Pros:
Staff was courteous. I had picked the cheaper "We choose" option, getting my anything above an economical class car. The employee asked me about my plans and when I mentioned camping and hiking far in Charlevoix, he offered an SUV they had on the lot. It was definitely more than what I expected and it made a difference in our trip.Cons:
No option to return the vehicle on Sundays, as they're closed, so I had to rent the car for an extra day to drop it off on Monday morning.6.4 Okay

When we returned the car, the agent was very helpful in addressing our problems, and she reduced the price somewhat to compensate for our frustrations.Cons:
Due to construction barriers and lack of signs, the rental return location was IMPOSSIBLE to find. We finally had to stop and ask directions at another hotel (not the hotel in which the rental office was located). The person at that hotel said that a lot of people ask for directions, i.e., have the same problem that we had.7.6 Good

Pros:
The BAD - the vehicle had not been cleaned. The GOOD - they got right onto getting it cleaned. I got upgraded to a vehicle that REALLY suited my needs. They got me in/out without a minimum of fuss. Operation is updated electronically, ie email receipts. Had a choice of languages when it came to verbal needs. Gonna go back for sure. The price was RIGHT!10.0 Wonderful

Pros:
Car drove from Quebec to Montreal with no problem. Comfortable and quiet.Cons:
It was a very stressful experience returning the car. It was downtown Montreal (Place Desjardins--Blvd Rene Levesque/Jeanne Mance) and one street was blocked off for a festival. Our GPS also kept trying to take us on the opposite side of the rental office. The office was closed, so we just gave it a shot to call a hotel nearby, the Hyatt Regency. Luckily the man on the phone gave us a clear route down St. Urbain (one way street) to find the office (a small sign outside a parking garage). So call that hotel if you get lost! The office was down in the parking garage. There was no sign of where to put the car, except a space with a bunch of cars with a rope across it. We decided to just unhook the rope and park it there. It also took us awhile to find the key drop (a inconspicuous pipe with a lid over it). A sign with an indication "key drop" would be helpful.9.6 Wonderful

I've done over a dozen car rentals in my life and without a doubt, this was the easiest and fastest I've ever had. No upselling, or trying to get my to pay for an upgrade when my reservation was out, I was driving within 3 minutes of walking into the place. They let me switch return locations by phone no hassles at all.2.0 Poor

The drop-off location was in the bottom level of a garage under a hotel. There was a door requiring a code, which I was not given, so I had to park on the street and go up to the hotel desk, who eventually sent a porter down to open the door for me. Once I got inside I found a budget office on the bottom level with the door open, but no employees anywhere to be found. After waiting for 15 minutes and not seeing anyone I decided to just leave my receipt and the keys in the car. I had not filled the gas tank and was hoping to ask the employee what the charge would be so I could judge if I wanted to take the car back out and find a gas station before handing the keys over or if it wasn't worth it, but obviously was unable to do that. Upon seeing my adjusted bill yesterday, I see that they charged me $122 for what could only have been at most 8 gallons of gas.10.0 Wonderful

Pros:
Super easy pickup. Staff were cheerful and efficient. They had already listed all the scratches and stains on the car before I picked it up, explaining that since it was a a one-way rental that was very important. I'd never had any rental company staff so attentive to that in my life!Cons:
When it got rainy or dark I found out that the inside of the windscreen needed a good cleaning and the wiper blades needed replacing. Really affected vision - a safety problem. Auto door lock never worked.Discount Car & Truck Rentals
