It was cheaper than some other hostels.
Almost anything and everything. The room was ant-infested and smelled of mould, the air-conditioner in the (private) room was automatic so you couldn't turn it on or off (not even adjust temperature) and all you were given were these thin comforters which did not even have covers on them and probably were not even washed. Great during a pandemic, eh? If you do not like sleeping with the A/C that is your problem because this is just an establishment like that. They also fixed some cover on the off button of the A/C so you could not turn it off. Basically then you were forced to breathe warm filtrated air from an old A/C that you were not allowed to turn off. The air out of the A/C smelled of all sorts of animals and germs. They also had the weirdest office hours, something like 3 hours in the morning and 2 at night, so nothing helpful you'd expect from a hostel like printing services (could only be done around 9-noon); or if anything at all went wrong there was no one to contact (even during day, say at about 2pm), sometimes even during the three supposedly attended reception hours no one would be there. The photo I've added shows how ant-infested the room was - this was just my toothbrush in its case that was left on the desk. In addition, there was (very loud) construction starting at 8am until midday and sometimes throughout the day inside the property. You also need to pay for wifi (per device connected) as well and it is quite terrible connection.
Plenty of places to eat nearby. A short walk to Hay Street Mall which is pleasant.
I booked a private twin room with bathroom and no bedding or towels were included! You have to pay $5 to hire, and get a $3 refund if you return to reception after your stay. This was not made clear at booking. At comparable hostels this is included as standard with a private room. The whole place is a lot more dingy and run down than the pictures suggest, although clean enough. The 'reception' is basically self check in - I never saw or spoke to a staff member though there was somebody sat in a little glass office to the right as I went in. I think his role is solely to try and sell tourist trips, not to welcome guests. The immediate surrounding area felt a bit seedy and unsafe. Not a welcoming place with good vibes.
Nice hostel in Perth center. We stayed in a double room which was basic, but catered our needs. Good for active people who spend the majority of the day exploring the city.
Limited street parking.
What a rubbish organisation. Someone can sleep on your bed even you already paid for whole week. You called them and they said that’s not their business to look after these things. No apologies for what happened. Very bad experience!
