Cons: Only 2 parking spots by office. Gate employee was annoyed when I couldn't produce inspection form- he was more annoyed when he saw it in the cup holder! How am I to know what a veh insp form is??? Had to find a creepy swing gate in back fence to get to where my truck was parked. Gate guy and desk guy fist bumped and talked sports at desk- didn't seem very professional (they were both 25 y/o African American, I am 55 y/o Christian/ Anglo/ Veteran) ...awkward.

Rip Off Second Driver
Pros: The bus shuttle drivers.
Cons: We were NOT told that the second driver cost $74 extra for 6 days. When I returned the vehicle, I listened to others who were starting their rental transactions and they were NOT told of the fee. I told the other renters to watch out when I was in line. The staff apologized for "forgetting" to mention it to them but not happy. Staff does not know how to recognize a customer waiting in line. Do they even know or care I'm there?
I unfortunately didn't look at my contract when I signed it as I trusted Kayak. My bad though but I am not happy. We never used the other driver as I added one just to be "safe" so I wouldn't invalidate my contract just in case I needed the second driver. The vehicle was fine but the staff from the people who inspected the cars to the rental staff acted like sophomoric high school boys being unsupervised. The shuttle drivers on the other hand were kind and helpful.

Not overly impressed
Pros: I was provided a Toyota Camry, which was convenient since our family drives a similar upgraded model at home.
Cons: The car had 32K miles, bald tires undetected for the first 4 days and damaged front grill from prior drivers running into parking curbs (I had to snap loose parts back in place prior to leaving the lot on day 1). Camry's have little front end clearance and should always be backed into parking locations to prevent this problem. As with most other car rental companies, Advantage attaches all car keys to a heavy cable for the Rental company convenience - not the customer. They keys must be detachable to permit at least one key to remain with the customer comfortably. Suggest revising this process and make the customer responsible for any lost keys. Use Advantage Again- Humm????

Missinformation from employees lead to disaster.
Pros: Car was comfortable to drive.
Cons: I called the night before my drop off to make sure there would be a shuttle available early in the morning. I was planning on dropping off at 5:30am. I was told that not only would there not be a shuttle but that the location would not be open until 6am and I could not return until that time which would make me miss my flight. I ended up having to change my flight to a later time which cost $150. When I went to return the car at 6am I saw that they were open at 5am for drop offs. I will never use Advantage again.

Pros: Access to a bathroom at the pickup location.
Found my charger/cell phone dock before i left them.
Cons: 1)Pickup van took 45 minutes to get to the airpiort on arrival.
2) We called 10 minutes before we returned to have them keep the van since we were running late. The guy on the phone said the van was there. The van left right as we pulled in, the driver just looking at us as we frantically waived her down.
3) On arrival the clerk told us the fuel prebuy would be prorated if we brought back the tank at half.
4) The person checking the car at the beginning and end had zero experience at costumer service, bordering on rudeness.
5) The car was 4,000 miles past service when we discovered the warning on our 3rd day.
6) The clerk was visibly annoyed when I kept asking what the items I was initializing were about.
7) Was given an SUV upgrade which was ok, but really wanted a more economic car.
Please pay the couple of dollars extra and go with a good rental company, namely any but this one. You have been warned. We expect better of Kayak, they should remove this company from their list of recommended companies.
Cons: The staff at the Love Field Hertz branch are rude and disrespectful. I generally rent from Enterprise, but went with cheaper price this time. You get what you pay for. Needless to say I am dissapointed with the quality of their customer service.

Cons: When we arrived at the San Antonio airport, I was told our rental was not at the airport but at another site. My fault for missing that detail. The Hertz agent at the airport said it would cost 4x more to rent at the airport. We decided to take a taxi to the site. Much to our surprise, the agent gave us an outdated map with address of the location. They had moved so we went to the wrong address and finally called to get the right address $40 later. Disappointing way to start our vacation. We were hit with extra costs that were not explained clearly. Not a good deal. Don't plan to go with Hertz again!

