poor maintenance when they would send out a car needing an oil change so quickly! Our Saturday plans got ruined and it added to a very stressful day!

We took pictures of scratches and damage to car prior to exiting Dollar lot and notified checkout clerk. She agreed to note it on the electronic contract but never did. Upon return of car in Las Vegas they wanted to charge me for repairs until I showed visible proof on my camera of prior damage done by others. A warning to others to insist on proof that the check out process of inspection is approved and certified by Dollar.

When we deplaned and got into the over 1 1/2 hour wait in line of over 50 people to get our car everyone was rumbling that there were no cars available for 2 more hours. After enduring that, Once we got sent down to the garage to get our car it was not in the spot assigned. Waited another 20 minutes for someone to bring something up, which was not what we were assigned. They said "Take it, it's all we got". ** The drop off location (in another city) was listed incorrectly. The address given for drop off was in the middle of the "HOOD" #GHETTO. We had to google the nearest Dollar and just take it there.

Pick up was a mess. There were dozens of people/groups with reservations and it was clear that Dollar had over booked and did not have nearly enough cars for those present. I happened to luck out that the one car they had left was a van (which I had reserved in advance) by the time I got to the front of the line, which took ~2 hours in the middle of the afternoon on a Thursday. In addition, the car itself had clearly not been totally cleaned (a wrapper and napkin were in the back seat).

When I arrived at the airport at 8:30 p.m. I was told they had overbooked and there was no car available for me. I was told that they would reimburse me the cost of an Uber each way from my hotel and could come back in the morning to pick up my car. I was told I would be reimbursed for the lost day. When I returned at 7 a.m. the next morning none of those promises were kept. I was told to ask kayak for repayment of the lost day and I was given a voucher toward my next rental for the Uber costs. Big deal! I don't see me renting from Dollar Car Rental again.

The car was not cleaned...there was food underneath the driver side. No walk around check...hairline small crack in the front windshield, tire was semi flat and light came on within 10 minutes , engine maintenance light came on right when we got on the freeway. just the worst rental I had in 10 years. Waited forever for customer service line to answer.

Had to wait in an hour long line after already having a reservation. Once I got to the counter, I was asked basic or extra coverage, not “or you can waive this.” In my rush after waiting so long, I just said basic. When I saw the charges were different from my reservation after I was given a car, I went to the kiosk and asked why there was a difference. I was told it was the basic coverage. I then asked her to remove it because I have insurance and was told, “sorry, I can’t do anything about it.” On top of that, the car was not a midsize suv. It was so cramped and we could barely fit everything in there. They tire you out just to get you to sign everything and refuse to change it. Unfortunately, there were no other rentals, so I was forced to take the car. I will NEVER use Avis again. I’d rather pay twice as much somewhere else and actually get what I paid for.

You SLC staff was disappointing. From arrival the agent was the only agent at that time and he lacked friendliness. It was just pick up your documents and get out. Picking up the car I had a tire warning light showing so I walked to the garage office to get some assistance. The agent was sitting on a chair leaning against the wall with shades on at 6am looking like I was bothering him. He didn’t stand to address me only told me it’s cold and the sensor will go away or that “I need to drive to a gas station and fill air”. That was piss poor customer service, if you don’t want to work and just want to enjoy your high, quit and stop waiting customers hard earned money and time. SLC needs a huge training on customer service and how to meet or exceed customer expectations. We ain’t asking much, just for a clean vehicle and a smile. A bonus would be their local suggestion on must eat or see places. I know this little survey will go un-noticed but I wish you would look and actually address.

Waited for over an hour to pick up car, then car was not in designated area assigned the car was given to someone ahead of me literally 2 minutes ahead of me. Waited another hour to get into another vehicle AND billed twice for the car. AND price not what I booked it at….it was 3x the price I booked at. Very disappointing experience would not recommend renting through Avis. Have called 2 managers to get help with on the reimbursement of being billed twice for the same car and NO return call from either. Was told they couldn’t do anything at the location when I told them I had been billed twice and for different amounts. Was going to dispute the credit card bill and was told if I did I would have to go back upstairs and start over. Poor service and upstairs is a double booking cars. Terrible and NOW trying to get my account refunded for over $1,600 charged for one for 4 days.

