Very close to both metro and train station. Walking distance to Ginza, though a bit up and downs in those tunnel and overcross. Breakfast covers Western and Continental food, limited choice though. The fish market is not far as well.
Old appliance in the room, not much power outlets around the bed.
Everything was perfect except for the quite high early check-in fee.
Upon arrival we thought we were too far from downtown Tokyo, this was not the case. Where the hotel is situated is within a handy precinct. It has a subway and station within 5 minutes walk and plenty of shops and a variety of restaurants and eating outlets down stairs from the hotel. We were pleased we were not in the middle of Tokyo, the Shiodime complex had far more to offer. Staff were friendly, Chen at the Concierge gave us amazing service on two seperate occasions, we were very grateful for her recommendations. The hotel also provides discounted Metro subway tickets and complimentary bottle water each day. The in-house guest laundry was very convenient and inexpensive.
No English speaking TV channels, unless you purchase them. The ironing board provided was completely useless, it was a piece of flat board about 60cm long, making you unable to iron dresses or shirts properly.
We were looking forward to a stopover in TOKYO which is one of our favourite cities, The location was excellent as we are familiar with the location and the foyer and reception services were terrific and what we expected. That is where it ended!! Downhill after that.
We had booked a Superior double room and were given a smoky unrenovated smaller room with a bed against a wall for the two of us, We complained and were advised that is what we booked, TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. After much argument were given another room which was a renovated room and a proper bed , only to be told that we would have to pay an extra amount, this is when the same room was still available on line for a lesser amount than what we paid for the smoky room. Finally and an hour after arriving after a long flight from Paris they agreed to the new room without the extra charge that was not warranted!!
Beautiful building and lobby. Staff was nice
Room was small, bathroon okd and tiny, bed & pillows were hard
