Very friendly and helpful staff. I was looking for a mid sized suv and on kayak it reserved a kia sorrento or equivalent but when I arrived at the rental there were no options for this. We took a Skoda kamiq which is somewhat smaller but I believe we were charged a mid size suv cost.

The electronics in the car kept failing every time I went over bumpy roads. One time the entire screen went out which made driving without GPS in my eyeline very stressful on the Irish roads that I had no familiarity with. Eventually learned to live with the interruptions, but in the moment it led to several stressful and unpleasant situations. When given a garage to go to to fix it there were no employees present and just a bunch of caras left idling with their hoods open. A crappy experience.

Pretty easy and straightforward pickup and dropoff. Car was very clean and pleasant to drive. Got amazing gas mileage as well!

Ease of picking up the car

Cons:

We were not warned by the staff that we should photograph and document every tiny scratch on the vehicle....including the bumpers! The staff at the Hertz near Shannon Airport will charge you exorbitant amounts for any tiny scratch. We were assessed over $700 for three very short (the largest was less than 2 cm) thin (a couple of millimeters thick maybe) on the front bumper. These were not dents at all, just superficial scratches on a plastic bumper.

Had to wait a long time to pick up the car There was an additional €250 for insurance which doubled the price of the car. Ridiculous!

Car was technically "similar" to what we reserved (5 person + luggage) but actually much smaller with tiny little back windows so rear passengers couldnt see much. Also, crazy stupid requirements to waive insurance were not stated ahead of time.