The car was comfortable and clean. I'm disappointed with the car maintenance. The car had over 36000 miles and needed new tires. I wasn't aware of this until I needed to add air to the tires. I told the mechanic it was a rental car prior to filling the tires. He told me to be sure to tell AVIS.

1.5 hour wait to get car!!! Very long line and not enough agents for level of reservations. Returned car 1 day early and had to stand in line for 50 min. to get adjustment in bill. Once I got server, the team did well. Again, understaffed for level of business. Many others deeply frustrated with both getting and returning cars. Tom Leonard

(1) No car was available despite having a confirmed reservation. No car, we were told, would be available within a day. We were left in the cold, along with other customers at Payless. (2) No one at Payless offered, let alone actually helped us locate another car. (3) Despite the fact that Payless/Kayak cancelled the reservation, I was charged the $77 for insurance. (4) I was lucky to get the last car available at the SLC airport BUT for $1100 additional ($1691 vs. $590), and a vehicle I would never have chosen otherwise. I hope your customer care people will reply to this message. I will be taking action to correct these errors; a company whose purpose is purportedly hospitality is not going to do well if it permits atrocious occurrences such as this. Yes, things go wrong sometime. But, in those cases, you are responsible for addressing them, and to anticipate how to serve your customers - or lose them.

Payless said that while I had a valid reservation, that they could not honor it as they had no cares. Worse yet, others had prepaid their car rentals, and they could not provide them with a car either. Honestly the man behind the counter tried to help by finding other cars at other agencies, but in the end, he suggested people either go on line to reserve with another agency or just wait in line and find out what they had. What makes my case even more impactful as my mom was in hospice and I was heading to see her for last visit. A did get there in time, so all good there, but the added stress of arriving after 7 hours of flying, only to be told, essentially, sucks to be you... not a brand I will trust again.

The line was long at Avis/Payless, but that was expected given the shortage of ten cars and increased demand. They didn’t have the midsized car I reserved but gave me a Toyota Sienna hybrid minivan for the same price, which was unexpected and generous. But the car, with 14000 miles, wasn’t very clean, both dirty on the outside. The windows and mirrors looked like they were wiped with a dirty rag, and we found the rear console appeared to have dried soda all over the surfaces. When we started driving we heard a loud whistling. When we arrived at our hotel I discovered the source; a missing trim piece around the windows. Finally, as we were approaching the airport to drop off the minivan the tire pressure light came on. Fortunately it must have been a slow leak and didn’t strand us. We let the return attendant know about the issues so they could possibly fix them before the next rental. We especially didn’t want someone to get a flat. But overall I was pleased with the experience, again given the difficulties the car rental industry is experiencing this year.

Waited 2 hours in a line at Salt Lake International due to no available agents, they had only 2 for many people and some took 20 minutes or longer because of problems. The Nissan we rented was not cleaned well and smelled bad. Return went smooth but will not wait vacation time again at such a poor system.

The car was nice. And complimentary shuttle was great.Customer service could have been better, it did not feel that welcoming. When shuttling having my information to verify we aren’t getting into a strangers car would have felt safer. When going over the pre damages on the car before I leave I felt that it would be more beneficial for them to come out and inspect the car with me rather than me doing it alone. Security deposit amount needs to be listed because that was a surprise. But we enjoyed the car and returning it was easy. I just feel that those other things I mentioned need to be worked on.

The rate was great and I like that they had Toyota Sequoias.The pick-up drop off is a little clunky. The exterior signs at the airport do not say Advantage, the driver for another company explained that one shuttle picked up for Advantage and the other. And I know that this is not necessarily Advantage's fault but when you google Advantage Airport another location in SLC shows up.

Pickup is by shuttle that stops at the airport Rental Car office for other brands. Return to that office offsite is navigable by Google mapping.Satisfied with rental. Mid Size SUV reserved was Toyota Rav4 but substituted with Mitsubishi Outlander of equivalent size, also 4WD.

There should be additional questions when booking so that you are aware of the price diu long upon pickup and so you’re not thinking the price you paid at reservation was it when it wasn’t. I will never rent from Advantage again.

The manager did make corrections to fix the problems and was very kind.The car was very dirty at pickup outside. Full of scratches and a cigarette burn hole in the seat. They charged an upgrade charge without permission and a fuel charge w/o permission. As mentioned previously the manager did fix it but when on vacation I don't expect to have to deal with deception

The counter person refused to apply my gold membership to the rental, which meant a lower grade car, giving me some bs about "it must have been associated with the wrong credit card". Then pushed hard to sell me a prepaid tank of gas, claiming gas was more expensive at the drop off city than the pickup. Which was also bs.

