Despite having a reservation, they didn't have our car, and we had to wait over an hour to get a car - it was the worst Enterprise experience we've ever had. Thankfully they worked with us in Burlington to get a different car, which was appreciated, and they offered a small discount. But overall super poorly managed situation. If you have a reservation, they need to make sure your car is ready!

I booked on Kayak and was told by Sixt desk that there was no car available. The third party service booked me for a non existent car. I had to quickly book directly with another rental company. Sixt should not let third party companies book cars if they don’t have capacity.

The supplier choice is apparently an EV even though I didn’t select the EV option. They require you to bring the car back charged. For a one day rental to the airport, that is not realistic. I was also charged for gas, which I had stopped near the airport and filled up. I eventually got a credit but the whole thing was a hassle and didn’t leave me feeling good about renting from Budget in the future.

Pick up process was ridiculous. I'm not exaggerating--standing outside (not in any type of building or cover) for 56 minutes while they tried to figure out rentals for myself and 7 other customers. Ended up just giving me a size up, was not cleaned well, didn't have record of what fuel level was at, and staff spoke all of 3 words to me. I saw the poor reviews at this location and figured, how bad can it be? Yes I got my vehicle and it worked fine, but the entire pick up and drop off experience was horrible and I do not plan to rent from this brand at this airport again.

I did like the drop off system, very easy and convenient. I wasn’t happy with not having enough signs telling me where to go at the terminal and also at the rental building, since I did the paperwork online. I had a car reserved for me but the clerk gave a different key and car, that slowed down the process of me leaving the building. The cleaning and readiness of the car was mediocre.

I was told to confirm my Tesla Model 3 reservation at the 2nd floor counter and go to the 1st floor parking lot to find the E7 and go out. I looked around the 1st floor parking lot but couldn't find the Tesla vehicle in the Herz parking lot. As I was wandering around, an employee came up to me, looked at my documents stating that I had the E7, and said that the car would be delivered in 5 minutes, no, 3 minutes. However, after 10 minutes and no one showed up, I told another employee and only then did two people hurriedly drive out of the parking lot and bring the Tesla.

Our car smelled intensely of marijuana. Hertz was unwilling to give us a replacement. We went to three locations. It gave my entire family headaches and made us feel nauseous every time we drove it over a nine day period. Honestly, can't think of how it could have been a worse experience.

They literally had no cars available when we got there, had to wait in a long line and then they gave us a slip to go get an SUV and there were literally no cars available in the lot. The employees had been telling people to just get into whatever car they wanted. Happenstance that the first car that pulled up from being cleaned while we waited was an SUV.

W re reserved a car to go on a leaf peeping trip and when we arrived to pick it up, they were all out of cars. We ended up cancelling our reservation and paying double with another rental company but at least they had a car for our reservation.

Double charged (not pending holds--actual charges) and still waiting for a response from the company. Many pre-trip messages insisting that I should check in online to "skip the desk and go straight to the car." Fortunately I didn't do that, because upon arrival, numerous unhappy travelers were turned away at the garage and sent back to the desk to check in. There were physical signs everywhere asking people to check in online and go straight to the garage. Terrible treatment at the desk. The person lied and said, verbatim, "We only have electric cars right now." and asked if I needed instructions on how to find charging stations. I insisted on a gas car and suddenly he was able to make one available--for twice the price we had reserved online! Don't lie to me and say there are not any gas cars then. Bad service in general too. He asked me how to spell my name WHILE actively holding my photo ID, and then later asked "What kind of card is that" after I had paid. (He meant Visa vs. Mastercard, which, again, you have my card. Stop wasting my time.) Car center console was dirty with brown sticky residue. Horrible experience start to finish, and I'm still not even finished since I'm still waiting for the charges to be corrected.

I accidentally rented an electric car… in thrifts defense I did not read the description before I purchased. It wasn’t until I was 30m away from the airport that I realized. Took forever to charge the car. The car only had 200mi on it to empty when I rented it. Also did not interact with anyone to get the car it was all online, turned in the keys to a human but that’s it.

Wildly inconvenient. I was given an electric rental that was not fully charged. I spent much of my vacation frantically looking for chargers to get it charged and wasted time I had planned for visiting instead on waiting for a rental car to charge. There should be warning or pop up pr some kind of instructions to renter that they are receiving a fully electric car so they know ahead of time and can swap if need be.

Gave me a nearly 3 year old beater van (I recenter a standard sedan) that had a shoddy transmission and had dings and scrapes all over it. Then tried to blame a ding on me. Fortunately, I took a video before driving off the lot so I could successfully contest the claim, but the quality of vehicle and obvious attempt to scam me make me never want to rent from Dollar again (or Hertz group in general).

Car could have been cleaner. Had an initial for the proper sized vehicle we initially booked. Employees were helpful. The drop off procedure was excellent. An employee actually drove us in the car to our airline which meant we didn’t have to wait for a shuttle bus. That was much appreciated!

Be very careful when selecting your car if they send you the option to go “skip the line and go straight to your car.” My only option was an electric car (EV) and I clicked the icon. That seemed a bit sneaky. The Dollar staff was able to help me, but it took some time to switch out the car. Otherwise, everyone was very nice and the car I drove away with was new and very clean.

Open-air all-terrain

My experience was outstanding! Excellent car, spotless and fun to drive. I left my phone in the car and went back to retrieve it. The customer service rep took my information and went looking for the car. Ten minutes later she came back with it in her hands. What a great relief 😅

Pros:

Excellent staff at pick up and drop off.

Cons:

Car smelled like cigarette smoke and wasn't very clean. Line to pick up car at the airport was VERY long, took over an hour to get the car.

Pros:

Easy pick up and drop off for the most part at the airport except the National employees weren’t at the counter when flights got in making a great many people standing in line for both National and Alamo so the Alamo people could help us.

Cons:

Car smelled like something had been either in the car and got moldy or a wet animal had been inside causing the first day to be almost Unbearable to drive in.

Cons:

No one at counter at BOS upon arrival at 10:30pm. No sign saying to go up to where cars are. Finally found my way there. After saying they didn’t have the 8 seat suburban available that I had reserved, they eventually found one. Everything was great after that.

Pros:

The staff incorrectly filled out my paperwork and then over charged me for my rental. I have yet to hear back from them to correct it.

Pros:

They had issues with their credit card reader/computer and I had to wait for them to call my credit card company to verify it. This was at 1100pm after a long day of travel.... so it was a little annoying.

Cons:

The car was pretty beat up on the exterior and interior. Good news was they didn’t charge me for the condition of the car. I would have spent most of the rest of night circling things on the form otherwise.
