Pros: We were over the top impressed with the Mistral!!!! I cannot say enough about the beauty of the hotel ( we had a family room on the top with a lovely patio- we traveled with our son and grandson), the warm and really delightful and extremely competent host,Jenny ( I think that is what her name was - the mom!!), the food-that was the BEST breakfast in Greece and the overall atmosphere!!!! Lovely lobby with beautiful antiques. This was our favorite place to stay on our whole trip. Don't miss this place if you go to Hydra!!

Pros: Everything was perfect.
6.8 Good
Pros: No obvious reception area and no staff person available to greet incoming guests or answer questions. It’s a quaint mom and pop operation with seat-of-the-pants management. But the rooms are clean and quiet, and the place is located in a shaded, quiet neighborhood a few minutes from the port.
Cons: Not well managed.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful and accomodating family runs this charming guesthouse very close to port but set just back enough for peaceful mornings.
8.0 Excellent
Pros: The accommodation was 5 minutes from the busy harbour and all its restaurants, but in a very quiet area away from all the bustle. I needed to do some work while I was there and there was a really good sized desk overlooking a courtyard.
Cons: The safe didn't work. The bed was on a raised platform with steps leading up to it, which could be a problem for anyone with mobility problems, and required caution when getting up in the night to use the bathroom.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: very nice room. the owner is so nice and made our stay very relaxed and easy. great quiet location.
Cons: nothing negative. it was a great place to stay on Hydra. would stay there again if we ever found ourselves there in the future.

Cons: Air conditioning wasn't working, but I suppose they have fixed it by now.
7.0 Good

7.3 Good
Pros: Absolutely charming guesthouse with very very helpful staff. Located a short walk from the port, it's quiet - almost idyllic. The hotel has a lovely garden with lemon trees and gorgeous flowers.
Cons: If you like soft pillowtop beds, this isn't the place for you.
6.7 Good
Pros: Well-designed and cute rooms, personal touch, comfortable bed, nicely located in a quiet area not very far from the port resulting in an overall very good price/quality ratio. Congratulations to Yannis, the guesthouse owner, for his personal touch and care in the rooms design as well as for his willingness to provide any advice and help. We will certainly come back.

Overview Reviews
When you stay at Four Seasons Hydra in Hydra, you'll be on the beach and steps from Vlychos Plakes. Featured amenities include express check-in, express check-out, and dry cleaning/laundry services. A cruise ship terminal shuttle is available for a surcharge.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Sea, room and restaurant
Cons: nothing
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The location is incredible. Breakfast and dinner meters from the sea and is dinner in particular is accompanied by a beautiful sunset. Although the hotel is fairly remote, a regular ferry goes between the main port and the hotel and was free for anyone staying at the hotel. The small ferry ran every hour until the evening when you had a number to call if you wanted to be picked up at a certain time. The main area on Ydra is easily walkable, if you don't fancy catching the ferry. Staff at the hotel work very hard and are very proactive, asking you if you would like loungers reserved, advising on menu options and generally going out of their way to ensure that you stay is as smooth as possible. There are only 6 rooms (that I'm aware of) so when all day guests to the hotel leave the place is very peaceful.
Cons: Only a couple of minor things. There were only 3 options for breakfast and I was woken up one night at 01:30am by a member of staff watering a tree with a hose. Not enough to ruin an amazing stay though.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great location, stuff and facilities Will visit again
Cons: All is good
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved everything! Being able to sit alone at the beach before 9:00 a.m.. Nice pebble beach with complimentary beach towels. Kayaks for guests use. Great breakfast. Very nice meals at the restaurant. Free transfer to Hydra port.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: We had only two days, one night. The Hydra luxury suites is just amazing. The staff picked up us at the harbour of Hydra by boat. The location is like a dream, a paradise. The staff is extremely nice and welcoming, always ready to make the stay unforgettable. I could draw and swim and we enjoy the excellent food, wine and have some trekking around. We choose the villa, it made our stay so special. Thanks to all the whole team of Hydra
9.5 Excellent
Pros: It’s a wonderful getaway from noisy Athens. It has everything you need, even when traveling with a small child. The staff really made an effort to make us comfortable.
Cons: The only thing that was an issue for us was a bright light of the exit sign in the bedroom. Our toddler had trouble falling back asleep after waking up at night because of it.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The room "Winter" and in particular the bed was very comfortable. Very relaxing, quiet with a great view. Nice walk there from the centre of town but also regular boat shuttle. Overall a great stay, I will definitely come back to Hydra and at the Four Seasons if I can.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: The location is fabulous. The rooms are simply furnished but nicely done. Staff were lovely. Food was great.
Cons: The fridge in the bedroom constantly switched itself on/off through the night, with a loud hum/buzz. Also, there was a large and brightly lit emergency exit sign in the bedroom. It was so large and bright I couldn't sleep. In the end we had to cover it with items of clothing to dim it down.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful hotel, friendly staff, all in all an ideal place to stay for what we wanted.
Cons: A minor problem with our bathroom flooding but was sorted out
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Loved the location and the staff were very helpful and attentive.

