Very comfortable and clean hotel!
Very clean, comfortable and spacious! Great location
The toilet paper was only double ply and was a little rough on the cheeks
Passable
When checking in, the staff were not very helpful. They attempted to make up for it. The overall experience for an executive suite was very disappointing. I hope they will get proper training and be professional in their role instead of an beginner saying I will try my best to do what is ethical and correct. It is quite upsetting that the marketing message is not adding up to the real experience. Hopefully they will adjust the message and make expectations and prices fit the real experience including giving more discounts and added value
Thank to the hotel staff to be so kindly this difficult period of coronavirus

Very good loation
Location very good
This hotel locate in good location and so convenience to go other places both via subway and taxi and Staff can speak english well.
Location is very good though.
Breakfast was very poor. I was at the 10th Floor and I could use the Executive launge. Everyday there was the same food. The selection was very poor. Only two types of fruit. Bread toast were frozen. One day I went downstairs (2nd floor) and it was even worst: No fruits, only Chinese selection of food. Nobody could tell me how and where to go to use the swiming pool.
It is just opposite to the Nanjing road, so close to a lot of eateries and shops. The breakfast had a lot of variety. The beds were extremely comfortable. Will be recommending this hotel :)
staff was so Rude
Very good location. Hotel staffs especially front desk are very gentle, warm and polite.
Room is a little old. We'd like more different kind of breakfast menu.
Staff of exclusive lounge were so rude!!!! I don’t think this is an option of hotel.
Location
Not included breakfast.
need more variety at breakfast especially fresh fruits.
more western variety needed at breakfast.
Exclent location.
Carpet is extremely dirty. Please change or clean carpets. Front desk and concierge, poor English.
Service and location
No much negative
I like the fact that I didn’t have to use my room key just to use the elevator. It drives me nuts when I have to use my room key just to get to my room.
There was a big conference in Shanghai and the room rate was increased significantly.
The room is very dark and shower room not very clean. The restaurant dinner buffer foods quality is very disappointing as a 4 star hotel. Overall experience is not very pleasant.
Great location, the location is right in the middle of the tourist area, near shops, mall and restaurants. 15 minute walk to the Bund area. King sized executive room, comfortable beds and lovely bed linens. Bathroom with bathtub, with a shower and separate walk in shower with overhead rain shower head. Great towels and bath mats and lots of small toiletry items. Turn down service in the evening also included a small plate of fruit for the morning.
We discovered we had no hot water at 7:30 pm so my husband decided just to go ahead and have a lukewarm shower since we were leaving to go for dinner. However when we returned to the hotel at 9:30 there was still no hot water. The front desk responded immediately and sent some one up from maintenance to repair it. Sliding doors in the bathroom were difficult to open and close. Room had device for boiling water and supplied instant coffee powder, most Americans would prefer a true coffee maker.
Location was excellent!
First of the hotel tried to pass off a bad room as an upgrade & when we turned down they said , the room we had booked earlier was unfortunately full. When we said we would rather cancel our booking only then they made our selected room available. Under guise of ‘green hotel’ they charged for everything but rampantly used plastic. Complimentary water bottles in room were less. Charges for extra bottles was exorbitant. Food of the restaurant was the worst meat we had in Shanghai, even our flight meal was better. Most unfriendly staff. Need to smile little more!
Very comfortable, location central of Shanghai city, staff helpful
Fabulous location near the busy “walking street”, the Bund and lots of restaurants. We were pleasantly surprised when they upgraded us from an executive king room to a executive suite, which came with a free happy hour and small breakfast buffet. Room was super plush, quiet and had tons of amenities. Lots of door men and people to help at the concierge station. Breakfast downstairs was great, lots of choices and we were seated quickly and there were lots of staff to clean up tables and restock the food. No complaints at all and would recommend this hotel to everyone.
The happy hour advertised wine but when we got there they told us there was none available.
Location, location, location ! Close to Nanjing Road but not affected by the noise. OK breakfast buffet, good coffee. The hotel shows some slight wear and tear but perfectly acceptable. I would surely recommend this place to my family and friends.
I was surprised how little bilingualism there was in such a touristy part of Shanghai. Not as clean or orderly as Tokyo.
The location was amazing and the staff very helpful and welcoming
The executive lounge was poor by international standards in terms of drinks and food offerings at happy hour
A.) Accessibility to subway. It was a short walk. Took subway from airport to hotel. Direct to exit: Jiaxing Rd. Couldn’t ask for a more central locale. Great savings! B.) Near shopping plaza and great eateries. A block away from hotel. C.) Great Staff! They were very helpful all around. Was able to leave my large suitcase with concierge, while I traveled to surrounding areas, unencumbered by a large suitcase. Very important, if one intends to do train travel in China. Purchased a small 24 inch travel case at shopping plaza on sale for $70, at nearby plaza. Was and am delighted with suitcase purchase. Lived my stay!