Pros: Renting the car went very smooth. First I confirmed the car online the type of car, where we'll pick it up & drop off. The price, and any other things I wanted. This was easy fairly fast I got a confirmation #. I went picked up the car was great. Went easy, fairly fast & I was on my way. I had to extend the rental for a day that was easy & dropping it off was also easy. So the whole experience was very good. I would rent a car this way again.
Cons: Don't have any big complaint the only thing I didn't like was trying to find the place was confusing. They have a big sign that says "return rentals" yet it is also where you go in the office to rent the cars. We drove around for 10-15 min when he finally asked someone & we found out it was the entrance too.
Pros: The staff was very helpful. I missed my reservation and they got me in a car immediately anyway. When I returned it, I forgot to fill my gas, but they let me out to refill it nearby, no problem. Also, when I finally did return it, they ran through the rain and handled all of the paperwork for me, quickly. I was very pleased!
Cons: The location is not exactly close by the terminal, but the free shuttle gets you back and forth fairly quickly.

Pros: The service and vehicle were great.
Cons: My only reservation was their opening time. I had a 6 am flight and they don't open until 5 am. Myself and at least 7 other customers were waiting for them to open in order to not miss our flights. However, the checkout and shuttle service was fast. Just a little too close for comfort, that's all.

Pros: Comfortable with good visibility. Nice backup camera and a powerful engine for towing.
Cons: The low tire pressure light came on early in the trip. I stopped and checked the tires and put air in the right front tire. I checked the tires a couple more times and the tires seemed to be holding air, however, I could never get the low tire pressure light to reset. Also, they washed the car before I picked it up, but they did not replace the antenna, so I had no radio for 8 days.

Pros: The car was readily available when we checked in.
Cons: When we got the car, the car hadn't been washed or vacuum or wiped inside. We also found a broken piece of glass on the front passenger side. Because we were in a hurry, we ended up just dealing with.
Pros: Met our needs 100% and we even got a refund because we turned it in early. The car was clean, reliably well maintained and comfortable.

Alamo office closed at night, not 24/7
Pros: There were 7 people in line ahead of us for 1 customer service person, and he managed to process all of us very efficiently. However, he was a National customer service agent handling Alamo reservations.
Cons: We arrived late due to a delayed flight. The Alamo office, which is supposed to be 24/7, was closed and its reservations were being handled by the National office. 3 rental companies total were being handled by the 1 person in the National office, so the line was really long.

Better than we could have expected
Pros: We were treated with humor, courtesy, and quickness at the desk, walked out to the car, got an apology that our base model wasn't on the lot, and the choice of any car in the row as an immediate upgrade. Return was also super smooth.
Only complaint, and it's a small one. I still use paper maps, and there are much better free maps available for the city than the little one they were handing out at the service desk.

Pros: This WAS SOOO SIMPLE!!! Online set up. Clear directions to the rental area. We checked in at the Airport itself. Greeted immediately... joked with after a minute. Such a pleasant counter experience!! Don't remember the names.. it was 09/08/16 between 03:30 pm -4pm
The shuttle to the barn... comfortable and driver was very pleasant.
Car rental staff there were polite, but draining.. it was HOT, but they smiled thru! Car was wonderfully cleaned.
RETURN @ 04:30am-- Upbeat people checked the car and driver was EXCELLENT!!!

Too many hidden fees
Cons: Pick up was very much a hassle. I already made a reservation online with all my information, but when I came to pick up my rental I was asked all the same questions again. Why?
Then they charged me $200 for using my debit card, on top of all the other hidden fees, the total amount was double what the rental was suppose to be.

Cons: Car was hail damaged, back seat was dirty, carpets needed vacuuming, floor mats were missing. I was given a letter at the gate which apologized for the hail damage but their clerk was insisting that I take damage coverage in spite of the car being in such poor condition. When I returned it no one was there, Avis took posession of the car and their clerk had nothing but bad things to say about payless employees.