Cons: Good!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Garden and the building
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Location and garden for breakfast.
Cons: More plug sockets in room would be good. But otherwise a lovely place.
8.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely breakfast, either inside or in the lovely courtyard. Very handy location, away from the busy waterfront but very close to everything.
3.8 Mediocre
Pros: Power outage on both days of stay!! No power over night or until after check out time next day. Asked for later checkout and was flatly denied. Could not shower kruse bathroom as no lights. No air conditioning and no WiFi andor chrgi g phone power. Manager Martha rude. Will not return as they were not accommodating and had to pay full price.
7.0 Good
Pros: The location 150 m from the port, the building itsself (old captain house) , the history of the building and the forthcoming people serving
6.7 Good
Pros: Loved the location, not right on the busy port, but not too far away from the center of town. Also loved the building, an old Hydriot mansion, and its front garden. Finally, I found the staff extremely helpful, friendly, and good-spirited.
Cons: I think that the breakfast served could do with an update, even within a tight budget. Also the cleanliness, could do with a little more attention to detail. But then again, I am a very-detailed oriented person, so I guess I can see a lot of things as a housewife, that other people cannot.
6.7 Good
Pros: Beautiful old grand residence. Spotless. Competent and efficient front desk. Nice big rooms with very high classic- style ceilings. Right in the centre and 5 minute walk from the ferry terminal and dozens of restaurants.Perfect location
Cons: Everything was just fine. The ideal location and facility
7.7 Good
Pros: There was a nice buffet breakfast that could be eaten in their lovely courtyard.
6.7 Good
Pros: The hotel has a beautiful courtyard in the front where we had breakfast every morning. The room was standard but clean and comfortable. The staff was friendly and the location is unbeatable!
5.2 Okay
Pros: Good situated hotel with charming common areas and beautiful yard. Our room was large and clean, but quite dark and old-fashioned.
Cons: The breakfast was quite poor.
4.8 Okay
Pros: Great interior design, central location, always clean room
Cons: They should have better breakfast buffet ( it was really poor) and they should consider renovating the bathroom ( roasted tabs and metal parts) as well as buying new towels ( they were clean but extremely hard)
6.8 Good
Pros: The courtyard was very charming as were the common areas. The staff was very friendly. The view from my room was beautiful and at times lively (but the shutters were effective in blocking the noise when I wanted to sleep).
Cons: There was no overhead shower mount -- it's kind of hard to take a shower with only one hand free since you're holding the sprayer.
5.2 Okay
Pros: A nice charming hotel situated in a quite part of the town of Hydra. It is in a 100 metres walking distance from the old port of Hydra. An old mansion renovated with its tranditional style well preserved. Most importantly, to reach there, there are no steps to climb. I strongly recommend this hotel.
Cons: Rooms' interior is not as charming as the rest of the common areas of the building. Yet they are quiet and clean.
6.0 Good
Pros: Beautiful building with a nice courtyard. Great location, quiet, clean and close to the bustling Hydra harbour.
Cons: Rather spartan, poor breakfast.

Featured amenities include a computer station, complimentary newspapers in the lobby, and dry cleaning/laundry services. A ferry terminal shuttle is available for a surcharge.
5.5 Okay
Pros: Location is fine and airco and beds were okay
Cons: Breakfast was limited for a 5* hotel (we’ve had much better in 4* or even 3* hotels), staff was not very friendly, room was too small to properly put your suitcases somewhere accessible, no new shower gel or shampoo, a really stupidly constructed shower, you had to do all kinds of tricks not to wet the whole bathroom...
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Clean, close to port, helpful service
Cons: Little noise from water pipes in the room
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Staff were so polite and helpful! Breakfast was more than expected. Location was good and rooms were very comfortable. I would recommend this hotel.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable bed, very clean, great breakfast at a good price, and very helpful staff.
Cons: I liked everything.
8.8 Excellent
Pros: Love the location unbeatable and the view if you get a 2nd floor room is marvelous, the staff was nice Enough to plan a pick up luggage at the port would decently stay at Leto again
Cons: The air conditioning wasn’t working well the first 2 nights of our stay so it was a bit hot in the room and bed is a bit small to what we normally get in a 5 stars hotel
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The staff was wonderful! Good location, rooms were clean and lovely building
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Very comfortable rooms and beds - quiet position close to the port - excellent breakfast - picking up for the luggage on the arrival

