Have been renting with Avis several times at MSY. Waiting 20 to 30 minutes in the heat and humidity as a Preferred member was just unacceptable. They just do not seem organized or to have enough cars. I switched to National and had a very positive experience. Went to desk to sort paperwork which took a few minutes then went outside to the cars. Picked one and was on my way. Much, much better service experience. I booked a car with GPS and called to confirm that my request was honoured. I was told it was. However when I went to pick up the car I was told there were no vehicles with GPS. I was upgraded to a better vehicle with CarPlay but it was not a good way to start the trip. Also, whenever I’ve rented a vehicle, someone has always checked the car with me and pointed out where various things are. Didn’t happen here.
