Holiday Inn Sydney Airport

Arrived early at 9am and they were able to accommodate us straight away, no waiting for the room to become available. There was a problem with our first room though as it smelled of stale cigarette smoke (even though its a non-smoking venue). Reception got us moved to another room without delay though so very happy with how they handled it. Staff were friendly and helpful throughout too. Restaurant staff were very accommodating too, some family came over after breakfast had already finished but staff stayed behind to cook something up for us. Mascot train station is just 10min walk away along with a Woolworths supermarket and some eating places. Wife is a light sleeper and noise wasn't an issue except for one morning I'll mention below. Overall very happy here and would come again.

One morning there were a lot of doors opening and closing in the hallway, not sure if a lot of guests coming and going or cleaning staff going in and out of the rooms - either way it was quite noisy and disruptive - later on I checked with our door and there isn't really a quiet way of closing the door. Was only a problem for one morning of our stay though so not big of an issue.

Great location close to the airport, comfortable bed and soft and firm pillow choice was much appreciated.

The buffet breakfast was really good. Looked much nicer than any other Holiday Inn I have stayed at. They let us check in early after a long 15 hr flight. They had a kids area with chalk board set up in the lobby. Very close to Mascot train station.

They charged us for the airport shuttle $7 per person.