Timeliness And Cleanliness
Pros: The close proximity of the rental car pick up/drop off to the airport and major highway.
Cons: it took more than 20 minutes for customers in front of me to receive their vehicle. The agent was very courteous but, not sure why it was so hard to locate a vehicle to rent. Aren't vehicles readily available for customers? And the same happened for me but it only took about 10 minutes. The vehicle I did receive was clean inside and out with the exception of the all the stains on the back and front seats. If I had been traveling with my family I would have demanded another vehicle.

Car Rental Experience
Pros: The car was great, it was better than expected. Drop-off process was quick and easy.
Cons: I chose the rental organization based on the kind of car I wanted. I had specific needs. I worked with two of them and neither company had the car available they pictured in the ad. When I say not available I mean they didn't even offer the car pictured. I spent 4 hours trying to get the right car. That's way too long.

Pros: Check out was a breeze.
Cons: Check in took almost 25 minutes, and there were only two people in front of me. Did not help that only one person was at the counter, nor that the folks in front of me seemed to want to change every thing in their car rental contract. Not fun.
Cons: They didn't have the car I reserved and substituted it with a Van.
I found that the rental was not at the airport and ended up charging me twice as much. It went from $42 to $89 per day.

Overall poor visit
Cons: Signed up for a Rav 4 Toyota size vehicle for our two person trip but Enterprise did not have one. (We wanted the Rav 4 since I am thinking about buying one with my next auto purchase.) They substituted a larger SUV, Kia Sorrento which was much too big for two people. The car was not ready and the salesperson said it would take 10 minutes to vacuum the car. I waited and when the car was given to me it was dirty. I asked about why the car wasn't washed, he said I could wait longer. We also disputed about the negociated price including insurance cost. I drove the car and then returned it for a (hopefully) full refund, and then drove my own car.

Read before you initial....
Pros: Picking up my rental car was easy.
Cons: When the representative asked if I wanted to accept the Damage Waiver I told him that I did not. However, he was quick to have me initial my rental agreement and did not offer me any explanation. When returning the rental I was charged approx. $40.00 more then what I booked my reservation through Kayak for. I was still charged for the Damage Waiver because unbeknownst to me I had initialed that I had accepted it. Are you that desperate to make money when renting your vehicles that you would be this deceitful! I will take my business elsewhere if I ever need to rent a vehicle again!
Cons: The vehicle was not clean and smelled like cigarette smoke. The man behind the counter charged me $66 for prepay fuel but told me if the vehicle was brought back full then the $66 would be refunded. The vehicle was brought back full and acknowledged by the person checking in vehicles outside. It has been 8 days since I dropped the vehicle off and the $66 has not yet been refunded. I complained to Avis and they are communicating with me regarding this issue.

Pros: Nothing at all.
Cons: Air bag cover was ripped, vehicle broke down. Called Avis to report it and was told someone was on the way. One hour and twenty minutes later they arrived. In the mean time, this caused the rental contract to be late. They charged me a late fee on top of another insurance fee. The counter representative lied and gave me a phone number to call. The customer represenative actual told me (It is not our fault the vehicle broke down, so why should Avis be respondsible for it). I have never been treat like this and will be taking my personal and professional business to another rental company.

Pros: Pickup was very easy. The car was waiting and paperwork/price was as advertised
Pros: The manager resolved my issues with them not having a car for me on the lot as best he could. He was courteous and professional and the staff was friendly despite having irate customers. That made the whole experience a reason I would use them again.
Cons: I pre-booked a compact SUV and when I arrived, but after I did the paperwork and paid/put down deposit, was told the only vehicle on the entire lot was a mini-van. That was my only option otherwise I'd have to return the following day to get the car type I reserved. Apparently this is a common problem.
