worst rental everPros:nothingCons:waited in line for an hour to check out the vehicle, One customer rep. to help with one person in front of me. At check out the rental agreement was in Spanish, they blindside you with an $1100 hold on your card, force you to take the insurance. The vehicle had no shocks or struts, you felt every bump. The trunk had leaks were all my luggage was wet. I'm writing to the company sixt for poor service and to bee compensated.Reviewed 7 Sep. 2018

Cons:Sixt tricked US info buying effectively mandatory insurance, which totalled 3x the original price. 400$ instead od 120$. Super-bad, would never recommend or use again.Reviewed 21 Jan. 2019

Poor Customer ServiceCons:Upon our arrival the customer service person told us that we must pay an additional $16 a day for mandatory insurance. The insurance stated with the rental company was an additional $11 a day that I opted out of because I have full coverage insurance with my own vehicle. He also wanted to charge us $1100 as a deposit for the vehicle so we canceled the reservation there at the desk.Reviewed 10 Mar. 2018

An International Run AroundCons:I prepaid my reservation and insurance only to be told that neither covered the cost of the rental. Luckily, my assertiveness and spanish helped me avoid a scam. After returning the vehicle, they tried to claim additional scratches that were not there or were previously documented. So, in other words, using this company in DR, I would not prepay the rental or the insurance and I would ensure to be assertive and have a decent command of spanish to avoid being taken advantage of.Reviewed 22 May 2017

Communication is very poor.Pros:Nothing.Cons:Trying to cancel is like pulling teeth. You have to call, no you have to do it online, but to do it online you need a pin, but there is no pin in the email so you call a different number to get that then finally when you have the chance to cancel, they don't let you even though you purchased the insurance that is very misleading in saying "full refund " but that's only for the insurance. One hour to figure that all out and I still paid for it even though we didn't go because of all the storms.Reviewed 22 Sep. 2017

Awful, awful, never againPros:NothingCons:These people defrauded us. They didn't disclose on line that in the Dominican Republic there is a required $17 per day 3rd party damages insurance requirement. They then then demanded either an additional $50 per day insurance for damages to our car if we got in an accident, or a $2,500 deposit (that's right, $2,500). The insurance charges would have more than doubled the pre-paid, advertised daily rate for the car, but I turned down the car. Now I'm stuck trying to get back my prepaid $400. I tried to call the car rental numbers to cancel but no one picks up the phone. Awful, just awful!Reviewed 1 Jan. 2018

Pros:Nice peopleCons:No one at booth in terminal b so has to walk to terminal a to even pickup car. No mention prior to pickup that there was additional fee for spouse to drive or a large deposit charged to card even though we got the additional insurance.Reviewed 1 Feb. 2018

A problem to rent using this pageCons:When I picked up the car, the guy at SiXT counter told me that the Insurance Policy contracted using Kayak web-page was not valid, and I had to pay the SiXT insurance. I ended up paying 2 insurances (Kayak and Sixt).Reviewed 9 Jul. 2018
