The rental is not with the other airport rentals so you need to call and get a second shuttle to pick up your car. We had to wait for 3 trips since people showed up before us and they were only using an SUV. The person at the counter was nice enough and they upgraded our car so we’d have more space but the car was infested with ants and they told us that it wasn’t a good enough reason to get a new vehicle. We have a 2 year old and the ants were crawling all over her seat and on her. It was incredibly rude to not let us switch out the car. Waste of time and just gross. Pay the extra money to get a car from a good business.

When I arrived at the counter the told me about the previously undisclosed $20 per day fee to leave the state with the car. It was cheaper to cancel the reservation and book with another car rental firm.

It is the customer relation that is awful at Routes. Never accomodating. Asking for exhorbit sums for protection. Very suspicious company. Refused to give me the car I paid for in total because they judged my Driving permit invalid because it has no picture - which is the case for a lot of people working for the government of Qc in the North. If the Gvt issued it, in itself it valid! I tried to show them my medical card with my picture and offer a proof on insurance, but nothing did it. I had to go to the Montreal Airport to rent a car for more than double the price because of this. I spoke to one of my colleagues at work who told me they had a similar incident with them.

They don’t clean the inside of their cars. Also they have hidden fees that will make it well beyond what a larger company would charge.

The only positive was the cost. However, renters are led to believe that the total cost is that which is posted on the website. There is NO mention of the additional taxes and fees before booking. The wait time at pick up was excessive (2 hours); the car’s driver-side view mirror was inoperable; the rear seats were wet as the car had been washed with the windows down a bit; the rear right wheel made a loud squealing sound when making turns; the car was not well cleaned at pick up. This is apparently the norm for Routes as we heard several other renters stating like experiences on the shuttle back to the airport. This company really needs to up its game!

We never got the vehicle and didn’t get a refund. Vender tried to charge us $400 extra in person, very sketchy business.

I want my refund for the car insurance Upon my arrival to pick up the car I was informed Routes doesn’t use the insurance you charged me for, I am ripped off yet you were paid for a policy that was unenforceable
