We booked a one way rental. While there was a budget rental office at the Auckland airport only the downtown office did one way rentals. When we booked we were told there was a shuttle from the airport. This was definitely not true and we had to pay $180nzd and take a 30 minute drive to get to the budget rental office. That was a very unpleasant surprise after flying around the world with three young kids! I will avoid budget in the future because of that.

Very accommodating. Friendly staff! New and comfortable car! They also gave us a map and tips for driving on the left side of the road.

Everything was prompt and easy, as advertised, quick in and out.

Cons:

Reservation did not alert me to drop off location NOT being what I requested, which was wellington airport. A small hassle.

We weren't able to rent the car from them at all and had to pay for a new reservation through a new company, although we had pre-paid through Hertz