NA!
Wi-fi connection slow and inconstant.
Excellent location with class facilities!
location and facilities
bed could be more soft and comfortable
Thanks to the hotel for the upgrade. I spent the last day in Shanghai in excellent conditions.
Fantastic location and comfortable beds.
The location was perfect. The bed was very comfortable and the room was huge. Very close to Shanghai Metro station, People’s Square. Unfortunately that’s all that was good.
The room smelt like mould and hadn’t been used often. The air conditioner was stale and the carpet was out dated. I paid extra for the business executive suite which included happy hour and breakfast on level 10. The food was very limited and happy hour consisted of bottles of spirits which had not been used in years. The hotel requires a bond (around $1500 RMB) to be left and returned once you check out.
Deluxe room very nice and friendly cleaning staff,
Reception staff a little abrupt, could do with been more polite and cooperative, when questions asked. No coffee or creamer in the room only tea
Perfect location
Heater was not working properly... Ask front desk to fix air conditing but even though they saw, it was not working correctly... So cold night..
Location and cleanliness
Breakfast need to have some fruits
Amount of money kept as security . It is high
Excellent location. Very friendly staff. The business possibilities are very good. Gym is great.
Prices are nor cheap
The location is excellent for Shopping/ metro and the Bund
Very stingy on providing the teas / coffee did not have any coffee just the green tea and tea sachets No spoons
The staff was really helpful
This is a big well equipped hotel in a very good location next to Najing Road and easy walking distance to most of the tourist sites. Sizeable, comfortable room.
problems accessing breakfast one morning as we hadn't booked it and none of serving staff or anyone on reception at that time seemed able to resolve it
The next day after the complain on the charged fees, at least they tried to solve it (cancelled those fees, which apparently were charged bcs of there's error on the computer system).
I had to wait for more than 45 minutes just to check in even though there's no one before me. They put extra charged on the credit card, but unfortunately they don't know what was it for.
Everything
Location
Breackfast, very poor . No fresh fruits
Location perfect. Staff friendly. Clean spacy rooms
Rooms are not bad
Staff are not friendly. The hotel is less suited for international tourists. We were the only westerns at the hotel. Location is good and room is not bad tough. Value for many is overall good.
It is near Bu Xing Jie.
The hotel did not have bathroom slippers.
Good location and Breakfast
Generally, it is well maintained.

It is located in the city centre. Amazing view and can enjoy all the facilities easily
Money exchange rate is low, network is poor, staffs are very weak in English.
did not have
Check in was very impersonal. Cost of lost room key
The room and Hotel was nice.
We gave the concierge the paperwork we had for our flight back to Hong Kong. And several of them actioned getting us a taxi. But 30 minutes into the trip, we seen signs saying that we were going to the wrong airport. We contacted the Hotel immediately, but they were no help. We've sent several emails because the taxi cost several hundred dollars to get us to the correct airport so we could make our flight. Not happy that we have never received communication back from the Hotel.
Great room Great location close to metro and restraunts.
Nothing
We loved the convince of being close to all attractions, the customer service was wonderful. We paid extra for breakfast which was quite alright but can find nicer around the area.
We originally were staying for 2 night and paid for an extra 2 nights making 4 in total. No extra offer was added for loyalty:.
Location, room size
Bad service mind and no good service. Difficult lighting system in room.
The location, the staff who speak English, the cleanness of the room and the hotel in general. The bar and the SPA are great for the price.
Maybe the noice insolation of the hallways, they are very noice in the morning.
Perfect quality to price and location is ideal
Concierge not helpful
Good location for shopping, eating,go to the Bund and anyplace for tourist ,professional manage of system and manage for reception, its very good that they are excellent English language, staf helpful and polite . almost good service , in room so convenience: pillow, bed ,table, bathroom ect . ididnt have breakfast so cant tell. Good location.
Very busy.
Location Cleanliness Facilities Staff can speak good English.
Air con is too warm for me. Temp was set by central control. Cannot adjust from the room. But they can arrange fan instead.
Location was excellent for access to East Nanjing St. and metro.
Room environment controls were in Chinese with no translation and appeared only to be a suggestion as to whether they were in heating or cooling mode. Very difficult to make room comfortable. Food selection for western taste was limited.
Great Hotel in a great location
nothing
The location was excellent, near the famous shopping street
Everything was great

N/A
Nice reception staff, very friendly, hotel located in nice area, few steps ahead the entrance Nanjing walking street, turn left you get to people squire, Turn right walking distance to the Bund, and nearby many attractions too, many restaurants and shops.
