Pick-up truck

Gas prices in Seattle were $5.40/gal and I was driving a full size pickup. That was a bit of a shock. But really - I can say nothing bad about the actual RENTAL Experience. They were great. Car was great.

unfortunately , they never contacted me to tell me they did not have cars available for me until I get to the rent a car place and told me they could not call me because they did not have my phone number, NOT TRUE.

Cons:

I reserved a small economy vehicle, which wasn’t available at time of pick up, so I was given a minivan, which isn’t much of an upgrade at all. Nonetheless, I was not charged more. The minivan was not the cleanest inside. It had less than a quarter of gas at time of pickup. Thankfully, I was not required to return with a full tank. Rental seemed expensive for a rather inefficient and ugly vehicle for my short trip.

Unfortunately, there was no car available at the pick up station. The staff was not helpful and the hotline was overloaded. After 1 hour we were able to pick up our car. Dropping of the car was easy at the airport.

Easy process if a bit lengthy Fantastic price Great SUV, clean, relatively new Only issue is that Hertz didn’t notice that the drop off place in Berkeley,CA was closed on Memorial Day and we had to change it

Kayak made a huge error. I typed that I wanted to pick the car up at SeaTac airport and kayak made the pickup in north Seattle.

Terrible. I tried to switch the reservation to a different location and they wouldn’t allow it and charged a cancellation fee that was almost as much as the entire rental cost.
