Pros: Hotel Plaza Athenee (HPA) is the definition of superlative luxury. As an American in Paris, to be welcomed into The HPA is, in a profound sense, to be welcomed into the heart of France . . . into Parisian luxury. I must, in truth, admit that I am a person of exacting standards (my professional life requires such standards). Thus, for me to state highly complimentary remarks about a hotel amounts to deeply resonant truth. And too, I am deeply aware that the world contains people who have great means and those who have little or no means. Given this as background, my fervent wish is that all persons could experience the luxurious delight of The Hotel Plaza Athenee.

Pros: I was in Paris for my birthday and staying at the Shangri-la made it for me! Everything about this place is amazing - top service, views, food, drinks and atmosphere. You simply can't fault the place. I also fell in love with the way the hotel smelled

Pros: The greatest hotel breakfast buffet in existence. Eclectic retro design by Philippe Starck. Giant bathrooms. Cool tv in mirror with ability to aitply your device. Stunning linen sheets. Delicious Cafe Lait in tall insulated glasses. Lovely staff. The indoor pool is gorgeous with water bike and supplied goggles and flippers.
Cons: The wifi was very slow and would sometimes not work at all. Our last day they reset it on our floor and it worked better but only slightly. Room service and restaurant were so expensive (breakfast was included but is 68 euro if not) that it was ridiculous. 33 euro for a caeser salad for example. 18 euro for French fries. It is two blocks from Etoile 1 metro but the area was very quiet with few stores unless you went over to the Champs. You need to travel a ways to get to less name brand shopping or boutiques. But all easy by a metro or usually two. Can't do much about that but thought I should mention. But none of these things would stop me from returning. It was a terrific hotel.

Pros: Great location - short walk to Eiffel Tower and metro station Very friendly staff, patiently gave us advice for getting around Paris and kindly endured our attempts at French Clean rooms and nice decor Grocery store right next door
Cons: Fewer amenities (no pool, small lobby, if they had a workout room we never found it) Room layout awkward, no space to put items, everything ended up on the floor, especially in bathroom One bed in room for 4 people - the second bed was a pull-out sofa, not very comfortable for 5 nights

Pros: This hotel and its staff were wonderful until the heat wave at which point the A. C. broke for 20 hrs. throughout the hotel EXCEPT the lobby which I quickly discovered that I would just camp out there until I could breathe in our room. After 12 hrs and our 3rd trip downstairs, we were offered a fan which helped. Many were not given that option. One couple checked out early and was charged for the day. After requesting a discount for the miserable 20 hrs, my husband was credited with his breakfast he had eaten( I eat Pastries in our room). It was the dishonest with the different guests that bothered me the most(“They are working on it” the first night to “We hope they are coming today.” on the 2nd night and telling one couple “It’s working. It takes a while to kick on” after being out for 12 hrs. This is really a beautiful hotel with a wonderful staff that seemed to have no support system to help them with this situation. This was their 2nd heat wave this summer. I didn’t see on the news where a lot of air conditioning units were out so it seemed to be just be our problem.
Cons: I simply wanted honesty and fairness. Except for 20 brutal hours, I would have rated it excellent.

Cons: Hotel was under construction (and for quite some time apparently) so I'll spare you with the details of what that means when you are trying to catch up on some much needed sleep. Staff responded poorly to this situation that was not communicated ahead. Very dissapointing. One last thing, te hotel seems to be weel located because few hundred meters from champs Elysee but it is quite a dead area at night.

Pros: I really like the hotel but I don’t think it’s a 5 stars. The staffs were ok not too instructif. The rooms are very nice. A little cheap with the treats. One coffee one water one milk. Next day after I used it there were none left. There are few snacks there with the coffee and water so assuming it was free because there is no price listed anywhere. And when you used it they charge you at the end of your trip? It’s not bad, I would say it’s ok. I’ve stayed at better hotel which was 4 stars

Bathroom shower was full of mold very nasty try to change room Hotel was 100% booked or so we were told. We booked to have room with Eiffel Tower but instead got room on first floor with no view. Two guests arrived after us got much better rooms. Only difference we booked thru Expedia and other guests booked directly with Hotel.

Pros: The location is great. The bedding was very comfortable.
Cons: Overall, our stay was ok. The first room we were given had a very bad smell. The manager apologized and gave us another room. The other room was fine, and the rest of our stay was ok. However, on the morning of our departure, we had requested a cab to arrive at 7:45.... it arrived early and the clerk called us to say the taxi had arrived. We came downstairs at 7:45 to find that the taxi meter had been running the entire time, and was already at 10 euros. The driver apologized and was willing to leave without the fare. I asked the desk clerk to call another taxi, and he REFUSED. I was shocked and disgusted at this poor level of service. He blamed us, even though we came down at the exact time we requested the taxi to show up. The morning clerk on 5/8/14 should be reprimanded and re-trained in customer service. We ended up having to pay 17 euros for what should've been a 5 or 6 euro taxi fare. This left a very sour taste in my mouth and will likely prevent me from staying at Eiffel 7 again.