Attention: Hotel policy of keeping deposit amounts, especially if you staying for many nights and having more than one room, they block the rooms amount plus more than 50% of the total amount as deposit, even though in their record they see you had stayed many time earlier in the hotel!!
Location
Breakfast & other meals are mostly Chinese, The hotel didn't admit in Arabic culture
Very comfy room and the location is great
Nothing I didn’t like
Nice hotel, nice location
breakfast is terrible
Well maintained, spacious room, various amenities and very close distance to Nan Jing Road
No USB plug
Clean rooms. Quiet hallways. Great location.
Minimal lobby. External entry to front lobby by foot was difficult. Food & beveridge prices high. Bellmen were excellent, helpful.
Location, location, location Great place to stay with good clean facilities
Nothing really
Location, location, location! Also loved my room which was upgraded from Superior double to King for the same price :) Bathroom was beautiful with a separate shower stall and a bathtub with overhead shower. Water pressure was great although it sometimes gets too hot or too cold at times but not too much of an issue. No flooding in the bathroom!! Room temperature can be manually adjusted if needed. Concierge desk was very helpful and made it easy for me to get to the places I wanted to see using the subway.
Breakfast was so-so yet pricey.
restaurant food was really awesome , especially the set lunch really value for money.
the room key access time really lock you out at 12noon sharp. i was 15 mins late to check out due to my brunch at the restaurant . i am a regular hotel guest here, hope not to face this problem on my next visit soon.
Goo location, Nice rooms

Location was great!
The twin beds room is ok but the King size bed room at the corner is a bit wierd and not comfortable for me.
Cleanliness is good.
The staffs attitude at front desk check in counter, named Melody Du , she is impatient and during that moment was only one or two guests included my family members.
Location is good & the room is clean.
This hotel is located near Nanjing Road which is excellent, many tourist attractions nearby.
Staff could have been better at English.
Location, facilities,staff
Staff not really able to converse
The room
The upsell immediately upon entry
Convenient and walking distance to most of the tourist attraction , like The Bund
The breakfast have not much varieties.
My room was clean and in good condition. The heating system was excellent. Location is very central.
Buffet breakfast was very modest in selection and food quality. Brewed coffee was watery, espresso drinks were available but at an extra cost.
Great Location! Close to Shopping street! Near the Bund!
oom Manager at Check in date was terrible no service mind and we use time to check in around 1 hour for only 7 rooms!
Nice and spacious room, great location, clean, good value for money
Aircon in the room didn’t cool properly, i.e. it was too hot. Check-in and -out process quite lengthy
I will visit shanghai and stay there again
The office suite is amazing. The location is perfect. The view is fine. The swimming pool is awesome.
One has to walk around to get entrance.
I absolutely loved my stay at this hotel. I had an amazing room on the 22nd floor with a gorgeous view of the whole city. Very professional staff. I would definitely stay here again.
ALL perfect. Staff, location. very comfortable
WiFi very bad. Breakfast not so international
The room was excelent. Well furnished, spacious, clean... it felt like it was brand new. I got one room with two twin beds, however, the beds were very large, almost the size of a full bed. Bathroom was well equiped, towels were great quality ones, shower was hot and waterpressure strong. As in a traditional Chinese hotel room, there was a water boiler for tea, cups and tea bags. We had lots of quick meeting in the café down at the lobby. Also, a very good service. Not to mention the amazing location where it's at, near East Nanjing metro. International chains have got nothing on Central Hotel. I had a great experience.
It was a bit overpriced, but I understand that it was due to the CIIE, which was going on during our visit.
Location.
Poor wifi signal strength. Check-in line not well organized, especially at peak hours. Tiny TV screen. Drainage problem in shower stall. Dark closet. Safe on lowest shelf - what's preventing hotel from putting it at least one level shelf up so one doesn't need to kneel using it, and in darkness.
Behavior of staff
Wash room
Beautiful hotel for reasonable price. Excellent lo
For a little over $100 per night this hotel is very nice. I'm surprised there's an even more upscale sister hotel Grand Central next door! The rooms are quite spacious and clean. The location is excellent, 3 blocks from the Metro 2 stop and right behind the famous walking street.
The staff is not the most friendly and they were doing construction in a room close by which caused quite a bit of noise early in the morning and the water in our room was shut off for half a day. With that in mind we should have gotten a price reduction on the room for the inconvenience.
With a stay at Central Hotel Shanghai, you'll be centrally located in Shanghai, steps from Nanjing Road Shopping District and 10 minutes by foot from People's Square.
