Cons: - Room is too small, I booked the same room type as my friend (even pay higher rate), but my room is a lot smaller than others. I booked double room type-high floor and got room 1016. Pros: The room is quite larger than any other standard rooms we have been in Japan. Its also located in Tanukikoji 5 which is a popular souvenir shopping area in Sapporo. Bus stop going from/to airport is less than 1 minute away. Best is the free access to onsen and lounge which we always used after our all day tours.
Cons: The small bath room size is my typical complaint in all Japan hotels; but it is expected.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: It’s convenient to everything and transportation is near; shopping is just all over and Tanukikoji is just at the back of the hotel. Location is excellent!
Cons: They didn’t change my bedsheets for 5 nights!?!? ☹️ I recognise the same stain at the same place for 5 nights. Not sure if I hv to tell them to change then only actions taken.

Pros: Staff. And location.
Cons: 1. The Corner Deluxe Room - which should be one of the higher grade rooms - is still on the small side, as well as, tired looking. The hotel should consider renovating at least some of their rooms to offer larger room options with new fittings. 2. Breakfast - the buffet breakfast food choices and quality are at best mediocre.

After all the luggages were put on the taxi, we just found it was the wrong one and have to move to another taxi.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Perfect location for a 3 night stay in Sapporo! Rooms are definitely more spacious than others in Japan (especially vs Tokyo) - location was super central, close to the Odori subway station with most restaurants, cafes and bars within the Odori Park and Suskino region only a 5-10 minute walk away. Staff were great and attentive too and assisted us in making bookings in good restaurants! (not tourist trap ones!)

8.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the cafe and vibe of the lobby. Room was small but sufficient and very clean. Short distance from station and very convenient.
Cons: The shower water was not nearly hot enough. The light automatically came on when i went to the bathroom and would blind me during mid-night trips. Needed to ask for a second pillow.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Cafe on the ground floor was convenient. Staff speaks Chinese and English Nice clean room
Cons: No bath No free tea/coffee bags
9.0 Excellent
Pros: It was more than a "Comfortable" hostel to stay. I hoped to stay 1 or 2 more nights, I would stay here again when I have chance to visit Sapporo again. - The room is clean enough. Air-conditioning worked well. I also loved the atmosphere of man-made/handy-craft here. There was almost no noise when slowly closing the slide door of the room. - Staff here was very kind and they understand the feelings of the those from outside of Hokkaido. - Amenities at the shower & hand washing space is very well prepared. Both shampoo & conditioner was the one sold from DHC brand. Clothes are also prepared without charge. So no need to bring towels, night clothes, shampoos etc. - Security & privacy can be kept well. The each floor is locked and only the guests can enter. Each bed is equipped with curtain and lockable storage to put handy-sized goods. - Individual shower booth was nice,, it was well maintained. - Location is very convenient to walk around Sapporo & easy to find as well. Just within 3~5 mins walk from the Kikusui metro station of Tozai line. Odori-park is just within 4mins by metro. It is just within 13mins from Shin-Sapporo station, and 9mins from Sapporo station. I recommend going from Shin-Sapporo rather than Sapporo if you go from New Chitose Airport. - The grocery store "MaxValu" and the convenience store is within 1~3mins walk, on the way to Kikusui station. - The neighbourhood was quiet residential area, and the riverside is close.
Cons: Nearly none, but several little points I felt. - Some of you may feel the individual dorm bed space is narrow. The number of hungers are just 2, but it was not enough to hang clothes in cold season. - In the room, there are no garbage box, we have to bring to the lounge area. - The dorm rooms are divided into "Mixed" & "Female", but it is better to have "Male" one, then we can stay more comfortably each other & with less stress, without caring too much for the other gender. - The pricing is high, considering this is without breakfast. I know the market price of hostels/hotels at Sapporo, and the services & facilities exceeded my expectations, but I felt over JPY 7000 was expensive. - The front keeps luggage before check-in and check-out without charge, but it was opened space rather than the closed room or inside the front. It's better to be covered by net I guess.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very near to parking and the Family Mart just opposite. Love the cafe very much. Will come back again!!

