The people were really nice and helpful. The room was perfect if you want to stay a couple of days. The food was delicious and is just 10 meters from the bus station.
They had a common area that had good muffins and the women receptionist was extremely nice.
Common room table was always dirty. When you showered you had to hold down a button and unless you were holding down a button water would not come out. People were crazy noisy In the middle of the night. The only person who gets a plug is the bottom bunk. The top two bunks if they move at all the shakes the bunk bed like crazy which will easily wake you up. At one point on of the male receptionist gave us sass.
Location is pretty nice! 3 to 4 underground stations to the centre.
Probably the worst breakfast variety I've ever seen. Go to TESCO Express (supermarket) which is 4 min away on foot and grab better food.
The staff are very welcoming, nice and very helpful. When I checked in without me asking they gave me informations about the lockers that they provide for their guests to leave their luggages after check out. The lockers are very big and cheap. They are only 3 pounds which comes very handy when you need to take a late train or plane.
They should have internet access in the rooms because guests have to go to certain areas to be connected and when you are travelling with children it is not easy to do so. Plus the signs of locations of the toilets are quite confusing because it shows only showers rooms. My son was so confused that he had to go to the reception's desk to ask for their exact locations.
Nothing. My booking was got wrong. They gave a bunk bed instead of a kingsiz and the service was terrible. The actual place looks like a hospital instead
The Rest Up London Hostel is known as one of the best and gauging from its outward appearance that would be easy to believe. The charming, brick front building with its terrace garden and wonderful location on the New Kent Road makes it an appealing spot. Just a short walk to Elephant & Castle tube station and 15 miles to Heathrow Airport, it is also just a mile from sites like the Tower of London, Parliament and Big Ben, Trafalgar Square and Piccadilly Circus. It is within the same area as the Imperial War Museum and London South Bank University, as well.
A pre-WWI baroque building, it is a historic property and has been a hostel for more than 100 years. It features such amenities as a shared TV room, a beautiful terrace with covered tables and fun bean bag chairs. It has an onsite coffee shop and snack bar, there is free Wi-Fi in the public areas, a ticketing and tour desk, baggage storage option, laundry services (for a fee) and even some business services. Visitors can enjoy traditional breakfast each morning, pizza at night and healthier fare in the restaurant. They also offer group menus.
The rooms include shared dorm rooms with options for four to a room or twenty beds in a dorm-style setting. The rooms are mixed gender, but there is a single four-bed female dorm. There are also twin and double rooms, and some even offer private baths at no cost.
If an affordable and high-quality accommodation is the goal, but also one in one of the best spots in London, it will be hard to beat what the Rest Up London Hostel makes available to travelers of all kinds.
