it wasn't the car I had booked. I booked a compact like a VW Up or similar, manual, for 143 and ended up getting a massive Skoda Rapid wagon, automatic, and had to pay almost double the price for it at 217. I had no time to argue. But I got thoroughly ripped off. Will stick with Hertz8.0 Very Good

The lady at the counter was really nice and helpful. Just the price was quite hefty... Payed 130$ a day for a midsize , becuse i took full waiver It should b much cheaper for good drivers who have a clean slate in respect of car damages Shouldnt cost more then 75$ a day maxSixt

Cons:
Didn't realize that there wasn't an easy way to get from the airport to the downtown Sixt location. And then when our flight was late and we couldn't get to the downtown location before they closed, we couldn't transfer our reservation to the Sixt airport location because we prepaid through kayak. We ended up paying for an additional car for one day and then we had to drive back to the city the next day when the downtown location was open to get it all straightened out. It was kind of a pain.Alamo

Cons:
Car via Hertz did not have a full tank! Filled it up for 8 CHF, No compensation. Was requested instead to fill it up to the same "not full level of 7/8". Poor customer service! Avoid Hertz at Basel!Hertz

Hertz office at Dreispitz in Basel is hard to find. Signs lead to a carwash, not to the office. The vehicle had two tires inside, taking up the entire trunk space. The guy at the office was telling me unbelievable stories that I have to carry those tires with me. Fortunately in another Hertz office they gladly took those tires from me.9.6 Wonderful

Everything about the rental went smoothly, the car was clean and comfortable.Cons:
It was a bit confusing to find the rental place, since Basel airport has a french side and a swiss side. Of course it's not Hertz's fault, just pay attention if you're renting in Basel airport. Another point is that we paid in advance for a second driver and ended up not using it - would have been nice if there was an option to add another driver in the middle of the trip.Thrifty
