The staff was very friendly and helpful, but they didn’t have any cars when I got there. I was forced to take a car that was a lot more expensive than the original car I had reserved. I ended up paying more than $20 a day extra than the car I originally reserved. I tried to exchange it during the week for a cheaper car, but there were none available.

We rented 2 cars for our group and one of the cars was incorrect. We ordered a “Chevrolet Suburban or similar” and got a minivan. Mistakes happen but the man working the pick up counter at the airport in Kona was the rudest customer service person I have ever dealt with. It was appalling. I wouldn’t rent through Hertz again because of this person.

HORRIBLE experience.... they Over booked an Lied to me TWICE saying that my vehicle was reserved... i show up No vehicles to rent much less the truck i had reserved over THREE weeks in advanced....

Overall it was good but it was an electric car and finding a spot to charge it was not easy. When I finally found one the plug did not fit in the vehicle so I had to take it back not fully charged and got dinged on that but not too badly.