9.5 Excellent
Pros: Lovely and clean hotel, minutes from the port. Luggage pick-up was prompt and efficient from the port. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Cons: Beds were not very comfortable, although the pillows were quite nice.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Everything about this hotel was awesome! We wanted to spend a few relaxing days in Hydra, so we thought we would splurge a bit and book this hotel. It has a boutique hotel feel, and staff were all friendly. They gave us iced water when we first arrived, and then showed us our lovely room with a nice balcony. There was a water kettle and tea bags for us to make tea. One thing i really appreciated was that we went out to buy water, and when our room was cleaned the lady who made up our room noticed that we had bought water from outside and gave us extra water so we didn't have to buy our own. It's small touches like this that make a hotel service stand out. The three nights in Hydra were the best and most relaxing nights we spent in Greece!
Cons: This has nothing to do with the hotel, but unfortunately we were in Hydra for two blackout sessions. There was some construction going on so there was a scheduled blackout session for 4 hours, and then the day before there was a surprise blackout session, not very fun when you just happened to be in the bathroom taking a shower. The hotel personnel informed us of the scheduled session and again, gave us extra water so we stayed hydrated!
7.5 Good
Pros: Staff were excellent and the hotel was well maintained
Cons: Air conditioning was centrally controlled so was never the temperature you wanted, breakfast was not what you’d expect from 5 star hotel.

Pros: Found the location central and convenient. The manager was friendly, welcoming and very helpful. Happy experience all round.
Cons: Breakfast could be a little more varied.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Value for money was great. A basic room but very comfy beds and a/c worked well. Plenty of hot water. Room is small, with small tv. No sofa and a single small chair. But we spent so little time in the room it did not matter. The hotel staff is super friendly. Nice little breakfast. Fabulous location -very quiet at night but 2 min walk to waterfront. Overall a great value - but if you want a huge room with oodles of amenities it’s probably not for you.
9.3 Excellent

Cons: Our room was small.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: Great cooling in the room
Cons: Nothing to complain aboit
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Michael and his staff are friendly, knowledgeable and all around great people. I would certainly recommend Sidra to anyone who wishes a delightful location on Hydra. A big thank you for making me Cafe Hellenico in the morning. It was the perfect way to start the day. My only criticism was the breakfast. I leave the following comment as a friend. To make the breakfast "better" I would suggest fresh not bottled orange juice, organic Greek yogurt, if possible local organic Greek thyme or orange blossom honey (if not local than from Crete), "homemade organic Greek fruit preserves, and a cut up fresh fruit bowl using the fruits that are in season. Pieces of hot spinach pie would also be a nice extra touch.
7.0 Good
Cons: The bathroom had no window
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is walking distance from the port but not in front. It has privacy and no confusion. The manager received us and made us feel at home. The room was very very clean and comfy able. Pros: The hotel was everything we wanted. The courtyard is full of plants and so tranquil. The rooms were quite large, as was my en suite. It's a short walk from the centre of the port but far enough to be quiet. The staff were fabulous. Always willing to help and recommended some great restaurants.
6.2 Good
Pros: Location
Cons: No English. Only one staff member Asked for payment even though prepaid a month prior Cats roaming everywhere No hot water unless circuit breakers in fuse box switched on an hour before shower
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Lovely staff, complimentary snacks, good location, good value for money (cheapest place I found on the island).
Cons: I don't have any complaints, I can't remember if there was an air con or not, but an air con in the hot summer months is an important amenity.

Pros: This pension is perfectly located 2 minutes walking distance from the port but super quiet. We stayed in the appartment on top floor which include a really terrace. I really recommend this pension for small budget in Hydra

Pros: Clean and spacious room. Distance from the port 3 minutes, you can not take a donkey for luggage. In the courtyard of a coffee machine and drink as much as you want. The staff is polite. Room cleaned every day. You can take towels for the beach for free. Go to the beach for 10 minutes on the stones and 20 minutes on the beach. And no russian tourists, that is the biggest plus.

10.0 Excellent
Pros: Accomadating friendly staff.Peaceful location.Charming hotel.Good coffee.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Charming, elegant, and on a quiet spacious street close to the harbour
Cons: The only issue was the shower — knob falling off and extremely low water pressure but chalked it up to it being an old mansion and the knob could be fixed
9.5 Excellent
Pros: This is such a lovely hotel in such a beautiful place. The staff was very welcoming and extremely helpful. The rooms are all unique. Our room had a private entrance and a small terrace. We woke up each morning to church bells and the sound of mules walking by. The breakfast was very nice in the secluded walled garden filled with lemon trees.
Cons: Our room's water heater didn't seem to be able to accommodate three people without a break.
9.3 Excellent
Pros: The hotel is one of the better ones on Hydra and the rooms are well designed , and not tired like at other hotels . The 3 female staff were faultless ; I would return due to them . There will be less expensive accommodation on the island but it won't have the character of this place .
Cons: The breakfast particularly , juice , coffee , fruit . I am told breakfast lets most Hydriot hotels down .