9.2 Excellent
Pros: The staffa were very kind and helpful. Very good hotel.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: We have a family member who got sick during the stay. The English speaking staff has been very helpful and helped us to get thermometers, get the right meals and explained to us where to find medical help etc. She also followed up with us from time to time. In addition to the above, the facilities are excellent. They have a lounge that is very comfortable and with a great view. The lounge has a corner with desks so that you can do a bit of work there. The lounge also has a high-end hifi system that plays very nice music.

8.0 Excellent
Pros: The room is spacious enough , the breakfast was good.
Cons: - We stayed for 4 nights. The hotel did not provide any complimentary mineral water every day to the guest in the room. We arrived the hotel quite late at night after a long trip from our country and needed something to drink. Luckily after we asking, the front office staff kindly brought 2 complimentary mineral water for us at that night. For such a room price I think the hotel should be serving complimentary mineral waters for the guest at the room every day during their stay. - No special new year eve event at the hotel, in fact the room rate we paid was quite expensive during that period. Quite disappointed as we used to stay at this hotel every year ( seems that the room price increasing )

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great room size, great onsen, great dinner and breakfast. The Jozankei illumination event is very near the hotel. Overall, I really recommended this place and surely stay here again if I have a chance to return to Jozankei onsen.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Place was excellent, room that I stayed in was great with a beautiful view of the scenery of Jozankei. Main attraction was the onsen baths, enjoyed those very much. Great dinner and breakfast, service was good. Took the shuttle bus to and from Sapporo station which was really good to avoid the hassle of trying to find your own way there, although it took a bit of time trying to find the bus. Had to go to where the buses are parked to find the right one going to Hanamomiji.
Cons: Lounge smelled of smoke even though it was a no smoking area, but I didn't stay long there anyway.
7.5 Good
Pros: Strangely, reservation on booking.com was different. I booked "smoking" room, because I couldn't find "no smoking" option, but actually I have got it when I arrived. I was happy
Cons: I sent two emails to the staff before my arrival, but no response. One email about free shuttle bus, and when I asked in person, I was told that I need to book in advance and there is no way to get in. From another side, how can I book in advance if there is no response?
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Booked half board. Great Japanese dining experience. Delicious seasonal local food.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything!!!!! Simple everything is great!! From Kaiseki dinner to public and private onsen. We had a great stay. An excellent place for any traveller who wants to visit Jozankei.
Cons: There was nothing I couldn’t like. Everything was done perfectly and nicely. However as a suggestion, I would advise the guests to book the private baths well in advance as they get fully booked quickly.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: My favorite hotel for the whole trip. Good location, very very beautiful hotel, huge rooms, tasty food. A lot of activities at night. Regret that i just stay for 1 night!
Cons: This hotel has 2 onsens, both are small and not impressive. But you could walk 10 mins and use another hotel's onsen. That onsen was very good.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Other very good
Cons: Bed bad

7.9 Good
Pros: Room is comfortable
Cons: Location a bit far from Sapporo station
7.0 Good
Pros: Location and facilities
8.2 Excellent
Pros: Overall, this was a very nice stay. Reasonably-sized rooms for Japan, pleasant staff, and overall a good value. Being across the street from the Sapporo Factory mall with lots of good dining and shopping options makes up for the fact that it's not very close to downtown (plus there is literally ALWAYS a taxi immediately available). Breakfast, while not included, was still a good deal with their coupon.
Cons: It was farther from the city center than I would have liked, and I would have liked in-room coffee and not only green tea, but that is pretty minor. Our mini-fridge did not work but we managed.
5.8 Okay
Pros: Clean room
Cons: No good food places nearby
8.3 Excellent
Pros: best breakfast in my trip
Cons: the corridor has smoking smell
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Everything was clean and the room was comfortable. I liked how I was able to open the window when the room got too hot. It's in a nice location with a mall across the street and some convience stores near by. It's also that far from the station either.
Cons: You can definitely tell it's an older building, but that could be a good thing for some people.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: good service mild staff (they provide wheelchair for my mom at night time)
Sapporo Excel Hotel Tokyu - Sapporo - Building

