Surfers Paradise hotels near SkyPoint Observation Deck

Pros: The hotel included nice restaurants that provided delicious food and great service. Rooms were of decent size and the location was within walking distance of the main shopping area.

Cons: In short, we were placed in the first room on level 8 that had blood stains on the curtains. We requested to change the room and were able to, but the hotel didn't recognize or acknowledge our concerns. The second room on the same level had further stains on the blinds and carpets that make you realize that this is a party hotel for "schoolies" and not adults, couples or a family retreat.

Pros: Location was in the city near the heart of town

Cons: I was staying at the hotel and thought it would be nice to have some appetizers and a drink at the bar in the lobby, after I ordered a security officer came up to me and said hats were not allowed in the bar after 7pm. I had never been in this bar so I had no idea of a dress code at it was 7:15 so I wasn't really formally dressed for an evening just yet because I had spent the day on the beach. I am an executive at my company, I am usually always dressed well but that day I had board shorts a t shirt and a hat. I explained to security I was simply going to pay for my drinks and go upstairs when he left onto the bar, put his arm down and said "it's simlple mate you can either take it off or I'll do it for you" I was so taken back; I'm staying in a 5 star hotel and never expected to be threatened physically by a member of their staff. I immediately responded with that's not the way to talk to people, I approached the reception and asked for the GM... The GM was not on so an assistant manager was the acting duty manager. As I'm explaining to the Asst Manager I was so distraught by the school yard bully approach of a corporate prestigious hotel that the manager himself could tell it wasn't appropriate what there security had done. I look over at the bar area near the hotel lobby and the security is standing outside with a smirk on his face staring me down followed by putting his hands up in a threatening gesture. I asked the manager if he felt that tactic was appropriate given the situation and he agreed it was wrong and offered me free drink ticket. The last thing on my mind was having a drink inside the bar where the own staff seem to be out of control. Aside from many other things I felt were very lacking in this hotel that was enough for me to want to leave, I wouldn't recommend this hotel to my enemies.

Pros: nice place, good staff

Cons: hot water didn't work, couldnt have a proper shower

Pros: The bed was really comfortable

Cons: The shower was not good and we couldn't adjust the settings for the force the water came out. Also we wanted to turn the heating on in the room and I turned the temp up to the highest but the room never warmed up the temp didn't change at all.

Pros: The staff responsed well to a complaint.

Cons: The bed in the first room we had had springs broken. I think the most inportant thing is to have good beds.

Pros: Great position, friendly staff. (gave me 2 drink and gaming vouchers as he had to answer the phone while booking me in)

Cons: When requesting car from car park, concierge was having another conversation whilst on phone to us.

Pros: The bed was Sooooo soft

Cons: Not a long enough holiday. Wanted to stay longer.

Pros: The buffet breakfast was good.

Cons: Poor staff attitude.

Pros: Pool/spa was clean but not enough shade/wind protection.Location was good. Rooms quiet and comfortable(offpeak) Ocean view.

Cons: Surfaces eg tables in room not cleaned during stay. Complimentary coffee/ tea not replaced. Pool towels not replaced..Dirty towel refolded on one occasion. Bathroom vent not working but was repaired promptly. Bedside alarm not working. Not enough drawer space for clothes.Breakfast(buffet) too expensive especially when wanting to leave hotel early so no time for leisurely breakfast.Movies should be complimentary.

Pros: location, cleanliness, staff demeanour, breakfast dining area & food.

Pros: Being near to the shops/restaurants/transport. Husband enjoyed using the gym facilities. Breakfast was very good.

Pros: Location was great and priced well

Cons: The bed was incredibly uncomfortable and very small for a double more like a large single for anyone that is over 180cm such as myself

Pros: I liked that it was within walking distance to a variety of shopping and food outlets.

Cons: No - nothing major that I didn't like

Pros: Whilst initially we were given a room that hadn’t been made up (housekeeping made a mistake and confirmed the room had been cleaned when in fact it had) however the lovely girl at reception quickly rectified the situation and also gave us a free upgrade. Our room faced the beach and was an absolute stunning view.

Cons: This is not something that worries us but it should be known that the nightclub music can be heard till all hours in the morning (even on the 24th floor where we were.

Pros: The hotel was close to downtown and the beach. Rooms were a decent size and fairly comfortable. Nice blinds blocked out the sun.

Cons: The room wasn't the cleanest. I was on the 20th floor and music from the nightclub below was still pretty loud.

Pros: The staff at concierge and reception desks - really helpful.

Cons: Finding hairs in my bathtub when I walked in..

Pros: Really good position, doorstep from Hard Rock Cafe and central road, few minutes walk from the beach

Cons: Wi-fi is not included, you have to pay for it The aircon wasn't working and they fixed it the 3rd day we were there

Cons: Could not connect to wifi.

Pros: Great location. Only 1 block from the beach and 1 block from main shopping street.

Cons: The bathrooms we're grosse. This hotel is 3 star.

Pros: Convenience to everything

Cons: I don't like when the manger came to my room 2 nights and asking me is everything ok I ask him why you keep coming and asking that

Pros: We really enjoyed staying at this hotel. Location, rooms, facilities and staff were great .

Cons: Honestly there is nothing I can complain about that.
