Pros:The car was nice and clean.Cons:The service when picking up the car was horrible. It took over an hour to get the car, and only 2 people were in line in front of us. It took the agent a half hour to process our already prepaid car rental reservation that we booked online. Then as we tried to pull out of the lot, we were told my husband was not listed as a driver, and the agent was supposed to have had ONLY him as the driver. It was a mess and we were tired. Finally the manager, Rebecca was able to fix everything. Unfortunately, we will NEVER use Thrifty again. Not worth the aggravation when there are so many other car rental options.Reviewed 6 Jan. 2020

Thrifty at Palm Springs Intl Airport '- UnacceptablePros:They identified my booking with KayakCons:The lady at the counter: - Did not recognized the insurance with ALIANZ I paid to Kayak, she told me that If I had an event, I must solve it by my own because thrifty will not recognize the insurance acquired with you - IS THIS CORRECT? - She told me the Nissan Versa was not for 4 people (not true), is certainly a small car but it worked for us, 2 adults and 32 kids. - Push me to acquire an additional insurance because the one with Kayak did not covered liabilities - any damage to third parties Overall, I think that with so much rental companies, you should go with a different one as a customer I rented the car on 4/1 at noon. After receiving my contract I explained to the manager what was the caseReviewed 9 Jan. 2019

Pros:On February 27, 2017, I made a reservation to rent a Thrifty rental car through Kayak. The rental was to commence with my picking up the vehicle on March 6, 2017 at 1:00 p.m. at the Thrifty facility at the Palm Beach International Airport (PBI). The rental was scheduled to end with my dropping off the vehicle at the same facility on March 10, 2017 at 12:00 p.m. The price was $22.18 or less per day, all taxes and surcharges included. The total for the four days was supposed to be $87.88. My Kayak Confirmation No. was H22530715B2. When I went to the airport on March 10, 2017, my plans changed in that I needed to extend my stay in Florida by one day, until March 11, 2017. When I arrived at the Thrifty facility at PBI, I informed the agent on the electronic kiosk that I was going to stay an extra day or part thereof. The Thrifty Agent’s name was Lori. She was located in Oklahoma City. When I told Lori I wanted to extend the rental for a day, she told me that the rate would change from the daily rate that I had booked to a weekly rate, which would result in a charge of approximately $170.00. I asked why one additional day would result in an increase of about $90.00 when the daily rate was $22.18. Lori told me it was because the daily rate would not apply if the rental was five days or longer and that the charge would be computed on the weekly rate. I asked Lori what would happen if I simply returned the car a day late, on March 11. That is, would I be charged for an additional day at $22.18 or would I be charged the additional $90.00? Lori said that it was possible that I would be charged an additional $22.18 at the daily rate but it was likely that I would be charged $170.00 based on the weekly rate. I decided to take my chances. My rental started at 1:45 p.m. on March 6, 2017. It was supposed to end at 12:00 p.m. on March 11, 2017 I returned to the Thrifty facility at PBI on March 11, 2017 at 8:09 a.m. During my rental, I had driven 171 miles. I rented the vehicle with a full tank of gas and returned it in the same condition. There were no damages to the vehicle. The attendant checked the mileage, calculated my charges and provided me a slip. The charges totaled $271.20. In other words, it cost me $183.32 because I was twenty hours and nine minutes late; less than one day. For what should have cost $22.18, based on the daily rate, I was charged over eight times that amount. After receiving the slip from the attendant, I immediately went into the Thrifty office and complained about the charges. I told the agent about the kiosk conversation with Agent Lori and asked why the charges had gone from the $170.00 that Lori told me I would probably be charged to $271.20. I did not receive any explanation other than that’s what the charges were. I left the facility and took the Thrifty shuttle to the airport (thank you for that). I am disputing the charges.Reviewed 12 Mar. 2017

Pros:I like both vehicles we were given and the return location was super convenient.Cons:I didn't like much of anything except what I mentioned earlier. I will never rent from Thrifty again. There is far too much to write, but we were disrespected and overcharged, I could go on. Feel free to call me at 804.513.4138.Reviewed 25 Jun. 2018

Pros:The vehicle was clean and comfortable. The representative was was very friendly.Cons:I didn’t like that I reserved a midsize car in July for our trip in November and we ended up with a pickup truck. The rep suggested that we upgrade to a full size car for an additional fee and that we could choose one of the Altimas when we got to the lot. When we got there we were told that the Altima was unavailable and we had to take the truck. There were no other full size oe mid size cars available.Reviewed 3 Dec. 2017