9.3 Excellent
Pros: The breakfast was wonderful. The building was interesting. Staff were very friendly
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Phaedre Hotel comprises various rooms and apartments. The apartments were absolutely beautiful and would support a Honeymoon holiday.
Cons: The common areas outside the rooms and the terrace above were available areas to meet but were actually restricted due to any extraneous noise outside the windows of rooms being curbed. With friends, we could not talk freely outside our rooms except when there were no adjacent occupants therein which spoilt the stay at Hotel Phaedre.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Wonderful place. Hilda made us feel as comfortable family.
Cons: All good!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: The owner was exceptionally helpful and really added to the experience of our stay.
Cons: Unfortunately our room had shuttered windows which face the street, it was a little noisy, however there are very cute rooms facing the courtyard.
10.0 Excellent
Pros: The little hotel an old refurbished 18 century home made into a lovely family run hotel. Balcony terrace for breakfast, great spanakopita hand made by the owner, Walking distance to the port, very clean and quiet.
Cons: Everything was perfect!
9.3 Excellent
Pros: Beautiful terrace where we were served a great breakfast every morning
Cons: Nothing
2.5 Mediocre
Pros: Nothing
Cons: Everything. Not much to do in Hydra. I strongly recommend doing a trip if necessary, save your money and spend time in Athens which is cool. This is an awful place to stay. The facilities and breakfast were awful. The breakfast consisted of few meagre pieces of stale bread. Bath room was dirty and the owner thought she was doing us a favour just by letting us stay and made a big deal of providing a bottle of water. Avoid this place at all cost - I don't have a single good thing to say about it.
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Extremely nice staff. They let my friend stay with us for one night unexpectedly!
9.5 Excellent
Pros: Absolutely charming place to stay. I stayed at Hotel Phaedra with my fiancée. We had a wonderful stay. Hilda, who works at the hotel, was a great hostess. We would definitely stay here again.
Cons: The bed was a little stiff for my preference, but a feather was would easily fix that. Overall, the room was charming and very nice.

Pros: The room was charming as was the hostess. Our quaint balcony had a view of the harbor and we could watch the people starting their morning with the donkey caravans laiden with goods for places up the thousands of steps of this town. Wonderful.
7.0 Good
Pros: Excellent location 20 meters from the harbour ! Shops, restaurants etc all around the hotel !
Cons: There was a kitchen with limited cooking facilitairs but no dining table at all ! Quite annoying when you have a 4 person family room. We had to turn a cupboard upside down and cover it with a towel to be able to eat our (self cooked) dinner. Also no balcony and no terrace (this involved room nr. 70).
7.0 Good
Pros: Location for excellent

9.3 Excellent
Pros: Both staff and the room are beautiful, many thanks for the hospitality.
Cons: Nothing I didn't like, but only a suggestion for breakfast upgrade with more seasonal fresh fruits would be nice. It would be nice to see some fresh peaches or nectarines besides the apples and pears.
7.0 Good
Pros: It's a short walk to the harbor and restaurants. It's a nice Boutique hotel.
Cons: You need to turn a switch 30 minutes before you want hot water, which you always forget when you want to take a shower, so that's a bit of a nuisance. Breakfast it OK, no variety, not a wide a range, but similar for other hotels we stayed in Greece. They can't make good Greek coffee. All-in-all expensive for what you get, but Hydra is expensive in general.

Pros: Very comfortable. Always clean and huge bed. Bathroom spacious, cupboard and desk in the room. Close walk to the port and restaurants and shops.
Cons: Very hard to find. Even locals don't know this place. You actually have to look for the Angelica Hotel and check-in there for Andrea Pension. Unfortunately this information is not given before. I had to walk around in the heat with all my luggage for a long time until I found the place! Was a bit loud due to guests sitting outside in the night. But that is not the hotel's fault!

4.5 Okay
Pros: Very clean Almost cheapest option in hydra but bad value for money because only BASEMENT ROOMS in this "pension"
Cons: This "pension" is in fact the annex of hotel angelica. Only 4 rooms...ALL BASEMENT ROOMS. Dark and very small window. PICTURES ARE NOT REALISTIC. The manager is not friendly because he knows many customers are disapointed as we were.
5.8 Okay
Cons: Very small bathroom. Didn't have a sign where is the rooms. Got to ask in a nearby shop to find it.
