Pros:Ibis is located right on the shore, a walk across the street and you are on the beach. Also, it is in the northern half of El-Jadida, which means that you are away from the crowded and smelly medina, and in an area of town that is a bit less densely populated, and seems to be the nicer area of town. The breakfasts are OK, but nothing special; the usual Moroccan fare. Honestly, the location of this hotel is its only real advantage. Other than that, it is worn down, worn out, and overpriced.
Cons:First of all, the elevator was not working properly. All the buttons had been removed on the floors aside from the lobby, so you just had to wait for it to come on its own. The rooms were small, and old and run down. No frills here whatsoever. I had to take pillows from another room when nobody was looking because the staff would not give me extra pillows. The breakfasts are absolutely nothing special. I was trying to figure out if the orange juice was actually freshly squeezed with water added (as is typical in Morocco), or straight out of a container. Even though I was with a Moroccan friend, I was not informed at check-in time that there is a 25% discount for Moroccan citizens. Oh yes, and the hotel is right next door to an amusement park, which means noise, noise, noise until the wee hours of the morning. There is a lot more to say about this hotel, but I can sum it up in one word: overpriced. For $83 a night (which did not include breakfast), what I got in return was a no-frills, run-down hotel near the beach, that's about it. I personally would recommend the Ibis Budget hotel next door, which is only about $50 per night -- and though definitely no-frills, at least doesn't pretend to be anything more than that. This Ibis pretends to be something it is not.
