Pros:
We thought we were renting from the airport location. My mistake, so we took Uber over to the correct place. We were supposed to have a mid-size SUV but when we got there, there was only a Camry and a compact SUV (Ford Escape, I think). We had 5 adults and luggage for skiing, so these were not an option. The staff there was very accommodating and did find a van that was finishing up a repair at a body shop. One of the employees took us to get food during the 45 minutes or so that we waited, so that was nice. I'm not sure the tires on the van were Colorado traction legal. We were traveling from Colorado Springs to Breckenridge. I saw a digital highway sign that Traction Law was in effect, but was not sure what that meant until someone explained later. Made it over the pass near Alma Ok but later that night had to get a push in Breck. Since the law was in effect , the van was required to be 4WD (which it wasn't) or have snow tires, which I don't think it did.Cons:

When I went to go pick up the car, the advisor indicated no cars were available, and there were 15 in the parking lot...all reserved I assumed. I then had to go the airport, and none were available there. Luckily I was able to get a car from National at the airport. I wasted an hour, lost a hundred dollars on the deal, and won't deal with Hertz again. I just wonder if they are the ones always touted but if they don't want to rent because it's a one way or something else, they should have been polite and declined altogether. You can't tell me in this world, that if your terminal is done, that you can't check reservations by calling another Hertz location. I say Nonsense.8.0 Very Good

I had a big issue with Hertz needing a code at first I didn't understand what they needed. But told me because I was using a debit card I HAD to have a discount code. Finally I was able to get one through my employer and all was good. I DO NOT GET WHY YOU NEED A DISCOUNT CODE JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE USING A DEBIT CARD THOUGH.3.2 Poor

Hertz denied my reservation at the counter because they required that I present the same physical credit card used to book the reservation. Kayak only instructed that I must present any credit card in my own name. Hertz said that Kayak gave the wrong instructions and it was not Hertz's fault. I was forced to pay for the rental car a second time on a different credit card for a higher amount. Even though the Hertz agent said that I would not be charged for the original reservation, I was, and I have had to dispute the original charges to get a refund. I won't use Kayak or Hertz again.2.0 Poor

I was in the mountains and b weed something reliable through the snow. Being a car rental in the mountains, you'd think they would rent me a car that was good for that. However, I got a car with bald tires giving me no shot to get through the snow. I couldn't drive my car the entire time I was there because I was stuck in the driveway. When it was finally time for me to leave, I had to be towed out of the snow TWICE. It was miserable and a waste of my money.Easirent