Featured amenities include complimentary wired Internet access, a computer station, and dry cleaning/laundry services. A train station pick-up service is provided at no charge, and self parking (subject to charges) is available onsite.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: Beds were very comfortable.
Cons: Hotel a good 15-20 min taxi ride. No restaurants anywhere near hotel, just Lawsons 7/11, etc. Hotel very dated, I expected Hercule Poirot to step out of the lift. Bathroom in need of renovation. Up to date Japanese bathrooms now have shower next to tub instead of over tub as many foreigners now do not like climbing in to a bathtub. Also, the price for breakfast was more for hotel staying guests than the price for the public coming in the street. This was discrimination for the guests.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: There is a multi usb charger beside the bed
7.1 Good
Pros: Near by subway station
Cons: There’s not onsen.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: The room was big and bed and pillows were comfortable. The shuttle bus to the JR station was a plus point for us as we do not need to lug our luggage across the snow to the nearest train station. The staff were very helpful as well.
Cons: We liked everything

Pros: Good breakfast,nice location,warm staff
6.0 Good
Pros: Very central location, with downtown attractions within walking distance; friendly staff (except the one at the restaurant); very quick response when I reported some issue with power plugs; quiet and clean space.
Cons: We were staying through New Year's Eve, and we tried to reserve a place for dinner on New Year's Eve as soon as we checked in. Concierge could not really understand what we were trying to do, so we went to the restaurant direct. One staff at the ground floor cafe told us that the restaurant was fully booked. On New Year's Eve as we returned from dinner outside, we could see through the windows that the restaurant was 70% empty! Not sure what was this all about...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, lovely classic luxury hotel
6.8 Good
Pros: Good location. Rooms were ok but felt like it could do with an upgrade.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Hotel is very conveniently located , close to shopping mall, restaurants and a short distance underground walk from the JR train from the airport , there is a bus stop for Niseko bus, outside the hotel. Staff were excellent and helpful, rooms were a little small but that is the norm in Japan, a bit old ... Otherwise we had a great stay
Cons: The light on the bed head for USB plugs were annoying as the room is dark except for those.
9.0 Excellent
Pros: Good location
Cons: Nothing
8.0 Excellent
Pros: I liked all the paraphernalia that available in the room. Absolutely everything a guest would need was available. The bed was comfortable.
Cons: Nevertheless, the room was not spacious. it felt a bit forced to have all the furniture but as a result cramped up in the room. I did not like that the only English program TV channel available was CNN.
9.6 Excellent
Pros: Location was perfect. Connected directly to underground walkway to subway stations. Easy walk to restaurants and shopping. Room was comfortable and large enough for three of us. Service was friendly and polite.
Cons: Only one bottled water per guest per day. Extras are chargeable. Gym access is chargeable too.
9.7 Excellent
Pros: It's located in the heart of Sapporo, it's easy to get around from the location. The room came included with nice robes and slippers. If you can book with the meals I would highly recommend it. There's three excellent brunch spots to choose from with 2 being buffets.
Cons: It was probably because I was staying during the Sapporo Snow Festival that it costs more than $300 a night but it was still too rich for my blood.
7.1 Good
Pros: Good location that was walking distance to many tourist sites, restaurants, and transportation. It had several comprehensive breakfast buffets. Lots of bathroom samples and extras.
Cons: The room itself was clean but felt a bit outdated and worn, especially the bathroom, as did the hallway. Room seemed larger in photo.
7.0 Good
Pros: Good Location Really big hotel Very comfortable bed!
Cons: My room size was quite small
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Location is excellent, centrally located to most everything in Sapporo. Staff provided good service. There is luggage storage if you arrive before 15:00 (note that early check-in is not possible).
Cons: Mattress was too firm for me. Room smelled of cigarette smoke even though it was in a non-smoking floor.

