The late night check-in was a pain for the agent because he didn’t know our flight info. Felt like I was an inconvenience for the late arrival after flight delays and 24 hours of travel. Wasn’t a good experience even after understanding his point of view. He was accommodating but pushy after finding out I had an expired license while waiting for my partner to arrive and finish the rental agreement.

My total price of booking including taxes was supposed to be $265 . I paid for tolls and gas from sixt . But they charged an additional A1 , $36 car rental tax 2% plus 8% sales tax and A2 tax was charged . Car was good but they gave me a car that needed coolant after I drive for 2 days so I had to exchange the car at a different airport . I hope you guys can contact me back .

Even though No-Birds is not on-site at the airport, the shuttle works well. Efficient. You need to call an Australian phone number for the shuttle to pick you up at the airport, which is a bit of a problem for foreigners like us. Once at the facility in Mascot, pickup and dropoff very efficient, better than the big competition.

Pick up in Picton was very disappointing. No service that met the InterIsland ferry schedule. We were not provided a service on the day and time for a rental pickup Very poor service not accomodating. Never heard or experienced a rental car depot that does not provide the vehicle key collection or wait in their office for their client. Very disappointed

Having elected airport pickup and drop off I expected just that. The bus collection system was ok but a little inconvenient. The return was impossible because flight was at 6 and returns were not open at that time. Their solution was that I return the previous day before 5pm. So it cost me inconvenience and two taxi trips. Apex said they are Avis and budget begging the question why we could not drop at the airport in the am. Will avoid in future. Regards Rob

Avis tried adding a $500 one-way drop off fee that was not in the original estimate. It took several attempts to get it resolved. Had to talk to several agents and phone calls to help center. Truly a bait and switch on Avis’s part with lots off “we’re not able to take the charge off” and “we can’t override the system” conversations.

The supplier choice is apparently an EV even though I didn’t select the EV option. They require you to bring the car back charged. For a one day rental to the airport, that is not realistic. I was also charged for gas, which I had stopped near the airport and filled up. I eventually got a credit but the whole thing was a hassle and didn’t leave me feeling good about renting from Budget in the future.

Pick up process was ridiculous. I'm not exaggerating--standing outside (not in any type of building or cover) for 56 minutes while they tried to figure out rentals for myself and 7 other customers. Ended up just giving me a size up, was not cleaned well, didn't have record of what fuel level was at, and staff spoke all of 3 words to me. I saw the poor reviews at this location and figured, how bad can it be? Yes I got my vehicle and it worked fine, but the entire pick up and drop off experience was horrible and I do not plan to rent from this brand at this airport again.

The staff at Jucy Melbourne airport were fabulous. We shared some laughs and easy conversations with Charlie who picked us up and dropped us back to the airport. The reception was also pleasant although the office could use a good clean it didn't impact the customer service. The car itself was mediocre but it was clean and did the job!

Service was great in terms of quality if car and staff helping , but not enough communication/direction in regards to drop off and locations. Disappointing that the pending transaction is seperate to the final cost . I’ve had $1600 leave my account for a 3 day car hire and waiting on the pending $855 to be returned .

The actual car and process was a great experience. However, I have an issue with Ace Car Rentals overall. When I picked up my vehicle in Christchurch, I provided my Credit Card for a holding deposit, and to pay for an additional driver. This was the ONLY place that I used my Credit in Christchurch. However the next day I noticed 3 transactions on my Credit Card by UBER Eats Christchurch (totalling AUD $228.98), all processed at 3.47am the next morning. As I said, this was the ONLY place that my Credit Card was used in Christchurch. Therefore I can only assume that... a) The staff member who processed my pickup (and knew that I was from Australia, and that the car would be dropped off hundreds of kilometres away), used, or passed on my Card information to someone else, or... b) Someone was able to access ACE Rental systems. Based on this experience, I would be reluctant to recommend ACE Car Rentals to my family or friends.

customer service person was in training so it took a lot longer, would have been better for a senior person to work with him to get it done faster. Manager was a bit blunt and rude, as a one-way fee was added at the counter and not when we made the reservation, which is why we chose dollar instead of another company. we probably would've went with another company closer if they would've just been up front with the fees. The manger just said "well you can take it or not take the car". a bit rude.