Had to wait about 20 minutes for a car that had just returned and had to be cleaned. Not a horrible experience I better would’ve been to have a car right away. The staff person was very helpful and friendly and honest about expectations. Returning the car was much easier and faster. Proximity to the Trax light rail is ideal. It is just a few blocks to the courthouse station on the green line.

The payment process at the counter was inadequate because they could only swipe my charge card and the the charge card I wanted to use would not take swiping. It was the card that provided collision coverage. I attempted to use this card at a later date with a contact that could charge to this card and reverse the charge to the original card used back at the counter at the airport. I was unable to do this according to Hertz. so I was left with no collision coverage. Secondly I want to change my drop off location in Las Vegas to a different hotel. I was told at the Treasure Island locale that this was not possible. It seemed to me there was no help to be had on any issue. I was rather disappointed in the lack of any help.

Reserved an GMC Yukon 2 weeks in advance and when I got to the office they said they they didn’t have one. Then they said the best they could do is a chevy traverse and it was at a different location. She then says in a very condescending tone “ It closes in half an hour too”! Not wanting to miss out on having any transportation, I paid for a taxi to take me to pick up the vehicle I didn’t want. I figured I would call them the next day and get the whole thing straightened out. When I tried calling Hertz, it was more frustrating than the counter experience! I was hung up on 3 different times. Twice was asked to hold and once just a blatant hang up. I am from the same town where the Hertz world headquarters is so I generally rent from there however after this past experience I am taking my business elsewhere!

Check in was very unorganized and exceptionally long and everyone was communicating the same frustration in line before the line was relocated downstairs. In all of my travels and in much larger volume airports, I’ve never seen anything quite like it.

Renting at SLC location was fine except the cargo van did not come with full fuel level. The agent did mark the rental record accordingly but Hertz does not have record of it. Dropping off the cargo van at Hilton LAX was a major problem. Unlike what was advertised Hertz/Hilton LAX location is not set-up to accept a cargo van at this location. I was told to drop it off at Hertz LAX location, which I did, now Hertz thinks that I still have the cargo van and is now charging my credit card $100/day additional rental fee. Luckily I have pictures/videos documenting everything. Hopefully this nightmare will be over soon without having to waste a lot more of my time. In short, DO NOT rent a CARGO VAN expecting to return it at Hertz/Hilton LAX on a weekend day, otherwise you will be sorry.

Budget was not flexible when our flight was delayed. We were assured that our reservation was good for 24 hours. When we went to pick the car up the next morning (12 hours later) we were told that they did not have a car for us and made no effort to help us find another. We were basically stranded.

A 90 minute wait in line to get car. Car had hail damage and was totally destroyed on exterior, which meant it was probably a salvage titled vehicle. The car was not clean inside our out. ALL of the engine malfunction lights came on and off. Then t top it off, the very loud audible high pitch warning sound came on. I reached out to the company along with filling out a survey, but ZERO response so far.

I liked the car. However the pickup location was not clean, the car was not clean. Given the current pandemic situation, I was appalled that none of the staff wore masks indoors. Service was ok at best. Could be a much better location and experience if the staff cared. Drop off was better as we could finish the drop off outdoors in the parking lot.

There were 75 people maybe more waiting for a car, either to be serviced, or the requested car was unavailable. People were very upset and there was one girl working the counter. She was very nice and I was fortunate that my car was ready after waiting 60 minutes in that long line.

Terrible experience with Budget Car Rental. I will never consider using them again. Due to staffing issues, they had a 90 minute line at SLC. I waited for 30 minutes before leaving the line and finding a car with another company. I tried to call Budget’s customer service multiple times and even the day before on something else. Anytime you feel they are just about to connect, the line disconnects. Terrible company. Clearly have no interest in their customers.

There was nothing to like.Our plane was delayed for an hour and a half. I tried to call Budget and make arrangements for a late pickup. No one would answer any of the phone numbers I called. Every number said to leave a message and someone would call back as soon as possible. I never received a call back. When we finally got to the Budget SLC rental center via Uber, it was closed. We were forced to call Uber a second time and have them return us to the airport. We went to the Budget counter in the airport and had to rent a car for $300 more than our original reservation. We will never use Budget again and I strongly recommend no else should either. It was not our fault the plane was delayed. The Budget counter at the airport should have honored our reservation.

