Car was very dirty on inside and smelled. The car had clearly been in an accident and had damage on driver side door and would shake when driven above 60 mph.

Overall it was easy to pick and drop off, the car was not clean in glove box and back seat area

The value was quite good. The car size worked well for us. However, the gas tank wasn’t full as it was stated, and the inside of the car had not been cleaned.

Claimed there were no vehicles available to us despite us having a booking confirmation and there being vehicles in the lot. Evidently over booked them selves. We ended up missing a large portion of our planned trip and lost all the associated costs with that as we were not able to find suitable alternative.

Unexpected €30 charge after returning the car I booked the car through Kayak and prepaid for pickup and return at Marseille Airport. After I returned it, Avis deducted €30 from my deposit, calling it an “airport tax.” The charge was not disclosed on the booking page or explained when we picked up the car. Both the pickup and return locations were the airport from the start, so there was no change to our booking that could explain an additional airport charge. I only discovered it after the money was taken from my deposit. Avis should disclose all mandatory charges before customers pay, not deduct them after the rental is over.

The rep didn’t have the car ready even though we set it for a specific time. He then said to come at a certain time so he can get the car ready. After we picked it up, the car was dirty. The windows on the inside had a film on it as if it hasn’t been cleaned in a long time. There was still trash in between the seats and in the back. The doors were not clean, you could see spots of dirty fingers on the door panel. Car was not vacuumed either.
