The car I reserved had flat tires - they up charged me for the next available vehicle. That vehicle smelled like smoke inside as if someone had been smoking heavily in it and it wasn’t cleaned. That vehicle also had problems with the air pressure in the tires as well as the key being alerted with a low battery. It felt like all the vehicles there had some problem. They also charged me for fuel reserve when I didn’t ask for that, and I had to call Hertz corporate to have them remove it after I saw my bill. I felt like they tried to slip that in without me noticing. Definitely one of my worst experience is renting cars, and I’ve rented a lot of cars.Reviewed 29 June 2026

The individual that initiated the contract when I picked up the truck was awesome, efficient and polite. Unfortunately, after driving the truck for 1 hour, the engine light came on. We called where we had picked up the truck and they didn't quite know what to do and we called a Hertz rental where we were headed and they didn't quite know what to do. We were told they would call us back as soon as they got a hold of someone who knew. No one ever called. It was very frustrating and upsetting. When I took the truck back and told them no one really seemed to care. Thank God, after a while, the engine light did not come on anymore. When we returned the truck and informed the manager of Hertz Rental she seemed nonchalant and just said that shouldn't have happened because it only has a little over 3,000 miles on it. My money robbed by Herts without giving me a car. Just fooled me saying car will be ready at 12, when I went there they said car is not available and probably will come in the evening, asked me to take another car paying double the money. The bottom line is simple, you make people to book for lower price/ show attractive price in websites, when you reach there simply say cars are not available, only high end cars are available, if you want pay more and take.Reviewed 26 June 2026

Reserved and prepaid for a car. Once I arrive there was no car. They do not seem to understand how reservations work. We were put in a major bind and nearly missed the even we flew in for. The young man behind the desk gets 5 stars for trying his best to find us another rental car from another agency. My advice to anyone renting from Hertz- don't do it if you actually need a car.Reviewed 25 June 2026