9.0 Excellent
Pros: Room was very spacious. We had a 4 beds room with living area. It was very close to the station, too.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location and worth the money. The welcome lady is very helpful (cannot remember the name) and polite. The check-in and check-out process is fast.
Cons: There was one night that hotel staff knocked on my door and asked whether I’d been smoked since the neighbor was complaint about strong smoking smell. He also asked whether my husband was a smoker. I told him that my husband was with my son and, of course, I opened the room for him. This was to show that there was no one smoking in the room. Besides, he also wondered that we had a party. I walked with him down the hallway and told that the strong smoking smell was from far side. I accepted his apology. However, after well thought, I should complain about this since hotel staff has my profile. It was a family trip with 3 people. Why didn’t you knock on the other rooms with pack of tourists travelled together? Or survey for the smoking smell through the floor before knocking on my door. I consider this as impoliteness and not sure that I will go back to the hotel.
7.1 Good
Pros: Bath facilities
Cons: Suggest to provide clear price list of the charged items in the mini bar!
7.4 Good
Pros: The room was a nice size and very clean. Staff was very friendly. Very close to train station and easy walk to the ice festival.
Cons: Beds are very hard, charge extra to use the pool & exercise room. For the price breakfast should have been included.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Most things. Single room, as you would expect, was small. Great bed and bathroom.
Cons: Western breakfasts are often a challenge for the non-westerner. Bacon and sausages lukewarm. Japanese breakfast items really good. Location is OK, but snow and ice make it a bit of a treck to transport options. Being from the tropics, negotiating very cold conditions may. E fun, but it’s tiring having to constantly watch you step. I was surprised that in a hotel of this level, very few staff, apart from the front desk, spoke any English. I asked a question of the concierge and she just looked at me blankly. Likewise the woman arranging baggage transfer to my next port of call. We managed to sort things out and to be fair, there did not appear to be many English speaking guests ie most people were Asian. That all sounds a bit whiney, but I had a good stay and felt no need to complain about things that are as they are. Everyone was professional and the hotel seemed to be very well run.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Near to JR station
Cons: Nice , foods have many choice

Pros: The breakfast buffet had everythiny imaginable available and was outstanding. The hotel is located with undergorund access to Sapporo station and a huge underground shopping complex. Our room, though very expensive, was perfect in every way with outstanding panaromic views of the city scape and mountains in the distance.
Cons: Can't think of anything we didn't like.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Typical Japanese rooms that's about 10 years past its prime, but still holding on nicely. Location is superb, great service, larger than average hotel, huge lobby. Overall a good choice.
Cons: Tired decor.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: We discovered this hotel during our 1st visit to Sapporo 4 years back.
Cons: Some rooms need upgrade. Our room on 16 floor had been in very good condition and we would request room on the same floor.
6.0 Good
Pros: location is very good. The service at the 19th floor Japanese restaurant and food is very good. But could have more variety.
Cons: The furnitures are old and no place to hang clothings. Front Desk staff is also not very informed both surrounding areas and even where is he nearest stop to take a airport limousine to the Airport. Hot water also keeps getting hot and cold as one showers. Service at the Buffet restaurant is very bad. Manager just walk around without clearing plates. Customer has to clear their own plate. The staff are not helpful too. This cannot have being a 3rd best buffet restaurant in Japan!
9.2 Excellent

9.2 Excellent
Pros: Close to 大通公園駅 underground station, easy access to JR railways. The room is not big as it is in most Japanese hotels but adequate for me.
8.0 Excellent

Cons: Room a bit small
7.0 Good
Pros: Quite a walk from the JR Sapporo station, please use the underground pass when you arrive. The Clock Tower is on the street behind the hotel, there are a Starbucks, a few restaurants and a Family mart nearby. Walking distance to Sapporo TV Tower. Breakfast was good.
Cons: The bed was too small for two people. I would not have booked this room type if I knew it was this small. Water came out from the toilet showerlet was cold (all the other hotels I have stayed have it warm). Hotel staff appearred cold and not attentive (below average Japanese level in my opinion). Laundry room management could have been better. Only two washers and NO dryer. Drying functions are integrated in the washer so each person will take at least 80 minutes to wash. Laundry room was too small and there was not proper queue management (some guests got frustrated with the long wait and improper queueing).
9.2 Excellent
Pros: Walking distance to Sapporo station, to the metro, to Odori Park, to everything else that the city centre can offer.
9.2 Excellent
Pros: The hotel had a great laundry and the facilities were clean. Staff was helpful and polite. Room and bed were a bit too small for a couple and there was no space to open our luggage. The highlight was the breakfast. Great value!
Cons: Room and bed size
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The location is convenient and the room is clean and comfort. Many eating place nearby the hotel. For other travellers, if you go to the hotel by underground shopping alley, then I advise you to exit 5 I/o 7, because exit 5 has a elevator, it is better for those who carry a big luggage like me.
Cons: They did not provide shower cap.
9.1 Excellent
Pros: Perfectly located and priced
Cons: Small room.
