Seems very deceptive. They didn't have my car when I went for pickup and alternatively offered me another vehicle that was much more expensive. This seems to be a tactic of their of manipulating customers into higher prices who are stressed for time. I ended up walking out of there, walking down the street, and took my business to Enterprise, who took care of me in a matter of 5 minutes. Never going back to Hertz.Reviewed 19 Apr 2026

3 hour delay getting the car despite a reservation and checking in online. Ridiculous overbooking which is entirely the fault of Hertz. Pros: Free water bottle refill machine inside the Hertz. Allowing pickup of "manager special electric car" a few hours earlier before .appointment,. Cons: Does not allow any refund if dissatisfied with car rental, no refunds of any kind for cars that are returned early. at the same time, charges full day rental price. extra $11 USD charge for electric car prepaid charge up at Hertz counter. Counter staff lied about electric car range (says it was 200 miles, was dashboard display was only 130 miles range on 80% charge during highway high speed dirving). Electric car is super slow trying to charge, takes over 5 hours to fully charge at ChargePoint stations. Also very limited spots and places for charging purely electric cars. After this experience, I will NEVER want rent an purely electric car again for any planned road trips longer than 50 miles roundtrip, no matter how cheaply it was priced (eg. ~25 USD per day). Eletric cars only seems to be good for very short trip.under 50 miles total.Reviewed 14 Apr 2026

When we arrived, the extra fees and insurance were way more than the offer we had booked. There was a significant 50% increase, and we had to purchase an additional insurance policy for the car, which cost about $200 more. If we had chosen not to buy the insurance, we would have had to leave a large deposit of approximately $4,000. So, it’s important to be prepared to pay the extra insurance for the car and to have a deposit hold.