Got lucky and got there before the shuttle dropped off everyone otherwise I would have been there for an hour waiting to pick up my car. Car was in terrible shape upon inspection: front tires had less than 1/8" tread, front right blinker was out, no windshield washer fluid, I'm lucky I didn't run into any bad weather or I would have been in serious trouble

The experience at the pickup wasn’t the best, not very professional. The drop off at the park and jet was awful. The attendant was hateful, directions were unclear and as my daughter said the whole set up was sketchy. It turned out ok but won’t be using them again.

Friendly, helpful and accommodatingOur flight was delayed and we were unable to contact the rental office due to cell phone failure. They saved our car for us over night even though they had no other vehicles available for other customers. And they were so pleasant when we finally showed up, 15 hours later than we had planned.

The staff was good. The car was great but I do not think I will use them again.I am not sure why I was charge an extra $35 over the price $75 I prepaid for two days at $25/day. I did not notice it was a "shuttle" service to pick up the car and it took a while to find the pick up spot. No fun since they did not answer phone.

the first rental car I had shut off when I was driving down a hill. After feeling like the car was dangerous I went to exchange cars at the rental agency. I was treated with disrespect and without any apologies from this less than ideal situation.

Pretty poor pickup/customer serviceThe car was clean/in good condition. The price was reasonable.The woman at the front desk was exceptionally rude and unprofessional. On her cell phone throughout the conversation. She made me get out of line after waiting about 45 minutes to be helped, because the fraud detection fired on my card and it declined. I was on the phone with chase and had it remedied in less that 5 minutes, but had to wait an additional 15-20 minutes to get back in line and be helped. My boyfriend offered to put the hold on his card, but they refused and said I would have to ad him as an authorized driver and pay more if we did that. All and all I’d say find a different place. I wouldn’t use them again, even though the car was fine. I was seeing red leaving here.

The associate was very helpful in explaining everything.This was my first time renting a car and it was a mixed experience. The car wasn't very clean when I received it. When I made the reservation with a drop off of 4:30 AM, I wasn't told they would be closed and that I'd just have to leave it outside the gate. Also, I wasn't told about the $200 deposit they take at the counter.

I ended up canceling the reservation the day I was to pick up the car and ended up using another company. The number given in the confirmation email to call once you land for shuttle service to pick up the car was no longer in service so I googled for a different number. That brought you to an automatic messaging instructing you to call the same number to arrange airport pick up. After about an hour of waiting unsure of whether or not any shuttle was coming I received a text saying someone would be by in about another hour to pick us up. By that point i had already canceled the reservation and booked with Avis and picked the car up at the airport, no shuttle necessary.

The van was not a newer van it had 73k miles and the tires were scalloped so at highway speeds we were in a cement shaker. We called about 45 mins out for a trade and they declined to meet us. Anytime we called for pickup it required multiple attempts to reach someone and even though we gave an hour notice when we were returning the attendant was not at the office and we waited 10 mins for him because he did not receive the Multiple calls of our arrival It was useable van but a mediocre experience on all fronts but it was cheaper by $100 I would get a nicer van and pay the $100 more

Need signage out front for AVR, signage needed on Shuttle Van, instructions clearly stating need to call Airport for Shuttle pick-up on confitmation email.

Charged TwiceGreat CarI was charged twice for my rental car and was not offered any help. I showed the woman helping me when i was picking up the car that I had been charged twice, yet she assured me that one of the charges would disappear. The charge never dropped and it took away all of the money I had for my weekend. I called back the next day to ask if they can help, and they said it was up to me to fix it and I had to call my bank to figure it out.

FIREFLY CLOSED EARLYWe were not given a chance to use them.Our flight arrived at 1:15AM and Firefly's hours were until 2:00 AM. They decided to close early and left many families stranded at the airport. We ended up using Budget and paying more because we did not have a reservation. When we called Firefly, the number did not lead to the SLC location and the person kept telling us on the phone that they should be there and that they were on a break. We waited more than 10 minutes. Budget told us they left for the day/eve. Bad service. Don't use them unless you're sure they will be open.
